  1. Thanks. Do they have to accept it? If i had a contract I would of received a bonus. I never signed anything in English in the past 2 years. I may of signed something in Thai, I feel that this was a trick used.

Why is it a trick to have contract in Thai language in Thailand. If they didn't provide a translation, maybe it was up to you to get one?

  2. Would a contract of some sort not have been required to get the work permit?
are you sure you are not on a rolling contract that is renewed yearly without requiring a signature unless conditions of employment are changed.
sounds a bit strange to me

Agree, there must be some sort of contract, I'm sure.

  3. 1 Maybe I am a dumb , but I love Australia, I could not bear to sever my ties.
    3. In this regard I am an even dumber - I don't know how to play the market - I get 4.77% at the moment and we have "deeming" in Australia. It means the GOV deems us to be getting X% therefore if we can get more it is not counted towards income. At least that's how I understand it.

What happened to point number 2) ?

  4. So it seems your best bet is to keep your 800k Baht equivalent in a U.K. Bank where you can get online access to it from Thailand. Get a return flight and come over to establish step 2.

If you don't know, there are always different ways to 'skin a cat' here (Visa Agents) and suggest you are very careful with who you trust (Thai or farang). You may find many experts here propping up a bar in Thailand. Take things slowly and keep your money safely in your account.

Have you considered the other neighboring countries too? As some seem to have more relaxed visa regulations.

  5. Listen ,Thai women are the same as all women around the world ,if they love you ,they stay with you and take care of you ,as you do to them ,  thats it ,end of . if a woman is with you just for money , then up to you what you do , if she is a good sh --- then stay till the fun ends ,

I sort of agree and disagree with you.
Western 'perceptions' are sometimes very different from that of a Thai. To me, it seems like (for good&Bad) relationships are considered by 'locals' more like a business transaction (income v expenditure). Stability is key and sometimes not just for the partner & kids. For some expats, that just does not compute in their 'westernized' minds just like the idea of faithfulness when a partner is away for very long periods of time.
    Just my 2 penneth.

  6. Now that season 4 has finished it's time to binge watch "Line of Duty." I downloaded and watched Season 3, just to remind myself how good it was.
Also enjoying current season of "The Blacklist."

Season 4 is well upto par.
    Have you tried....
    Broadchurch
    Prime Suspect 1973
    The Fall
    Happy Valley

    All great U.K. Crime drama's.

  7. The OP should contact Paul Bodkin of Isaan Pools. He has many satisfied customers. He can show you photos of finished pools and photos of pools under construction in Buriram Province and Surin Province. He can take you to see the quality of the pools he is currently building in Buriram Province. There are forum members who will confirm his after the installation genuine service of a swimming pool in Isaan. He has a web site with a basic price calculator. He is not a franchise like Desjoyaux or JD Pools. He was an "foundation man" in the UK.  He did not build my current swimming pool. He will be the contractor for my next swimming pool in Buriram province.

That's the guy I was thinking about. Thanks for filling in the blanks, David.

  8. I think it comes down to terminology again. If the work permit holder indeed has a 1 year visa, then it will be multi-entry for 90 day visits, ie, the visa holder has to leave the country at least every 90 days. If that is the case then they don't have to do 90 day reporting.

If however the work permit holder is on a 1 year extension of stay based on work/marriage, etc, then yes, they will have to do 90 day reporting if they intend being in-country for more than 90 days.

Not an expert, but that's how it works for me.

Your right & previous poster is wrong

  9. Most resorts are top quality and very luxurious plus 'All-inclusive' packages. Snorkeling is (maybe) one of the best places in the world and a great place for a romantic couples holiday. Your picked-up from the airport by either luxurious speedboat or Sea-plane.

Personally, I think 2 weeks might be a little long to stay on one of the island resorts.

    Highly recommended.

  10. As one poster stated here the credit binge is being fueled by land owners putting up the deeds to greedy bankers to buy new cars etc. As he also stated they will be coming some day to claim their prize. As the price of land here has sky rocketed bankers are falling all over themselves when you flop a deed down.

Are you speaking from 1st hand experience or just what you 'think'?
