And where is written that if he/she goes shopping doesn't wear a mask???

The rationale is that Thai people have complained to the district chief that one or more have not worn masks, which is the rule imposed here. I would suggest that occurred when they go shopping, not when they're sitting at their remote beach.

As you are aware, Thai people are paranoid about catching Covid 19, and any laxity from farangs is like pouring petrol on a fire.  Apart from that, at least one of the group must have annoyed a Thai, for that extreme reaction by the district chief who cannot lose face if he ignores a complaint.

Best to double dose vaccinate everyone...

On the plus side you're not pedaling alien abductions, and alien DNA.

Ha ha. Good response. I can't pin point it, but I read on some medical review that human DNA is capable to mutate when the immune system is threatened.  Mutations occur all the time and generally they have no impact. Usually the body’s defence systems pick them up and fix the mistakes or destroy the faulty cells. Maybe I got lucky and the defence systems destroyed the Covid cells.  All I know is it worked.

Two doses are important to give the fullest protection and teach the body to make antibodies and T cells to block and kill Covid.

The Com-Cov study, which looked at giving the doses four weeks apart in 850 volunteers aged 50 and above, found:

    • AZ followed by Pfizer induced higher antibodies and T cell responses than Pfizer followed by AZ
    • Both of these mixes induced higher antibodies than two doses of AZ
    • The highest antibody response was seen after two doses of Pfizer, and the highest T cell response from AZ followed by Pfizer

Well, in my case when I suffered from Covid in December last year, the end result was beneficial Presumably, because my immune system was up for the job. The virus  - not getting any joy apart from a headache and loss of smell attacked the largest organ on my body, my skin. Huge blobs attached on top of my DSAP dry scaly patches for several days, until my DNA fought it off leaving my skin better looking for years.

High levels of D3 and Zinc worked well. As for vaccines, they will be not taken.

  4. IMHO, it only takes one infected person to bring about a cluster. That is the real issue - not drinking alcohol after 9p.m. In at least one restaurant, that opens all day, which I've been to in Chiang Mai, there are customers inside not wearing masks, neither are most of the staff during the day. Whether that is a higher risk after 9pm than before is against the odds. Covid doesn't hibernate for several hours.

And as for the government ministers, words fail me to express their incompetence, naivety and greed, in not providing shed loads of vaccines to their citizens, while double dosing themselves, and focusing on speculative tourism income, instead.

    Which is not small beer...

  5. No vaccine has been tried and tested long term. Clearly preventable side effects, some serious to health has already occurred, which makes me reluctant to participate. However, there are long-term tried and tested drugs available which could be utilised beneficially for the early stages of infection, such as the Thai herbal flu vaccine and Ivermectin. In the latter case, it treats any variant because it blocks the virus protein spike entering the human cells.

  6. My sympathy is with the lady's family. Devastating whatever the cause. However, a tried and tested for decades (human version) medical drug, Ivermectin, with no side effects, is known to  successfully treat covid 19 patients.  Whereas ALL covid vaccines have not yet been comprehensively and fully tested.

It would appear that all major countries' governments , apart from India and maybe a few S American countries like Brazil, have ignored Ivermectin to date. Where it has been tried e.g. India, the new infection cases have dropped  significantly.

I would really like to know why the human version has not been given approval for continuing usage - or at the very least, comprehensive scientific studies.  Perhaps it's all about Big Pharma making money, paying congress to ignore, keeping people in the dark, and not caring about peoples health.

    Shame on them.

The wife was sent this photo by her daughter last night.  I don't know if that's the sort of thing she has in mind or just an example.

What would that cost ready-built on a housing estate and what would it cost to have built a a one-off?

I have no idea of how many bed or other rooms it might have.

    Nam house.jpg

On our estate in Chiang Mai, that new-built house (with minimal land) would have cost 2 million a few years ago. With Covid19 the prices have stalled rising, and should be about the same.

I would suggest the labour charges to be negotiable, as supply is more than demand nowadays.

Another loop hole closed, so the satanic alcohol can not propagate the virus ????‍♂️

If restaurants are allowed to open, it's easy to sit outside and drink alcohol bought from 7/11 or Mom & Pop stores. Complete waste of space, this government.

What they should be doing, first and foremost, is to get off their ass and immediately roll out the vaccine to young people in the 15-30 age group ASAP, before any other age groups.  The quickest way to help prevent further outbreaks, which will be inevitable for months, even years, to come.

  9. As many posters have said, Covid 19 is here to stay worldwide, whatever short term measures are taken. Therefore, the absolute priority has to be herd vaccination ASAP.

I'm going out on a limb here, but the riskiest people who infect others are those most likely within the 10 -30 age group. If vaccine availabilities are at a premium, delay innoculating the elders, and focus on protecting the elderly against the young, first and foremost.

AND FOR ONCE, START ENFORCING IT.

  10. Let Covid19 run its course, and ensure you are vaccinated, maybe also the children. I suggest you will not be able to resolve your predicament with your wife until it becomes clear that your job is safe and ongoing - and the world is returning to a level of continued normality as pre Covid.

At that point you should have an upper hand on any negotiations that could take place. Aim to cool down in the meantime, keep contact to the minimum, and don't get involved in anything relating to your marriage unless it's a slam dunk divorce reality with your possession of the children.

In other words, lock-down your self, banish any visitors  including your wife, and help your children grow up in your happy and loving atmosphere.

is that feasible? If not, use it as a draft plan to be amended as you see fit.

Its all about time spent and risk  in bars people tend to sit around longer and get closer to one another in a restaurant its dine and dash   (as a general rule, sure you can sit in a restaurant from 5am til 10pm  buy i think you get my point)

IMO, several 'restaurants' in Chiang Mai are pubs where people congregate for hours - and it sure ain't dine and dash. With a bit of luck they'll soon be serving alcohol today?
