Dammit the missus has just got really excited at the prospect of good sausages and is now asking me when i am going to order some - she thinks that the 5kg wholesale pack from Trueblue is a good idea,
Not if she keeps leaving the refrigerator door open its not.
How many sausages is 5kg roughly?
Any chance of getting this moved to the food section?

Ronny's Pizza on Nana...excellent, New York-style pizza which they also sell by the slice and a fantastic cheesecake to match

It seems to me like a few people have found a way around this though Joey Boy, as I say I know a couple of people that have done so. I'm no financial wizard but I expect there are a few ways you can Thai bank account, register with Paypal and then have the money deposited in the US and then withdraw it over here. Whether its a 'bank account' or some other entity where they can take your money for you I don't know. As I say, pretty clueless about the ins and outs of financial services, but I know something can be sorted out. Both my friends accounts were opened well after 9/11.
They will be trading accounts and not personal checking/current accs
-
Any more info on that Joey Boy, link to info about it?
Speak to any of the banks in question, they will tell you that you have to go and open the account personally, pre 9/11 it would have apparently been possible but the Patriot act put a stop to it
-
Most 5* hotels have rooms/suites avail with a Jaccuzi
-
Since the Patriot act and post 9/11 non US citizens can't open a checking/current account unless they are on US soil
As far as I am aware, you can register a paypal account with a Thai bank account and your ID there but the funds cannot be withdrawn to it.
For that you'll need a bank account in one of the approved countries, in fact you may need a US account specifically (if you are registering it with a Thai bank account) to withdraw the funds to, which you can set up even if a non US resident.
How does one set up a US bank account as a non-US resident outside of the US ?
On the face of it, it appears that it can be done here but best do some thorough research first if you really have the need to open such an account...
That site is a scam

"Thais and expats earning min 100k can apply with a full bi lingual call centre, no annual fee and the best benefits program pretty much of any card"
Is that 100k Thai THB a month or USD a year?
How many Thais earn USD$100k a year

I wonder what the risk is to those who have made credit card purchases from a merchant who processed through Krung Thai, e.g. if I ate at a restaurant and paid for the meal with my Citibank Visa credit card with the restaurant processing the purchase through their Krung Thai merchant account.
If you go around swiping your cards for things like meals multiple times a day is only a matter of time before your bank rings you and asks if you are on a spending spree in Taiwan

Nothin new here, the police are down there almost every week between 2/3 making them turn the music off

I have no sympathy for overstayers who get caught or fined, but it does seem to me like its just another excuse for Thailand to milk more out of foreigners
-
Don't worry too much. It was all blocked by the end of last year

Hi Endure
I have just opened a flex account with Nationwide soley with the intention of using it for ATM transactions in LOS.
My previous ATM transactions have always been with Natwest and incurred 2 small charges Nationwide assures me that I will not have to pay either of these charges, but that sounds to good to be true.
Is that correct?
Thanks
TBWG
Yes, that's right - no charges at all and you get a good exchange rate too
You can set these up online from Thailand to a Thai address?
-
I am currently trying to close his website down in England and force the thai police to do more.
Whats the URL?

Ian_B, drake, maybe you can give some price indications. It would be quite helpful.
Joey Boy,
RAID is rather complicated issue, which level RAID do you have in mind?
It would depend on your preference of speed and/or fault tolerance, you'll be very supprised on just how easy it is to set up using these new sata systems
-
Go into your local McDonalds, they will have application forms there

4. Barracuda 7200.9 ST3250824AS 250GB, 7200RPM SATA-II 300MB/sec HDD - THB 4,750 - should be further investigated!
For another 4'750 you could run 2 of them in RAID, and not have to worry about the integrity of your data
