Defense team, police wants Joe Ferrari tried for manslaughter not murder
tomacht8 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The defense team and senior police officers close to Pol Col Thitisant “Joe Ferrari” Uttanapol plan ... It's amazing what kind of senior police officers here. Apparently they are now also fully trained lawyers in criminal defense. Or they are trying to put pressure on the public prosecutor's office? What do these characters have to do with the case if they are not investigators or witnesses? -
Defense team, police wants Joe Ferrari tried for manslaughter not murder

I don't have much hope for a fair judgment in the name of the people either. However, it would be time for a court to show the Thai people that they do not tolerate torture police and murderers, putting plastic bags over people's heads and suffocate them. An outlawing of bestial torture methods by police officers would be appropriate here. -

Further, the Thai Criminal Code imposes the maximum penalty of death, when the killing was done under the following circumstances: If the victim is an ascendant of the offender; If the victim is an official acting in the exercise of his official functions or having exercise his functions; If the victim is a person who assisted, is planning to assist or has assisted an official who is performing an official function; If the killing was premeditated; If the offender employs torture or any acts of cruelty; -
Defense team, police wants Joe Ferrari tried for manslaughter not murder

The fact that 6 plastic bags were pulled over the victim's head was not an accident. This was done consciously and was not a coincidence. This bestial torture method is intended to bring someone close to death by suffocation. The torturer consciously accepts the possible death by suffocation. The torturer "plays" with possible human death. This is murder. If one chooses from a variety of torture methods the one that results in possible death, it cannot be accidental death. -

There will be some more legal tricks to bend the law. If you pull 6 plastic bags over someone's head and watch him sit idly for many minutes during the subsequent asphyxiation, then this is not an accident resulting in death, but an intentional murder. Joe accepted the possible death with his act. Instead, he watched the agony and could have avoided it, which he didn't. It would be manslaughter if death had been unimaginable. Like a traffic accident where the consequences cannot be foreseen in advance. But here it was foreseeable that humans could suffocate. That was accepted from the start. This is murder.- 113 replies

Thai Government Affirms Ongoing Police Reform Process
tomacht8 replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Thailand News
The need for fundamental reform of the RTP has been widely recognised since the 1990s, including by prominent Thai academics and researchers such as Prof Pasuk Phongpaichit of Chulalongkorn University, who says that RTP stations often function as companies, supported by monthly raids or protection involving underground casinos, drug-selling rings and smuggling networks. Prof Pasuk points out that the police are an integral part of the illegal economy and thus cost the state considerable sums in lost revenues every year. She notes news reports regularly detail the RTP's activities as "importers and traders of amphetamines; shareholders in gambling enterprises; kingpins in human trafficking; and agents and entrepreneurs in the sex services trade. https://www.cola.kku.ac.th/colakkuarticle/index.php/86-reshuffle-fiasco-reveals-police-force-in-urgent-need-of-reform-john-draper-peerasit-kamnuansilpa So after 30 Years nothing happened. Yeah is ongoing, that nothing changed in the RTP. -
Lawyer who leaked Joe Ferrari tape sued for defamation
tomacht8 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This legal opinion is a joke. 1. Is Decha Kittiwitthayanun the lawyer from Jo Ferrari? If not, why is he trying to protect the "good reputation" of the plastic bag killer? 2. How can you defame someone who murdered someone? Jo Ferrari doesn't even deny the murder. 3. Jo Ferrari alone ruined his reputation as a "good person" by killing a person. Maybe the lawyer should be prosecuted. As it reads here, he has apparently withheld evidence of murder. -
GPO to close deal for Lepu Medical test kits Monday
tomacht8 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Let's see what else is coming. The small, inactive, Russian Mini Ltd may hardly has the capital to pre-finance the import. Will the Chinese deliver without advance payment? And when will Thailand pay out the 600 million? If the tests fail, Thailand could withhold the money as well. That a country gives such a huge procurement contract to an Eventmanagement Mini Ltd., without contacting the producer directly. Incredible. -
That really is a muddled answer. 1. Do you know what a financial police force is that is not subordinate to the chief of police, but to the Ministry of Finance? 2. Do you know what a tax hotline is, where information about unusual wealth does not come to the police, but to an executive body at an tax office? 3. The point is to quickly bring proceedings against criminal officials to a conclusion that normally take years. 4. The possibility of self-reporting which has a mitigating effect. That has nothing to do with witnesses. Is practice in tax law in many countries. 5. No, in Thailand there is no central register of property ownership. The emphasis is on central. 6. The existing anti money laundering laws are as good as Swiss cheese.

England adds Thailand and Montenegro to travel red list
tomacht8 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand is already listed as a high incidence area. But we get 10 days of house quarantine. With a negative PCR test you can end the quarantine prematurely on the 6th day. I think the regulation is much better than the expensive UK hotel variant. And with a complete vaccine you are free to go. -
https://aseannow.com/topic/757769-hundreds-of-supercars-missing-thai-customs/ From 2014. Must be a good way to make money then. "Lose" over 500 super cars. How could over 500 luxury cars disappear under customs locks? Has not been clarified until today. In contrast then, David Copperfield is an amateur.

1. Simply set up an armed tax investigation team, which is not subordinate to the police, but to the financial tax ministry, with extensive powers. Then, in the hierarchy from top to bottom, check the police apparatus for unusual wealth. Gladly with a "small" success bonus for confiscated, criminally acquired assets. 2. Establishment of a telephone tip hotline 3. Establishment of a specialized express court, which takes 3 months from the indictment to the judgment. 4. Immediate removal from service and disarming of the accused police officers pending the verdict. 5. Determination of a fixed date by which corrupt police officers can report themselves to be lenient. 6. Establishment of a central register of land holdings. 7. Obligation of banks to register for cash transactions abroad, initially over 1,000,000 Baht. 8. Annual obligation to provide a detailed statement of assets by all civil servants. In the case of time delays, hefty fines. Just for a start.

Uhh, he is innocent. Uhh, he never done it before. Uhh, he never took corrupt money. Uhh, he swears on his amulet. Uhh, he doing his job for the good of the public. What a Drama queen. If he continues to whine for 5 minutes more, then in the end he is the victim. If I am sentenced to life in prison, so be it," Accepted. Good suggestion from the plastic bag killer.

Joe Ferrari will never share a 20 square meter cell with 30 other murderers in an ordinary prison. For the media he will first spend a few days comfortably in a solitary cell. Family and lawyers will visit him. Colleagues will organize tasty meals. When the media storm has subsided, negotiations about the bail money will be held. Then there will be some published news about the amount of the bail money . Maybe a few millions. And then come the waiting for the first trial, and that can take a long time. Postponements will follow. And the whole thing is then nicely - lubricated - decorated for the public. He has money and know the game.

Fugitive police chief 'Jo Ferrari' surrenders
tomacht8 replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Thailand News
This was 2014 a big Story. I no trust the customs office. If there really is 40% "finder's reward", then the temptation is huge for everyone involved. The customs house "loses 600 supercars" and a friend finds the cars again. In the end, legal money for everyone. Back in 2014, everyone was wondering how the customs office can "lose" 600 supercars. With the 40% that makes sense now. -

That is unbelievable. The plastic bag killer alone tracked down and seized the 368 cars? 400 million for him alone and no other policeman got anything from the cake? That stinks.- 151 replies
