  1. A average soapie girl make about 50000 bahts, top side line make about 100000-150000 bahts a month. Some popular karaoke girls make over 200000 a month. A country of absurd contradiction.

Maybe some of these english teachers should think about a career change :o

  2. MrMarty, why dont you go and do something usefull like interview the crowds of people at lets say...

If you do not enjoy the eye candy of these lovelies while on the slops, stay home with wifey or go to silom soi 4.

While alcohol can be addictive, it is not nearly as so as tobacco. While alcohol can cause detrimental effects to other parties, it is not nearly so as secondhand smoke that other individuals have no choice but to breath.

What's wrong with Silom Soi 4???

They serve alcohol all night, the club are open until 2AM and they do serve alcohol all night too, people are friendly and don't try to get you pissed (doesn't mean they don't want your money though...) there is always an after at the corner of the street where more drink and music is waiting for you !!!

    :o

    1am now :D

  3. whats wrong with being noisy in a bar, if there was a live band on would this Warehurst prick have told everyone to shut up? He got what he deserved imo, the cut to his leg was maybe a little excessive though :o

Theres to many tw@ts in pattaya who think the second they enter a bar they are in charge of the music/pool table/TV, its like being back in the UK :D

It reminds be of an incident over christmas there, I was in a bar down Jomtien and wanted a game of pool, some prick stands up and decides hes got 500 baht on the table and the next 20 games are his, even though there was a board for names. I barfined the 9 girls working there and went next door to play pool, the prick was left to play with himself. :D

  4. Why should one have to make excuses? You are going out for a drink with the lads. As long as it's not every night and you are not neglecting her, I don't see the problem. If there is a problem, it's you own fault, you should have lain the ground rules down from the begining, or have you come thousands of miles to become a wimp?.

Now, if the question had been, ''can I stay out all night tonight, Ti lag, because" etc etc. Let me know the acceptable excuse, because I would love to know. :D

absolutely, I can't believe how many guys over here let their girls rule their lives.

A good trick I find is when you meet a new gf and they ask why you finished with the previous one, tell them it was because she always used to give u sh1t and call u every 5 minutes when u were out drinkin with mates...

See how much hassle u get then :o

  5. For 2.50, what have u got to loose :D
Precisely! That’s what this scammer wants 1,000, 10,000, 100,000 men to think and pay up.

Keep us posted about the progress of your adventure!

  6. I . . . wondered if there are some people in Thailand who would rather not be friendly with a Yank.

an American was beaten for innocently asking a group of Britrash, watching “footie” on the tellie in a bar in Chiang Mai, whether they also liked American football.

well he shouldnt have asked such a stupid question :o

these yanks have no manners :D

  7. hi'

you're a lucky one, I just changed my old one for an epson 3490 photo, excellent and very reasonnable price, can do it all, film(35mm) and dias, and even correct the quality of the object scanned, useless to mention that you can scan a doc to pdf, staight!

    a good scan :D

    francois

par anglais si vous plais :o

  8. But even best case scenario, this will only help foreigners & tourist industry. Let's not overlook the fact that rape and sexual assault are very prevalent in Thailand, with the overwhelming majority of victims Thai, and with little recourse or support from "law enforcement" and the courts.

It's probably hoping for too much, but it would be good if these incidents sparked some interest in addressing that issue (legal reforms, sensitization training for police & judges, development of rape centers to provide physical/psycvhological and forensic support, etc).. ..

Finally somebody else who understands that rape and coerced sexual favors is quite common in Thailand and gets little, if any attention. Apart from the all to common violent rape cases in the villages and smaller towns that often go unreported as there is a common perception that the men in brown will be of no avail at best, there has long been sexual harassment at the work place where keeping your job includes providing sexual favors to the boss or where outright rape of workers occurs.

One of my best friends who worked as a trek guide had a young daughter who got a factory job in Chiang Mai. She, along with other workers, was raped by her boss, became pregnant, and committed suicide in shame. Despite statements made by co-workers, the men in brown were unwilling to bring charges against the boss man.

And even in work places where sexual coercion is not practiced, it is not uncommon for a young woman to be asked to leave once she marries, as she now is perceived to "belong" to someone else.

So although I feel bad for the women and families of the tourists who suffer these crimes, it is but a mere footnote to a far more pervasive Thai problem.

Yes, absolutely true. I agree with both of you.

    happens everywhere :o
