I'm not exactly naive, yet I still wonder how a people can justify such profound pride in self and culture knowing that the foundation upon which their pride rests is corrupt.

If all life is karma obviously accidents are. Saudis believe same- Insh Allah ( "it is will of God" )
So the Saudis are just as mistaken as the Thais then.

Lovely humans, always ready to mock and despise someone who doesn't conform to what we consider to be 'beauty', or 'normal'. Get a life morons.
Not necessarily mocking or despising, just stating that the woman is very physically unattractive. I believe the huge majority of people, herself included, would agree to that.
Not too sure if it's photo-shopped, but there's definitely some serious make-up artistry going on.

The only time I've ever eaten pizza in Thailand was at Mr. Pizza or whatever in a mall. I cannot imagine a Thai pizza being nearly as bad as the abominations Koreans create.
ketchup, mayo, corn and french fries bwahahahahahhahaha

Fish 'n ships? Is that delicious?

I can imagine if they try this in Laos (Luang Prabang in front of the Emerald Buddha for instance) they'll quickly disappear.

It's the fact the Thai guy ran away and came back with a stick. Cowardly in the extreme. I am surprised, however, the Thai wimp didn't come back with a stick and 10 friends.

32% of Thais think road accidents are fate or karma????
Seriously ?

A Buddhist temple ripping off tourists is a new low in lows. Ya just gotta believe that somehow monk(s) are involved and that's just sad.

Question: How do they propose to enforce this act? House to house searches looking for computers which then get searched? Can they search a computer from afar electronically?
This seems like an impossibility, barring the "rat out the neighbour" syndrome because he looked at your daughter.

What about the ice-hockey??!! And lumberjack tournaments? And tart with maple syrup?
Might be able to get the syrup in Vientiane.
Believe it or not hockey and lumberjack tournaments are on TV. Maple syrup (the real Canadian stuff) is available everywhere in Vientiane.

Sweet jesus that is a huge pile of mind rotting poison. I wonder which high-ranking powerful figure is grossed out his mule got caught?

Seriously, who cares? It's soccer, a limp-wristed sport (cough cough) played by limp-wristed men.
I have an image of a bunch of these nancy boys rolling around on the ground holding their knees.
The NHL...NFL...CFL...rugby...Aussie Rules Football...those are real sports played by real men.

You'd think a guy his age with a disastrous marriage and all the attending fallout behind him would see that -ahem - relationship for what it is. He's either willfully or woefully blind. That broad isn't even remotely good looking and she's fat. If you're gonna get screwed by a Thai girl, literally and figuratively, at least get one that's slim and beautiful. It's not like they're in short supply.

I live in Laos, same same but different. I left Canada in 2005. I'll never go back. I hate the place. The weather is the worst. Its boring, expensive and full of posers who care more about what you own instead of who you are.
Now with Trudeau's government giving the country away to Muslims it's well on its way to becoming a Caliphate. Liberal limp-twisted do gooders with no sense of national pride. I hate it.
Goodbye and God freaking riddance.

Hummm, no they don't.
They work by cooling the air.
Wet air at 28 degrees is the same temperature as dry air at 28 degrees.
you just feel more comfortable in dryer air.
the AC typically needs to run for about 15 minutes before it starts dehumidifying the air. So if your room cools down in 20 minutes you get little moisture extracted before it switches the cooling off.
Then why do AC units have a hose that drips water outside? Where's the water coming from. Humid air is hotter than cold air. If you don't believe me, spend 2 winters in Canada, one in Vancouver and one in Calgary. -20C in Calgary feels way warmer than +2C in Vancouver.

"Does the doctor think that a security man is a piece of trash?", they asked Daily News. "Does he think that he is actually a human being?
1) Yes
2) No

I've been married to my Lao wife for 10 years. Her mom was Thai, from Issan.
There will always be cultural issues. Truly, I will never totally understand all of her ways, nor she mine.
Its a work in progress. But It works. Her life has moved up many steps on the social ladder and mine is a ton happier than when I was with my white wife back in Canada.

As a Canadian who left over 12 years ago this merely legitimizes everything I feel that crap country. It's hyper-liberalism and desire to be everyone's home regardless of circumstance is leading it down a dark path. I am so glad I left. I have never been back and never will go back.
I was living in Toronto in the late 80's in a flat. One day two girls moved into the downstairs flat and I went to meet them. The were Somali sisters. They told me that in Somalia it was very well known that Canada was the place to get to if you wanted a free ride. They spoke English quite well and told me it had cost them US$ 50,000 each to be smuggled into Canada so they could claim refugee status.
It worked.
Their rent was paid for a fully furnished apartment, they were given money to buy food, they were given money for entertainment (go see a movie etc), they had free medical (it's Canada) and free dental. They weren't even expected to start trying to find employment. They told me government officials advised them to relax, take their time and get to know their new country. Things would all be taken care of. They loved their new home.
In short order the neighbourhood had dozens of Somalis and more were coming. So, the Canadian government built them a recreation center where they could all gather. And more moved in.
While all this is very nice and generous and oh so Canadian, me and my wife were working full time for our full ride.
As an aside, if you've got US$ 50,000 in Somalia (in the late 80's), it doesn't exactly sound like you're a refugee from anywhere except an exclusive spa.

I can't comment. I ain't never had no liter bottle of water shoved up me rectum. I have seen videos, however.

Uhhh....a 1 kg gold bar weighs the exact amount as 1 kg of goose down.

I wonder if any of the cops have figured out that DNA evidence can be planted. They were in her house, how hard would it be to find a hair and stick in the car?

How can anyone here pass judgement on his mental health status? Are you a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist? Have you examined him?
Until I see information confirming his diminished intellectual capacities I am of the mind he's just a lazy usurping POS living off the good will of others.
I've lived in China, I hope they treat him well LOL

I, for one, would never brake or swerve dangerously to avoid what was almost assuredly a useless soi dog.
Truck driver arrested after motorcycling mom, daughter die in Suphan Buri
in Thailand News

This is tragic and was likely preventable. I've been driving motorbikes for 40 years and you have to drive like everyone is out to kill you. Anything less is dangerous.
I'd like to see CCTV footage is possible. No doubt the truck driver was careless but was mom on the bike inattentive at all? Passing the truck when a potential turning point was present? You have to be hyper aware of vehicles turning and take precautions.
Very sad......
