  1. Decision day for PM edging closer

closer, .... and closer, and .... many days, many weeks, many months and many many many years.... for more than 3 freaking, it's getting closer, closer and CLOSEEEERRRRR!!!!! cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

How close is that game gonna come???

Very close,... see you tomorrow, in a week, in a month, .... or maybe after the 20th July ELECTION-COLLECTION,.... maybe next year.... maybe next 2 years,... the following two years .... next 10-20 years????

.... NAAAAHHHH, forget about it, it's getting boring,.... let her go to Hawaii already,.... thank you folks, bye bye... giggle.gifgiggle.gif

I don't think Hawaii would be good. People in Hawaii enjoy 3 things Thai people don't like.

    1. Fun in the sun.

    2. Swimming.

    3. Playing in the rain.

  2. When does your current extension of stay you got from immigration end.

You can apply for an extension based upon

marriage 30 days before your current

extension ends. Or you can get letter a from your school stating a date that your enrollment and apply for the extension on that date

You will need 400k baht in a Thai bank for 60 days or have an income of 40k baht to apply for the extension.

I came here with a ed- visa. I have studied now for 2 yrs I have done all my extensions at immigration office.

I will soon be getting married. After doing that can I change my reason of stay at the imagration office with out leaving Thailand? Or do I have to leave and get a marriage visa?

I'm wondering if I can do everything at the immigration office. This is after getting all the documents I may need ex. Proof of money etc.

  3. I had to go to MOE for a in person interview with one of the staff at the school.

The school should set up everything for you.

After my interview the MOE sent paper work to my school showing I was approved for another year. Then I gave that to immigration for another 90 day.

But like I said the school set up everything, appointment, paperwork, etc.

  4. Me and a friend were standing by bts a lady asked for 10 baht for bts my friend gave to her and then she looked at me and asked for 10 baht.

I laughted and called my friend stupid.

    Then told her to go.

Needles to say it was my friends first day in bkk

  5. Ok thank you. But I wont loose my education visa because of this? Even if I will be charged 500baht for 1 day overstay?

Are you aware you can do it up to 30 days early. You do not have to wait until it is due.

Ok thanks for the Info. A classmate at the school told me it is better to go as late ass possible because the 90days will be added to exactly the same day when you will applicate for the extension.
Your classmate is talking about your address report. Your 90 day extension is 90 days after the date in your passport.
  6. I have a question about a bus route and how it goes around the protest sites that are blocked.

My friend is coming in March and wants to go to Khao San road. I live by Bang Chak and know bus #2 runs 24hrs.

Does the protests affect the bus route say around Asok area?

Can I take this bus to and from home?

I like the bus system here and I know I could take a taxi. But I just can't find any information on buses other then their routes. Nothing if there is change.

  7. I know people who went to Bangkok for 2 weeks just to watch the riots and protests last month. I think this kind of tourism is quite stupid and arrogant, but it is popular.

I have heard about people doing this.

As for me I try to keep away from the protest sites. Especially late in the night.

  8. I saw a post about Marshall law. What would this mean for the people in Thailand?

And what would it mean for tourists already in Thailand?

Would this affect night life being there may be a curfew? Also would there be a band on alcohol sales?

I guess I'm just wondering what Thailand's version of Marshall law is.

  9. It is so you can have quick access to the funds plus they can verify the balance easily by calling the bank.

    Awww makes sence. Thank you.

Ok now new question We are in Bangkok now soon to get married.

We will move to Chaing Rai area. If we do the paperwork in Bangkok will that affect moving to Chaing Rai, as far as imagration departments go?

I guess Im asking is where should we register the marriage.

Here now in BKK or in the future of maybe next year?

I hope my question makes sence. Sorry if it does not.

  10. From clause 2.18 of police order 777/2551.

    (6) In the case of marriage to a Thai woman, the alien husband must earn an average annual income of no less than Baht 40,000 per month or must have no less than Baht 400,000 in a bank account in Thailand for the past two months to cover expenses for one year.

Never trust a commercial website to give you accurate information.

Thank you for this advise. thumbsup.gif

  11. One or the other. But if you show the bankbook the 400,000 needs to be there for 3 months

Sent from my GT-S5310 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

For an extension of stay based upon marriage the money only has to be in the bank for 60 days.

Retirement is 90 days after first extension.

I think and I say again "I think" the 60 days is for starting, Im not sure.

But once isued this is a link I found about the 90 days.

This is from the website of Siam Legal website

    • "Financial Requirement"

"1. THB 400,000 in a Thai Bank Account for 2 months before the visa application

    2. Monthly income of at least THB 40,000. A letter from the foreigner’s embassy has to be

    shown to verify this income.

    3. Combination of the Thai bank account and yearly income with the sum of 400,000 THB"

This is were I got confused about one or both.

    1. "Bank Account"

"The marriage visa is valid for a year but you can renew it by presenting the same requirements the first time you applied. However, the funds in your bank account must be at least 3 months old before your can renew your visa."
