  1. hi tina, if you want to find out more and maybe even want to help in the future, pls connect via facebook and/or check the websites of animal charities in thailand.

the dogs are kept there as live evidence until end of september. of course so many dogs in one place, the conditions are never good... animal activists fight for earlier release. 6 dogs could be taken out of there on first day by animal rescuers and one of them will come to me tomorrow and will stay with us, am looking forward to him :)

  2. heartless, selfish and ignorant people all over the world.

meat in the extent/mass developped countries eat it makes humans ill, also the side effects of production. meat has become to be the main dish in most countries. the mass production has many consequences for humans and earth.

dog is a friend and intelligent animal. all animals have souls as humans, do feel pain, love, anger, etc as we do.

these dogs have mainly been stolen or just taken, almost all of them look healthy, young and pretty. some huskys, labradors, poodles etc among them. these dogs were not 'farmed' they were stolen. and they had to endure horrible pain, exhaust and fear. many died on the way.

this is a regular thing in thailand. also pigs, chicken etc are transported mostly inhumane, many die already in transport. suffering and bearing horrible fear animals pass on this negative energy on the ones who lateron munch on their flesh.

if slaughterhouses were made of glass, if advertising for meat would not show happy piglets but the reality, if you could hear the screams of cow and other animals to be slaughtered inhumanely (what it is almost always) would you still enjoy your steak? well i guess many would as mankind is an intelligent animal but also has especially cruel abilities.

no one needs to eat dogs or any meat as such to such extent. dog is no food for the poor, it is expensive meat. cruelty to animals has no limits in horror on this planet. but what do you expect from humans who kill and torture each other and not care much for each other?

  3. hi sophon, gosh... more puppies....

i would go with ivomec injections every one or two months ( i do it every two months and it's fine) which kills ticks, mangemites, some intestinal worm and heartworm larvae. the tablets against heartworm have ivomec as ingredient, it is the same thing but a far less dose as heartworm larvae die of a very low dose of ivomac, other than tick and mange.

for flea use fleapowder (frequently) or drop-on (once a month) i use it rarely as my dogs don't roam around and new ticks cannot be brought in but sometimes other dogs visit us at the fence outside and some flea jump over... but with free dogs the flea problem is a never ending story. don't think the dogs don't have much flea if you only see few on them, that indicates already a lot and they live not on the dogs but in places where the dogs sleep or around that and only jump on dogs for suck blood. flea transfer eggs from tapeworm so they are not harmless and should be eliminated. if you see flea, deworming is a must.

for mama of puppies you can inject ivermec, it will kill all ticks in latest 24 hours and is not bad for the babies if they drink her milk, done that many times. for flea, rub flea and tick powder on whole family at least once a week. try to take off the ticks from puppies. deworm puppies with puppy deworming syrup, inexpensive in petshops or at vets.

provide mum with extra rich and frequent food, she needs it now, if you can. also the puppies need puppy food already. puppy vaccination at 2 mths age first time. deworming every two weeks for 3 times at least.

    good luck :)

  4. thank you for caring also for stray dogs or other peoples dogs who would not want to pay for any vet or medicine bills, am very happy for that!!! of course you would want to support your vet even more he/she comes to your house and also for being there in an emergency. as i stated already in my post further above, a bottle of ivomec (the euro-import as it's more effective than the cheaper local brands) costs about 1500 baht per 100ml. inject 1cc for 15 kg bodyweight. for normal use, as in parasite prevention use it every 2 months or even every month if necessary. for tick infestation you have to use it after 15 days again to kill the hatched babies. for mites/mange and heartworm infestation there are other dosages and frequencies for treatment.

  5. thank you so very much for your love for these animals and effort, money you put in to help them and give them a better life and a future. i just wish more people were like you.

first question, YES you will reduce population with that.

    second, sorry i don't know...

third, if this food is not too expensive for you keep using it, it is not bad for those dogs. don't know about the price of smarheart but i use a brand called 'rishy' which comes about 580 baht per 15 kg and i have good results with this since many years. if you can of course it would be great if you mix meat with the food or give them treats like chicken etc be careful with bones and also be careful with bigger bones as fights will occur over them.

as someone above mentioned, make sure clean water is always available plenty in dogs area so they don't have to run far to drink.

ticks can give fatal blood parasites so should be prevented. if you use ivomec you can prevent and kill ticks, mites, some kinds of intestinal worms, and heartworm. you could buy a bottle of 100 ml for about 1500 baht. used as subcutaneous injection (neck) 1cc for 15kg bodyweight. if a dog is difficult to inject can also spurt in the mouth. ivomec is quite safe an no side effects and effective, have been using it for all my dogs since many years. don't use it for puppies under 4 months, for them use fleaandtick powder.

also deworm dogs every 6 months, deworming pills are inexpensive at vets.

against flea infestation only fleapowder (frequently used) or drop-on (expensive but last for about a month) are working.

i'm not a fan of sedating shy dogs to catch them. it is a risk they go to a place you cannot get them out too, like a hollow or such. also in their state of doze they are in danger of accident. so be very careful and cautious if using that. i know sometimes there is hardly another possibilty.

