  1. I've been hanging around this forum (for free) since 2012. I'm a newbie.

I've been here long enough to see there's so much whining amongst so many here about how Thailand is a doomed country, it's all misery, the people are just out to rip me off, the education stinks, hospitals are terrible, my pension is ruined because exchange rates are Crap, the national park screwed me before I even got to the pay box because I'm white, the service in every shop is pathetic because they play on their phones, .....

    Time for a paragraph,

The visa place makes us wait outside, I can't speak Thai but they dont speak English or even better, they don't speak German even though I speak German really clearly,

My electrician sucks, my earth cable isn't 2 metres long, my hot water isn't hot, the postman stole my mail again, Thai drivers can't drive, bus drivers can't drive, Thai planes aren't safe, Thai taxis overcharge that's if they'll drive out to Lat Krabang.

Anyway, just wondering if Thailand is ok for a holiday, and if so can you tell me a place where none of you will be because your negativity is awful.

Anywhere where misery can't find me will suffice.

  2. my title thread i was making a comparison are they as advanced as the other area it certainly doesn't mean i mean bkk is advanced. You know it's english language like say 3 people are from 1.2 to 1.5m then you would ask is person A as TALL as person C even though the max height between them is only 1.5m.

Anywhere is advanced compared to dhaka but comeon bkk and dhaka are like heaven and hell literally.

    Huh?

    There's only .3 of a metre isn't there?

  3. See what you can really accomplish in life if you try hard and drink lao kao.

Yes indeed, the hardship and toil and expense that Lao Kao has cost me over the past few years, at least 6 hospital stays of 3 to 4 days due to its amazing effects on the Pancreas, fantastic stuff, it makes the world so rosy until it tries to kill you.

It's a funny booze that stuff. I've tried it, 1 shot was enough.

I've heard it's quite common to find dearly departed still with the bottle in their hand.

Just to add it's the reason why I won't stay in the village at songkran. 51 weeks it's a nice quiet village, but the 1 week of songkran turns it into something out of a zombie movie.

  4. Most rice now is sown by a man with a backpack firing the rice out of a blower and all is cut by machine near me, very very little is now done by hand here.

It's a sad reality but it's gonna all be machine work 1 day. Thing is it keeps villages in work, as tough as the job is.
