Marriot South Pattaya has a huge pool. While I think it isn't open to the public, I have swam there once without staying there.

Maybe the proton web site would have this info?

It's nobody's fault. It's out of the agency's control. Go upstairs and talk to the noisy guy.

I love the 99 baht grill buffets where they have ice cream. I ate about 5 bowls of coconut ice cream last time... Who needs Haagen Daz?

The school call social services? Give me a break... They don't want to lose the tuition!

Citibank in USA is terrible. Fees and fees everywhere (unless of course you keep a high minimum in your checking like $6,000. In New York we are blessed with Commerce Bank (http://www.commerceonline.com) nowadays.

We already have the Mormons on bicycles.

I brainstorm about it, but I can't think of a twin for Pattaya. It really is so unique.

Let the show begin.

I read an article somewhere that the city is really changing in Myanmar, because the Chinese have moved into the city and are buying up the central areas. Chinese businesses everywhere. Prices have shot up, locals have sold for profit and moved toward the city outer areas. Certainly someone could make some serious money there. I think being Chinese can help.

Sounds like a lot of restrictions... Owning a condo in Thailand is so simple.

Why did you lose it?

The mistake you are making is asking the baht bus driver anything. Don't ask -- just get on.

Do you really think they will handle your 'complaint'?
Got to tell this story to Nan and Fon .... they will probably laugh their asses off.
Of course, it will. It emailed the following message to me a few days ago (that was for the first complaint regarding visa cost and exchange scams; I have another complaint concerning tour quality and non-fullfillment of obligations):
"Thank you so much for your complaint. I will contract to Organizer who response for this case to arrangement for this problem and I will contract to Maneerat Transport & Travel ,So I will try to solve your problem. If I have more information I will contract you immidiately.
Regards,
Wilawan Mingmuang
Tourist Assistance Center
Ministry of Tourism and Sports"
Of course, what realy hurts Maneerat are the warnings I post on 100 plus travel forums (including Thaivisa).
Well done. Let's see if it makes any difference.

I have never paid more than $20USD for my visa. There is no need to pay anymore because of leaving the same day. One time an official asked me for 100B for coming back the same day and I just said nothing. He gave me my passport and I was on my way. Easy. Folks, don't be so quick to reach into your pocket and pay anything someone tells you.
I went along with my $20 note to Poi Pet and the guard would not take it. He told me to go to the Cambodian embassy in Bangkok and they will take it. What are you going to do when you're on your own in no mans land ?
I was so pissed off that when I got asked for the Bt100 for leaving the same day - I just said no !
The idiot started whinging and whining but at that stage I didn't care. He stamped my visa and away I went. Lesson learned.
I'm sure if you dig your feet in hard enough, you will get away with paying just $20, but you have to ask yourself if it's worth the effort because if you piss off the wrong guard, I'm sure they could make the rest of your day pretty tough.
Works for me 100% of the time. And I don't have to dig my feet in very hard. Just stick to the real price, and you will get it. I didn't have to wait any longer than others for my visa. But, don't believe a word that assistant guy says who checks the paperwork and staples your photo to the paper. Bypass him and give your papers direct to the window. He is a little devil. I saw one traveler who was right after me pay 1000B for his visa plus a few hundred baht more to the assistant to make sure he gets his visa "fast". He got his visa after mine, right in line.

There are no discounts for 4 flights a year. But, you can pay attention to who will give you the most perks. I get a ton of miles on Northwest Airlines for my trips and so I am loyal with them. Are they the best? No. But I get the most miles with them.

I think it depends more on which side of the building you are in maybe -- and the time of day.

I would choose Bangna for the extra space -- but that's just me -- Bangkapiboy It's easy to get to CBD (with patience).

Flamingo Hotel has great western food in the Renoir restaurant. The place has a strong expat following (at least 50% gay). They have a dinner set price each evening. Otherwise, take her to one of the buffets at Lek Hotel, Diana Inn, or something like that.

Yes you were scammed. The visa is available at the border on the Cambodian side once you stamp out of Thailand for $20 USD with your photos. Don't take no for an answer and you will get it. I have never paid more than $20usd.

I really don't see any reason to panic. The market goes down today, then it rebounds and stabilizes. This is what happens. Just watch it go back up again tomorrow.
