  1. You don't necessarily need SEO to drive traffic. You can get traffic to your site using forums like this in a question and answer format(where can I get?). Yahoo answers works well and any other little forum. Some guys get traffic putting their link in their forum signature, etc.

  2. Have any better ideas of where we could move? I've considered Philippines, Camodia, and Indonesia but those places all have issues. Thailand still rules for now anyways. However, I agree that at the rate things are going it is not looking up. We might have as few as 5 years left before there is nothing left to stay for. sad.png

  3. Jomtien ?

Russian beach you mean ? No customers for ladys there.

I hear that yoy get a package deal for places like soi welcome hotel in st. pertersburg or minsk for about 14000,-thb ! that is for 14 days incl. flight and brekkie. The blokes who picked up the birds last nite whete mostly scandinavian - as far as their accent gave away.

14000? No wonder there are so many of them. Costs me 45000 just to get over here.

  4. I am trying to buy some stuff online and it is a nightmare. Every time I purchase something it says it is fraud. How do other expats manage this? I have tried using a proxy but sometimes the fraud screen will detect if it is a corporate type proxy. I have to request each site to stop blocking my order as it is NOT fraudulent. Sometimes they just ignore me as if I am some credit card fraudster. It is all very frustrating!!mad.gif

  5. Had nothing to lose coming here anyways. No wife, crappy job, crappy life. I came over with some credit cards and a bit of savings. I've been bouncing around South East Asia for years now. Not going back to the West even if I have to live on water and sticky rice. So for me it couldn't get any worse. Only wished I would have had some more savings in the bank to make the transition easier(couldn't save much because my crappy job paid so little).

  6. My wife (who is not Thai) and I have lived in Thailand, seasonally, for the last 13 years returning to the States each summer for a couple of month to fine tune our business. For the first several years we lived in Bangkok near Asoke and loved it there. I was never much interested in the sex/bar scene being happily married but found plenty of interesting diversion in Bangkok where I met people from all over the world and all walks of life.

In 2007, we had a child and last year, a close friend convinced me that we should move to Pattaya and enroll our child in the same school that his child attends. After living here for the last 7 months I am counting the days until the school term is concluded so that we can leave this awful place.

I avoid Pattaya proper, from Walking Street to Naklua as I realize that this area is geared toward those who come for debaucherous pursuits, but it seems that no matter where you go in this town, you encounter people who tend to be rude, self obsessed and duplicitous. This is true of foreigners and Thais alike. Any veneer of civility is generally pretty thin. Driving here is an absolute nightmare where there is no regard whatsoever for etiquette or respect for the rules of the road.

Pattaya seems to attract the very worst kinds of people and anyone who would choose to raise children here lacks good judgement in my view. This is a town for selfish hedonists. I can't wait to get out of here. It's the worst place I've ever lived.

    Great. When you leaving?
