haha, very good post.. i also can't understand how farang can spend so much money around here, even after they lived here for so long, for just a few percent better food or more fun. Drink beer with Thai or farang friends together, and you can just get it from the 7... breakfast from the fridge and thai food for 30- 80 baht all over the place here.. g/f takes care herself, massage free ofcourse, a bit of swimming in the sea (free), cheap fruit, etc. Sometimes like to splash out here, as well, but basically 500 baht can do it just fine.. see how the Thai's do it!

Well done, Air Asia ! I've been flying many times with you guys, and the price difference with Thai Airways or others had been much more than just a few hundred baht! Good service so far, the seats are good enough (specially compared with long busrides through asia, for the same low price ) and the snacks i'll get on the airport, tastes a lot better then the regular airplane crap anyway ! Thumbs up !

Koh Phangan To Be Drugs-free Family Destination
in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Posted
Is'nt it just incredible what the 'family friendly' lovers are doing to this country. Since the last ten years, and especially the so calles war on drugs, Thailand has been changing from an exiting, free travelling destination with lots of place for beach parties and backpackers, into a boring 'family destination' meaning; attracting tourists who are welcome to spent all their money in some resort, in two weeks, and then get out! And what about the explosion of beer bars on Koh Phangan and Samui since that time, are they so family friendly then ?? I would say, after all this time in thailand, that there are enough family 'friendly' places in Thailand already with beaches taken over by private resorts, let places like Koh Phangan and Koh Tao be the same as they were before ( for Samui it's too late already ) and let the people spend some money on a drink and a party if they want to, instead of spending all their money in some horrible resort and never return to Thailand again!
