  1. Hi all,

I'm just after a bit of help? Looking for a decent swimming pool to take a group of kids (age between 6-12). We are Nong Kung Si (so Kalasin, kk and udon thani all driveable). I've looked at Dino Water park but it's a bit pricey to be honest. Any suggestions?

    Many Thanks

Go to the Dino park after 4pm and it 1/2 price (or it was the last time I went).
We all thought it was a really good place too.

  2. As an employee, about 60% net.

But my salary (same American company) was much higher. Huge child benefits and 100% mortgage interest (and every other kind of interest) deductible. 180% car tax (there is no motor industry). At that time, mortgages stayed with the house at fixed interest rates. Quite commen to take over five existing mortgages! No poverty any where. Seriously, happy, industrious, civilised society! ( Don't tell anyone)

Wow, that's interesting. Gawd knows how the Sturgeon and her tiddlers could change Scotland into something like that.

  3. Had an RD400 back in the day. Best cornering bike I ever owned.

    Me too!

Got a blow-out the first time I ever rode it with my then girlfriend (wife No.1 to be). Weaved through stopped traffic and straight into the foyer of the Twickenham Odeon ( I sh1t you not!!!)

  4. Helicopter Dick

A sexual display wherein a male gyrates his pelvis so that his flaccid penis whirls in a radial manner like the blades of a helicopter. Such a display is often used to impress a female or females before a sexual act.

Jane was uncertain as to whether she would allow John to perform the act of vaginal penetration until he used his helicopter dick maneuver, then she readily succumbed.

    What's a double helicopter or a Chinook?

  7. Absolutely no idea - I actually know very few Brexiters, and those few I do know all conform to the same type of personality, but I try to avoid stereotyping people so I will resist the urge to suggest that there is one fundamental set of reasons.

I believe the reason U.K. agreed to Brexit is the exact same reason you want to take back control within Scotland. To be able to 'sign-off' our own laws/trade deals and secure our borders from freeloaders rampaging across Europe.

I seriously worry that what you want, will ultimately damage your lovely country & people.

  8. Only guy I know in MS karm is Mister (Mr) Yim. There was a thread a couple of years back about farang bars there, so may be worth doing a couple of searches here. I'm sure there are a couple of 'haunts' around there, but cannot remember their names.

  9. Then you need to help me understand better - what did you mean when you highlighted the fact that New Zealand produces 'stuff'?

My position is nothing about shields but about a fairer, more equitable society. I think, however, that it is you who is stuck in some romanticised notion of a time long passed.

I take it you haven't bothered to do any research about country sizes? Well how about Austria?

We don't get free NHS, social security etc. We do have tax payers just like England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Do you really feel that Scotland would get a fairer, more equitable society when run from Brussels ?

  10. She is quite well traveled but she never suggested that farang get something for nothing. She was telling me what many Thais believe. She doesn't think that way herself and your condescending attitude toward her college education shows me YOUR attitude toward Thais. Arrogance.

How long have you worked in a Thai University?

It's the education system that I was laughing about and how the (Thai) degree's are seen internationally.

  11. While I expected the TV "Thai Way or the Highway" crew to shift it all off on me, I DO have independent confirmation of my feelings. My 37 year old, college educated, gainfully employed girlfriend has told me many times that most Thais are extremely jealous of farang and feel we are getting something we don't deserve. I have had the idea that we are "taking jobs away from Thais" shoved at me on so many occasions that it's astonishing to note how many Thais believe this garbage. I saw it as a tourist during the financial crisis back in the nineties. Posters depicting Thailand as a beggar, dependent upon the Japanese and the USA for a hand-out. The delusion of being downtrodden is always blamed upon outsiders, never on the Thai elite. I see a similar dynamic in the American south, where the poorest, trashiest people invariably vote Republican, the very group of people who lord it over them while assuring them that they are
acting in their best interests. Peasant delusions die hard.

How well travelled is your '37 y.o. College educated (Bwaahaa) employed girlfriend' and how would she know farangs get something for nothing?
Most farang expats have worked harder, longer and under greater pressure than most Thai's could ever imagine.

  12. they tend to collect a  cash fine rather than handing the cases on to the prosecutors.
i am just wondering if they are giving themselves rewards for all their good work. i wish i had the money to give myself a cash reward.

Maybe that cash should go to the 82 families (so far & rising) who have lost loved ones on the worlds most dangerous and Un-policed roads?
