Thai will for foreigner
As long as you don’t mind it being in Thai. Fluent in Thai script are you…….if not, you will have no idea what it says. Not necessarily an issue, just flagging it.

Thailand’s military, police on standby for protests if Pita’s PM bid blocked
I don't think that I would credit Prayuth with that. It is certainly a weak criticism of Prayuth as the inequality has been built into the culture/system for centuries. It also grew in Thaksin's time - obscenely in his favour as it happened.

Schengen requirements - 5 months in Spain
I am a British citizen living in Thailand. Next year I am considering spending up to 5 months in Spain. This takes me outside the 90 days in 180 days rule; what are my options?

Absolute rubbish. Forex ..I have been waiting years for the Baht collapse that hasn't happened. Yanks talking about 40, Brits 50.... Tourism is on the way back - and it was much higher in Prayuts time than Thaksins. Huge road building in the last 10 years..... something Thaksin only ever talked about.

I think you will find that SCB consider it a forward step. (you must smile when you see yourself described as a ‘newbie’)

Certificate of Residence in Pattaya immigration, bank question
Did you really find it necessary to use capitals when correcting someone who said that they “thought” it was 90 days?

Nobody cares, he served his term. Don’t like him but Thailand didn’t do badly under his tenure.

Combination method for "O" visa extension based on retirement
I don’t understand why a published income method is not accepted. Are you suggesting that EVERYONE using Hua Hin immigration office can only use the money in the bank method?

My point was that your timing is not doable by car…….especially Cambodian taxi. I doubt that you took your own car. Did you get insurance for your motorcycle trip.

Possible return to the UK, without any money.
I sincerely hope that you get the help you need. As you are a U.K. pensioner it may be worth speaking with Age U.K. https://www.ageuk.org.uk/globalassets/age-uk/documents/factsheets/fs25_returning_from_abroad_fcs.pdf

Don't forget to cover up your headlights (if your lights are automatic). Police will fine you if you ride with headlights on during the day.

Informally referred to as a car passport. I tried to get one for Laos, gave up in the end as Buriram Immigration and Buriram Land Transport Office kept bouncing me around. I remain unconvinced that valid insurance is available - I would always take the taxi option.

The OP is not traveling by motorbike... Did you manage to get insurance when you went?

Not quite sure what you are driving but Google Maps suggests 2 hours 40 minutes by car. I doubt that it can be done in under 2 hours and, as I recall, certainly not in a private car across the border. Not sure if that is possible but you would not get insurance for the trip. Many reliable taxis available - PM me if you are unable to find one yourself, I have contact details for a guy who I have used 20+ times.

UK Spouse Vìsa for Thai wife.
I agree with all the above. However, I find it slightly incongruous that UKVI issue standard visitor visas for a 6 month period (and state a maximum stay period of 180 days) then harangue Thai ladies traveling alone for making ‘regular and successive visits’. I have a friend who has chosen to educate his Thai son in the U.K. but is not in a financial position to settle his Thai wife. She stays for approximately 5 months each year so she can spend time with her husband and son. He visits Thailand for approximately 2 months each year. That way ‘the family’ are able to spend 7/8 months together. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Another friend spends 6 months in Thailand and May to October in the UK; his wife stays with him all the time……I really don’t see why 180/185 days UK/Thailand should be an issue.

Banks refusing to witness Life Certificates for UK Pension Service now?
Fact. Nothing is checked in terms of verification of the signature. I have signed over 50 life certs in the last 10 years. Initially I added a stamp and phone number - never any follow up contact. Now, virtually anyone can certify the life certificates. I imagine that somewhere in Wolverhampton a junior clerk ticks a box on your record to evidence return. Only by default, ie non-return, does the system flag up the fact - and payments are suspended.
