Well, that's at least what I'm hoping for.
I agree but although it's worse now than ever a lot of folks including myself have been waiting for the "smoke and mirrors' Thai economy to crash for years.Their individual debt must be crippling the place you would think.

May I suggest you look up "sarcasm" in the dictionary?

Some years back, while on one of my monthly bike road trips on my CBR250, I was on Hwy 11, returning to Chiang Mai from Lampang, doing 120 kph. I saw a silver minivan in my mirrors gaining on me - quickly. I cut my speed to 100 kph and moved over to the left lane, which was empty. Seconds later SIX (6) minivans went FLYING past me, doing at least 140 kph, damn near bumper to bumper. Not many things I'm afraid of, but that scared the hell out of me.
I was in Saraburi years ago when five ,4 door pickups went past me doing the same, people laughing ,shouting .A few Km on they were head to tail concertina into the back of one another ,with lots of maimed and a least one dead I could see .

"if this is true then why bother with things like the forthcoming OSS app?"
As has been said when will this be working? Also reporting at 7-11s pay driving fines at 7-11 etc etc. I wont hold my breath.
I have just had to get a new bank ATM card. Why? to keep us all safer?I have been told everyone has to get a new ATM card.I used to take trips all the time in Thailand,A day here a couple of days there, but having to front immigration every few days on my return home has stopped my domestic travel along with the outlay of money into the Thai economy [for hotels food petrol etc.etc] it entailed
Never mind ,the Chinese /Indian tourists will save the economy! Hmmm?

Be thankful. Be very thankful.
A blessing in disguise.
The less the better.
Generally, the better parts of Thailand are the places with the fewest expats.
By the way, by the grace of God, i'm English.
Don't tell everyone. Now they'll all be looking for places with the fewest ex-pats????

A points system that allows for multipule drink driving offences until your licence is suspended for 3 months. Alice in wonderland comes to mind.

Licensees should be prosecuted for serving drunken people and drivers for driving with excess alcohol. Both are the job of the police in a civilised country.
True but good luck with that.

Along with Biggles titles.
And in my not-so-innocent teen years - Sven Hassel....
Re the op,
Now that is a funny headline.
As a kid I read all those too Biggles and Sven Hassel .I don't know the others
