The VFS office closures were, as far as I can tell, ordered by HMPO back in the UK, who, quite frankly, don't give a toss about what Prayuth (or anyone else in a position of power in LOS) might or might not say on whether or not their agent's offices in Bangkok and Chiang Mai should re-open. Accordingly the timing of any re-opening of these offices will almost certainly be solely dependent on how HMPO interpret current Government advice back in the UK, which could well have little relevance in practice to the situation on the ground here in Thailand.
I stick by what I said..... if the UK move first and say VfS can start accepting applications, nothing is going to happen unless Thailand say that Bangkok offices can open again.

Up to you.
It's not actually "up to you" in Pattaya (and a few other places). You wear your mask - or you pay money. Bo11ocks to any recent findings.

Actually the figures suggest it has peaked.
There's also little evidence to suggest that full lockdown is better than social distancing. Thailand and Sweden are 2 examples of countries that didn't do a full lockdown and are doing better than other countries that did a full lockdown.
On the money issue, do you realize that a weak economy leads to increased deaths in the population in the long term? So it's not as simple as saying "You care economy more than you care people". You are over-simplifying things.
Agree with that - although comparing Thailand or Sweden to the UK also over-simplifies it.
Moving out towards a 'new normal' is essential for all the reasons you mention; the sooner that starts, the better. The strategy for that, and controlling it, will be interesting.

I would have thought that they would subject to rules in Thailand rather than the UK.

I've never been to France to watch it, but that does not come across on the television coverage. There's not many sports that have the drug-testing that professional cycling has.
You can now watch the Tour de France in Yorkshire..
.... never quite got my head around that one.

1. Transferwise uses three partner Thai banks. Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn Bank and TMB.
2. You must have an account at, and use one of those banks to transfer the money to. Using any other Thai bank will not result in a foreign/International transfer being recorded.
3. You should register that bank with TW as you preferred Thai bank.
4. When making your transfer you must use the 'funds for long term stay in Thailand' as your reason for transfer in the drop down box.
5. Following these guidelines, your transfer will arrive coded as an International transfer.
Bank holidays excepted, if you initiate a transfer before 9:00am Thai time on a Monday to Friday the transfer will arrive in your Thai account on the same day. If you initiate a transfer after 9:00am or at a weekend your transfer will arrive in your Thai account on the bank's next working day.
Very good report - although your timings are a bit misleading.
I have instructed many transfers after 09:00 and they have been received in minutes..... 6 seconds being the record.
Weekend transfers are interesting because you can instruct a transfer 'after hours' and mark it "Pay later" and you will get (usually) 72 hours - until 06:59 on the Monday, or Tuesday, if a bank holiday intervenes. You can cancel the original instruction if rates move in your favour. This weekend I booked at 40.68 and on Tuesday the markets opened around 40.30.

Poompui Pompeo's got this right. Don't matter if you hate Trump or love him, China's got to answer some hard questions. That the virus originated in Wuhan is not in question. Heck, the Chinese scrambled to close Hubei down before people anywhere were even talking pandemic. They knew they had a monster on hand.
What the world needs to know is exactly how the C-19 virus evolved and then infected humans. The clues are in Wuhan, maybe the virology lab, maybe the wet market, maybe both.
We need to get to the bottom of this to prevent Covid-2021.
And WHO needs to be taken apart and put together again. Jeez, they were advising against travel bans, against masks and against calling it a pandemic till national health orgs started pointing and laughing.
China should be writing several blank cheques......

I ignore COVID because ........
1) I think I already had it (along with 3 out of 4 of my family).
2) I'm prepared to take the 0.15% risk of death in order to live a normal life.
3) I'm happy for you to stay home and never go out again, in which case you'll be safe.
4) Living in constant fear of death is probably worse than death.
It's not a case of being an expert, it's a case of not being stupid.
As for Darwin, I've already had 5 kids, my life is already near it's and, I am ineligible for the award.
As for HIV,
My pal and I did ignore the warnings, had unprotected sex with many different Asian women.
He died of AIDs age 59, I didn't ......... in some situations, you just gotta be lucky.
Now if only I could get rid of those warts ..........
Unfortunately, that post comes across as exceedingly selfish...... don't know if that was intended.
Me, me me.................................... this is not all about you.

UK and USA, two of the main non mask countries, how's it going in those 2 countries?
I imagine that some simple-minded people in Thailand will cite masks as the difference between 55 deaths and 30,000 deaths.

Used them last summer, 98,000THB, 2 adults 2 kids to the UK, they were the cheapest by far. Great service both ends, very family orientated. Flight service was good too. Only complaint was a very old entertainment system.
Heard horror stories about them before and was dreading it, in the end was very impressed. In normal times i travel a lot for work, so have been on a few airplanes in my time ????
I found the same and generally little to choose between the level of service. EVA have a new plane on the BKK/LHR route and the entertainment system was excellent.
On my last BA flight in December the crew said that a new plane would operate the route from May.....that could now change of course.

and it doesn't matter how many die from the virus as long as the idiots can still get their grog. Pathetic little person with no brain. Just check around the world and see how many other countries have their restaurants, bars, cafes and nightclubs closed to stop the spread of the virus and some countries even have alcohol restrictions in force as well.
You do understand that there are virtually NO Covid-19 cases in Thailand now. The alcohol ban is illogical - I rarely drink these days so I haven't got a horse in that particular race - it serves little purpose (once Songkran was out the way) and if the intention is to prevent group gatherings then police that aspect rather than booze sales.
Thailand is fortunate (and pretty well managed) to have such little impact from CV19 and now is the time to ease restrictions and start a slow process of getting people back to work....... no need for anyone in authority to try and show how big their ba11s are.
