Have you had a medical check up and opinion as to why your wound is not healing? Same thing happened to me in 2008. I had a cut on my foot and one year later it still had not healed. I finally decided to go to a hospital. I was thinking that maybe I had diabetes. 2 ct scans, one pet scan, one surgical biopsy and many other proceedures later turned out I had a non curable but easily treatable form of blood and bone marrow cancer. 4 months of chemotherapy and 6 plasma pherisis treatments and my foot was like new again..

Galare Thong is in center near night bazaar and easy to get red car or tuk tuk, cost for red car in the city 20 baht, tuk tuk cost depend where you want to go.

There is a 7-11 within a 5 minute walk.. Red bus will take you to Rimping supermarket for 20 bahts. Tuk Tuk will take you there for 60 bahts. I know they advertise 15 minute walk from night bazaar but in reality it is more like a 30 minute plus walk. It is not located in the centre of the city.. Renovation work is now finished. There are 3 bars located within 100 metres of the building but when I stayed there they caused no noise problems. They have a small restaurant operated by a husband and wife team. The husband is the cook and was trained at a large hotel. He does an excellent job and the prices are very reasonable. Winisa who looks after rentals for the condo owners speaks very good english and is willing to help you in any way she can.

I still don't trust Pepsi. They may have 33 cases before you got to them but now that you have told the whole world how long before they have 33 cases again. I have about two. I buy them where ever I can find them when I start getting down on them.

The big problem with Pepsi is they are s inconsistent. at least the day's of sinking low enough to drink Coke Zero are gone. Just kidding it is not a bad substitute.

I personally prefer this highlighted blue area as they are closer to shops and hospital and near parks and mountain, no flood and not too quiet.

agree with this. north-west definitely my favourite area of chiang mai to live. five minutes from the city on a scooter, easy access to nimmanhaemin and superhighway for grocery shopping, foot of the mountain and a few minutes from huay tung thao lake as well.

I also agree that this is a great area especially for people of your age..But do not commit to a one year lease until you have lived here for at least one month and start to get a feel of the city. One decent condo I know of that will rent by the week or month is Galare Thong.. There are many of us in Chiang Mai from our home and native land.

In United States and Canada refund on debit card is instant. Dont confuse debit card with credit card..Debit card is like paying cash. Credit card it takes several days for purchase to go through the system and then you have xxx days to pay your bank in full or xxx per month plus interest.

Its been said many many times here....dont expect the systems; rules; laws; anything to be like the standards you became used to back home. Accept it and move on.

And to be fair to the store, it sounded like they delivered the fridge free for you in the first place. "free" means there is a cost....2 men, truck, fuel and no doubt they loaded into your house.

stop being petty, your penalty for thinking the new fridge at Tesco was cheaper when Big C had one also!

I never said that the new fridge was cheaper at Tesco and further I did not know at the time of my original purchase the Big C had one also because it was not on display in the store.

My wife and I are moving soon to a newly purchased house and decided we wanted a new large refridgerator. We found one a Big C that we liked and purchased it. We paid with our debit card. The store clerk told us if we did not like it we could return it within 10 days for a refund. 2 days later while at Tesco we saw a larger model that we liked better. We phoned Big C and they told us yes they had that model and the price was the same as the one at Tesco.However we had to return the one we had at our expense.. After they had received our fridge we went to the store to arrange for the larger one. Now here is the part I did not like. We would have to pay for the new fridge with our debit card but credit for the one we returned would not be issued for a minimum of 7 days. I asked the store manager if they had a machine to take my debit card and remove the money from my bank immediately why they could not use the same machine to issue an instant credit..Of course her reply was company policy. I might add that the returned refridgerator was still in the original packing box never opened by us..Is waiting 7 days for a credit to be issued on a debit card purchase the norm in Chiang Mai.

Many of you have mentioned driving to a hospital. Several years ago while camping in Texas my neighbour was bitten on the arm by a rattlesnake. Within 15 minutes he was going into shock and unable to stand up. After he was bitten his wife immediately called 911. It took 20 minutes for the ambulance to arrive. However they had anti venom in the ambulance with them. He was treated on the spot then taken to hospital where he remained for 4 days. Now think about it. If you are able to drive yourself to a hospital it probably means you were not bitten by a poisonous snake.

I was just reading a supermarket brochure today from Canada... Extra large red cherries from California 65 bahts for 454 grams. Now get this one in same brochure shrimp product of Thailand. Cooked peeled and deviened size 31/40 .. 125 bahts for 454 grams.. Now try and find them for that price here in thailand.

I also am looking for fast reliable service..I live near the airport in a small moo baan off Mahidol road. Currently using TOT which is absolutely terrible. You also have to sign one year contract before they install. My neighbor is using 3BB and says speed and service very good. He let my try his computer yesterday and yes its faster than TOT but not by much...

2 other moobans, close to town, worth looking into = Nai Fan (near Night Safari) and Land & House Sivalee estate. Both are off Canal Road.

Wang Tan is fine is you enjoy airbus and boeings over your head 18 hours a day.

Don't forget to buy First Class insurance, do not just use 3rd class

True you cannot buy first class insurance on an older car. Not sure if it is 7 years. The insurance company I used said 10 years. However you can increase the public liability insurance to whatever amount you wish. I increased pl & pd on my wifes car to 5 million bahts..Lets face it if you are driving an old car you don't really care about the damage to your car. But if you run into a new mercedes benz and total it you want to make sure your have enough insurance to cover the damage. I guess if you happen to be unfortunate enough to kill someone in Thailand you don't need to have high pl & pd.. I read a few days ago on Thia visa about the bus accident in the south that killed 11 people..The insurance company is going to pay 400,000 bahts and the bus company 30,000 bahts.

You don't have to be a bum and give Thais a bad impression of farangs.

I purchased a used car from expat auto one month ago. I know they rent cars also. It is operated by 2 english speaking expats. They were totally honest about everything regarding the car I purchased. All in all it was a great experience.
