Not necessarily. Back about 2009 in Chiang Mai totally out of the blue I received in the post a brown envelop with a window  that I could see a green federal check. The envelope was addressed to me at my address at the time. I opened it and I be ... a refund check from the IRS for about 200 dollars. About two weeks later I went to my bank (Bangkok Bank Thapae Road) for business and deposit 3 checks, two being personal and the 1 from the IRS. When I received my bank book back I was surprised that the IRS refund check had been automatically credited to my account. The bank told me that all US Federal checks were honored this way by Bangkok Bank.

I am 72 and live about 2 km from  Surin Immigration. I ride an electric scooter all about and even visit SI. There are holes in his story. Never had any issue with Surin Immigration.

I agree but as I said there was no misunderstanding on my questions and answers. The rumors are rampant on local media about the situation at SI&CC. If someone needs to due a bounce they are going to have to go to the crossing and take their chance.

1. Surin Immigration is NOT moving to Surin it is staying in Kap Choeng. BUT they are plaining on a new office in Surin at what they call the new government office.

2. The BIG ONE. The Chong Chom Crossing IS NOT CLOSED BUT Americans, French and Italians can not use it and other nationalities may be added. If you are one of the three I mentioned Thai Immigration will not stamp you out.

The only thing Cambodia wants is the 1800 baht for a U Turn as for the app have not heard of it. At this moment RUMORS are abound that this crossing has or will be closed. This crossing as of this moment is open.