soidogs can make eccelent pets. i have taken in so many - also quite old dogs which had been living and fighting for life on the road for years. and all of them, even if shy or aggressive at first, became lovely and extremly thankful and attached dogs. house breaking usually is no problem and most of them don't make a mess in their house by instinct from the start (other than puppies). there are always exceptions, and f.e. some of my dogs tend to howl sometimes at night which is very disturbing, some dog will not get along with other dogs well, some dog will always pee on things inside house etc. and hard to come by. but these are RARE exceptions and also happen with dogs which have been bred or been bought in a petshop. so i can from my extensive experience advocate to take in a soi dog, they are the most loving and thankful dogs to their owner once settled which happens usually very quickly and depends on love and effort given by owner!

wishing all the best and best of luck for rehoming these wonderful dogs and them a bright future... thanks for all you do, you are wonderful!!!!

  6. you can stop now with the milk supplement as i take it the pup is already almost two months old? not bad though and if you get the chance buy an imported brand, there are quite a few around, one of them lactol, forgot the names of others, any vet or bigger petshop should have it. don't buy the cheap one which is available at supermarkets forgot the brand but it's blue color box. it is only pure cows milk powder and can give puppy diarrhea and not good at all.

the pedigree puppy tins are not bad here, you can give cooked meat and few calcium tablets in addition or meaty raw beef bones which are big enough not to be swallowed.

  7. hi, your wife is doing a great job already. be careful that he is not getting too fat which is very bad for bone growth, though a puppy should be not thin of course. i would stick with puppy food from tin and also add dry puppy food but only good quality like royal canine. have always great results in growth and health with that, you can start now already with one called royal canine baby dog or royal canine maxi or medium junior. the baby dog dry food is very tasty and has very small pellets, also junior is very tasty, don't go with cheap brands. don't give any chicken bones!! very dangerous for especially pure bred puppies in my experience. take off the flesh from the bones. meat can be a goodie in between, i tend not to give it raw before puppy is about 4 months old. raw big beef bones will keep your puppy busy and good for teeth.

also mind that weaned off pups should be vaccinated first at about 6 weeks age, as pups which are allowed to stay with mother until two months first vaccination should be at two months.

to take a puppy at this early age is negative for building up his immunity as he does not get it from mothers milk anymore. be careful which area you let your puppy sniff around and which dogs you let him meet before not fully vaccinated at 3 months age...

  8. caring people found this tiny puppy with a nasty wound at her ear and took it to the vet where she got an operation and medical care and is now on the mend and already doing fine. the people who found her cannot take her and if no one else would give her a home they have to put her back on the road where they found her... she is ready to leave the vet clinic in one week and the vet will give free vaccination for this puppy in need too.

she is very affectionate and healthy otherwise and the scar won't be seen anymore once the fur grows back. she will be a very small dog when fully grown.

who could give her a caring home? on the road she won't have much chances... :(

  9. thanks :) i was sure it is a cobra but my thai worker insisted this is a ngoo sing which he has caught and eaten many times... as we have ngoo sing all the time and we had a few same looking cobras over the years so i recognized it but my worker made me doubt (and hope). i found it dead after my dogs had killed it the night before. we have quite a few snakes around here, almost on a daily basis we see them and many different kinds :)

  10. because i have a lot of rescued dogs already and as honey is not possible with other dogs she is alone in a run always and i don't have much time for her. now the situation is worse as some days ago she went on tiger and they had a bad fight hard to stop and i had to seperate them. tiger is fine with other dogs and actually very happy to be away from honey and not as urgent to find a home as for honey. honey is alone and i think she deserves better.... but for honey other dogs and animals are a nono in the home :( she is rather quiet and does not demand much, not much she has ever had in her life. but she is very sweet if you take your time and get to know her. maybe she is just the right dog for someone out there...

  11. hello...

is there anybody out there who would like to give us a good home and be our family? we might not be the most beautiful boxers in the world (well, for our owner we will be for sure) and we are no puppies either, in fact we are 5 and 6 yrs old already. we spent our former life in cage at a puppymill to produce many good-sale puppies... but nevertheless we are still affectionate and loving dogs who would do all we could to please our owner. all we need is lots of love and being with our people as much as possible. who would of course not let us down if we needed medical care as we grow older.

hi, i'm tiger and i'm a big puppy ;) i'm very bouncy and playful and all i want is attention and someone to play with me. i had a tumor removed from my neck 5 months ago and so far i'm fine and i hope that was it and i will be healthy always!

hi, i'm honey and i'm a very intelligent lady. i'm healthy and lovely but i don't like any dogs apart from my hubby tiger of whom i'm the boss of course ;) so other dogs or animals should not be in our new home. i also do not really appreciate small children. but for my mom or dad i would do everything and melt in their hands.

so, we have some 'flaws' as you might think but the right person who would love us will not see any of that.

you think our chances are too slim? well we try anyway ... and hope that YOU will see us ...
