That other number was given to me the the first time and I played along.. It turned out to be computerized BS. I called back the second time to  2679411000 and  was able to get my answer. The first time I got through I am under the impression that the lady had not a clue and that is why she put me over to the 1-800 number. The second time the lady took her time with me AND was able to get results. Take your time and do not give up. That lady was able to confirm my name, ssa number, mailing address in Thailand.

I just talked to the IRS on the number that forum member "andy" gave out. (Thanks again) It did take two calls but I was able to give and get info. The lady I talked to was in Pennsylvania. After she understood where I was and what I wanted she verified over the phone my name, my SS# and my Thai address. I was told that the check was mailed to me at my Thai address May 1. I did fill 2018 but not 2019. As for the the usage of the IRS sit here in Thailand I still say its is NFG and very politely I let her know that and she did confirm that they have problems. I don't look for the check any earlier than the ended of next week. My experience with depositing a US Government check was to Bangkok Bank 2008 and it was instantly accredited to my account. That number again 267-941-1000 Be patient and it does work.

I know one who went back about 2 weeks ago. He w3as unable to cross at Poipet but eventually got in at Ban Laem/Prum.

I live by this crossing and as of this post they they are only allowing some commercial trucks to cross over such as 10 wheelers with 300 pigs each in them. There are no migrant workers being allowed in or any one else crossing over from the Chong Chom side. On the the Thai side at the Chong Chom Market area Thailand has very large customs yard where all commercial trucks are processed. I counted 20 trucks most were 22 wheelers waiting to cross over. This custom yar is next door to the Chong Chom market which is huge and was mostly ran Thia money and Khmer labor. That market is now being demolished for the expansion of the 214 highway upgrade and a new market to be built at that location. The area is a ghosts town with no work for the foreseeable future.

SJ Doungiai Farm is about 30 km up the road from me. Their shop and restaurant are on the 214 just north of Prasat/Surin. This is strictly a Thai operation.

I had as I remember 6 checks. Bank drafts, certified, personal and the IRS check. The IRS check was the only one with instant credit. All others took the normal 21 days for me. I remember the bank manager saying that all US government checks were automatically credited. No idea if that still holds true today. It would be nice if others who receive theses checks and deposit it in a Thai bank would comment as to waiting period.
