  1. You need to be rich to have 800k in the bank - or an income of 65k? Is that "rich" in your country?
  2. We knew it was your preference, that is why your comments were biased. I don't give a toss about your preference (although I have no desire to cash eliminated) - my observations were on par with The OG....... I guess you see what you what you want to see.
  3. I hope so, that is what the OP wants to achieve.
  4. A friend tried that. They didn't want his body.
  5. Don't call me a liar! I don't care about where you live - I saw several 'card only' retailers.
  6. You can actually find big manly, and fat, women in Thailand without looking too hard.
  7. Positive Brownie points are a figment of the male imagination. It always seemed to me that Brownie points could only ever be lost.......................
  8. Have you missed the improvements to the infrastructure?
  9. I will find the Thai Immigration Bureau reference when I have time and post it up. Buriram Immigration did mine 40 days early on one occasion. In the meantime you will see 45 days referenced here from the Key Visa website:- https://www.keyvisathailand.com/services/retirement-visa-in-thailand/ How to renew your retirement visa extension Your visa extension based on retirement is valid for one year, it’s important that coming up to that time of renewal, you start to make proper plans to renew it. Currently, you can apply to renew your visa 45 days before it expires. You should renew as early as possible and not leave it to the last minute. Also Pattaya Expats Club:- https://pcec.club/Extending-Stay How early before the extension expires may I renew it? Usually you can apply for renewal from 30 to 45 days before the end of your extension period - Chonburi (Pattaya) Immigration will only do it up to 30 days early. When renewing an extension, the new period begins at the expiration of the current extension period.
  10. Ask them and they will say 30 days. This year they processed mine at 32 days prior. 45 days is the 'official' Thai Immigration number.
  11. I would always go for the cashiers........they don't get out much.
  12. I tried to input a Thailand address but it would not accept it.
  13. I believe you do - or at least I had to for my friend in Lahansai yesterday.
  14. Good stuff. Don't you need a UK address for the Government Gateway?
  15. Good luck with that. If you find a clear cut, easily identifiable way to communicate with them (like a CHAT or email function that you might get with a bank app) please let me know. I spent ages yesterday trying for a friend and had to piggy back on something else to be able to communicate a message. about an incorrect tax code.
  16. ....and we never said ALL EU generated rules were bad - this one seems sensible so we retain. The sh1tty ones we dump.
  17. I am just helping a friend in the identical situation. Somebody pointed out that he seemed to be paying too much tax. This probably goes back 10/11 years to the time his state pension was frozen. He has letters (previously used for the old British embassy income certification and also to show Immigration) confirming his weekly entitlement of GBP 135.84. HMRC make payments to WISE, every 28 days of GBP 543.36 which totals GBP 7,063.68. He spent 5 hours on the phone yesterday to various HMRC staff and he was told he was wrong (and had the phone put down on him by one arrogant a55hole who said "don't try and tell me how to do my job"). I eventually managed to create a Government Gateway tax account for him. It is appalling that there is not a freeform option to advise things like incorrect tax codes.. I found an online claim form where I there was a box where you could input text - so I set out the problem in the disparity between the actual state pension payment and the system generated state pension figure of GBP 9,738. That resulted in wrong tax codes being sent to the occupational pension provider. I have a reference number but fear that the outcome may be similar to the OP. As a back up it may be necessary to post correspondence, with supporting evidence, to HMRC in the UK. All this because HMRC screwed up and, so far, have not been able to recognise/admit their mistake. I wonder how many other people in Thailand are similarly affected.
  18. You do waffle on..... You ONLY need 65k pm to satisfy Immigration requirements; I know several people who spend less than that and build a surplus. Obviously you need an adequate amount of (say, Sterling) to make exactly 65k payments every month. I send around 200k p.m. but that is my personal circumstances - one payment of 65k for obvious identification purposes and other amounts as required........... Kasikorn Bank actually certified 2m Baht of payments (with at least 65k p.m.) for me and Jomtien were happy with that.
  19. If you transfer 65k pm Forex is irrelevant.....the same amount is received into the Thai bank every month.
  20. In a nutshell. That would most certainly be progress and a stepping stone towards what might be achievable. Step by step, slowly slowly catch a monkey. Anything too pacey will hasten he next coup. Keep the Thaksin mafia out - any heavy involvement will also hasten the next coup. Short steps towards democracy, I don't think that the Thai population are ready for anything more.
  21. Fair response.
  22. You need to lose your fixation with balls!
  23. Lalisa Manobal from Blackpink hasn't done bad either....
  24. It was the bail changes that did it for me.
