  1. I came here 2 years ago on a ed-visa and now started my 3rd year of studies. I saw a post about new rules. I have my next extension at the end of this month. Will I have a problem being I have already studied for 2yrs with out leaving.?
Ive already done my first 90 days for the 3rd year. This will be the next extension for another 90 days.
  2. Letter from embassy can serve as proof of address, same as letter from immigration, tambien baan and workpermit. No connection between that and (not) doing tests.

    .

Not the one it is now apparent he is talking about. But there is an affidavit from the US embassy that does serve to have testing waived by verifying a license is valid.

Can you share the form #?

The only thing I can find about driving license on the embassy web site is proof of address. Nothing about varafiing a license is valid... Nor was there a form when I went in person last week for affidavit for marriage.

I don't mind taking the test. But I just can't find this service from the embassy.

My original question is to see if anyone else knows what my neighbor said could be true.

I heard from some one and just want to know about if it can be done.

No disrespect but you said the letter from embassy is not what you did.

But thanks for your info if you can provide a form #

OK so I don't have tambian or work permit...

So back to my question can I use my lease and rent recites for proof of address like my neighbor said he did?

Or is it that if I use the US embassy I don't have to take the questionier test.

  4. Interesting.

But the letter for the affidavit from the US embassy only asks information about my address. I did not see anything on it about confirming my driver's licence, only address.

Didn't do it that way myself, so I've never seen the letter.

Perhaps you should tell people what nationality you are .

I thought when I said US embassy would of been a clue.
  5. My neighbor said he used his rent recites and lease to get his driver license.

He never got a letter from embassy or immigration.

Is this true? It seams more valid then a letter from embassy.

Has any one tried this? I will be going to the office by my home near BangChak bts station.

  6. I have a question on what I should fill out on a (affidavit of illegibility to marry).

The form asks "my address of record in the U.S.A. is" Do I put US address or my Thai address?

This is for the US embassy in BKK.

Also under occupation and monthly income.

I'm a on social security disability. So I'm not working and nor can I because of Ed-visa.

Should I put student with SSDI or none with SSDI? Then the amount.

  7. Any one hear about changes with new Ed visas being approved by the MOE?

My school said they are having meetings about new students and students already enrolled.

For my self I'm waiting for my final advance class enrolment to be approved by the MOE. I went to a interview there with the school to check my progress on 8th of May. But since last Thursday approval is uncertain.

I have to call my school again but I'm worried because my 90 day extension is coming up. Like the 30th this Friday.... The date is 1st of June but that's Sunday.

  8. When a.person fills out the letter to US embassy about his proof of income, say from social security. Do you write the US dollar amount received and also amount transferred to Thai baht? Or just put US amount and imagration does the math. Or just put the value in Thai baht?

The income affidavit just has a space for your total income in dollars. Immigration will calculate the amount in baht based upon the exchange rate for the day you apply for he extenison
    Thank you
  9. Don't suit the agenda, some agenda driven publicans will set up a reward for the capture of "Mandela of the East"

This days 500 thousand. Needs another 0.

Sounds a bit like the wild west and after seeing Jatuporns last "costume" in a previous OP I can see the fit here.

What next? "Wanted Posters" on street corners with Suthep's face on it? Oh hang onSee below..

A principle of democracy is rule of law and the reds, yet again, will dismiss that principle to allow mob rule to prevail.

I can imagine tumbleweed blowing down Democracy Monument at the crack of dawn tomorrow.

    BTW

Godwin's law applies here as well...

  10. I went to Lad Prao on March 25 to do my 90 day address report and asked if I can mail it next time. The lady said no. I believe because Lad Prao is a tempory office.

Has any one mailed in their 90 day report after March? I would like to know because my 90 day extension and my 90 day report are no longer on the same month. I really don't want to go to Lad Prao 2 times.

At Lad Prao you can do your 90 day reporting in person, but not by mail. (Also after the protest have ended and immigration returns to CW-road).

Mail-in reports must be send to CW-road.

That is great news thank you for the information you saved me from a second trip to Lad Prao.

It is amazing how a person has to choose the right words when asking a question to the immigration employees.

"It is amazing how a person has to choose the right words when asking a question to the immigration employees. "

Really? Being clear when asking a question is an alien concept?

No it's not but thanks for asking.

  13. I'm asking for my friend he said its difficult to go to Thai embassy in Hawaii for a 60day visa because he lives on a different island.

He was hoping to arrive on a 30day then go to Cambodia for a visa run then return home.

He will buy a two way ticket to come here and go back home. The return trip home to Hawaii will be 55 days after arrival to Thailand.
