I'm in NZ right now - perhaps a good place to be to wait out this plague. But I'm separated from my daughter, and I miss her badly. Not being able to jump on a plane at any time and go up there is taking time to sink in. I miss my little home up there, and I miss my relaxed lifestyle and all the things I have become used to over the decades. For all its faults, Thailand was home for 30 years, and it's not easy to just suddenly push that aside. If this goes on for another couple of years, I might be a raving lunatic by the time I can go back.
I'm in the same boat stuck in Australia.Which as you say may be a good thing ATM but I was due to return to Thailand on the 20th .Now the question is the 20th of when? it's been 20+ years for me since I started alternating between here and Thailand.I'm missing my lady and my 2 dogs, even the neighbours I have there are good. All we can do is wait unfortunately.

General Aswin. hahahahhahaha. Missing an s somewhere. How about lock down Bangkok? Oh so sorry too late…. 100,000 workers have went home out of Bangkok now and are spreading the virus love.
The authorities in the country are totally out of their depth .The job in Thailand is to get the job. Then the work is done [until something that needs a proper soluition happens then medals and uniforms and wais can't cover the incompetence.]

Who told you that. Perhaps you local office does not require one.
I think you might be confusing TM27 address reporting with TM30 reporting.
Joe do you know if Ubon Immigration are still wanting farang to report after a couple of nights away from the home address?

Our village has seen long time company people returning after being laid off, several uni graduates twiddling their thumbs for many months or still twiddling. It's to do with Baht being high and slow growth in export countries. Now with the virus we have a poison icing on a bitter cake!
???? I would say even before last year though .The overvalued baht was hitting the economy for awhile now.

"The tourists can stay away. I feel nothing for the crying thais. They killed my business in 2011.
I had a staff of 217. Let them grovel, maybe they, the thai folk, can get a government to care for the normal people, or tough TATs..."
Killed your business?
I was given some advice many years ago when I first started visiting the Phillipines,"Never invest any money in Asia that you are not prepared to write off and walk away from" It has served me well.

The Authorities made have announced that Songkran is cancelled, but all they need to do now is ACTUALLY stop the Thais doing exactly as they please, and carrying on anyway.
Easier said than done.
Well why not ? Prayut stopped the passenger vans driving like maniacs didn't he? He told them not to!????
