Pattaya is no more dangerous than any other city in the world is my opinion. Basically, in any city if you go playing with street walking ladyboys you're bound to get robbed.

It is so easy just catch any baht bus going in the direction of Pattaya at your hotel driveway. Pay 10B when you get off.

I'm a big fan of the 150B lectures at Siam Society. But you really need to pay attention to the subject before deciding to go. Two out of the 3 lectures I attended were very interesting and worth my time. One I had to walk out of, since it was so amazingly boring.

I have been very interested in purchasing an Avanza. A Toyota sales rep indicated the Toyota Avanza will be discontinued, and is only available now on special order -- which takes at least a month to fill. Vios was recommended, as an alternative, since the resale value is better (one reason: because of not being discontinued). Clearly it is not a positive when your car is being discontinued. Salesman said parts would then need to be special ordered from Indonesia. First time I heard this. Does anyone else know about the Avanza being discontinued?
