If I had a hubby & kids, I'd like to divide our time 75% USA, 25% Thailand. USA for English, less pollution, better (primary & uni) education, parks, libraries, community activities. Thailand for the relatives, culture, knowledge of Thai, appreciation of Thai food and fruits, and the intensive high school math.

Yes- this is right. They don't need to see your car. Go to your land transport office in another car, or a taxi, with all of your paprwork in hand.

well actually we thought so too and send a thai person to do it but after driving to that place ( i guess it's the same place where you get driving licence ) the guy came back and said they need to see the car!!! which never happened to me before!

Think it might have something to do with the 5 years of the car. As far as I know, for new cars, the only 2 things you need are the car registration book and the insurance payment receipt (oh, and a bit of money ). However, for older cars, you will have to have a checkup (though I've heard you can just have a reputable car center issue you a checkup verification doc). I believe the checkups begin for cars over 5 years old.

This is just what I've heard, my car is still new so I'm not sure of all the details.

Yes, (Thai?) guys tend to "khao khang tua eng" (be biased towards themselves), taking any little positive sign and magnifying it to convince themselves that they are still a big part of your life/heart and belong there.

I dont know if I am correct but I have noticed that the Thai Chinese seem to be far more abrupt and lacking in manners. It may be a generalisation but it has been my experience.

Yes rubbish coffee, I wasn't sitting there for the coffee and she was with her colleagues on a lunch meeting. If you've ever been to a Starbucks in Bangkok (thonglor, langsuan, emporium, siam square..) you will quickly understand the overall quality of women who seem to frequent it. I'm sure slightly better than a lass waiting tables in a greasy spoon.

Not necessarily, as "gig" is a fairly broad term that can encompass a whole range of relationships, including mia noi (can actually be a euphamism for a mia noi).

Try Kinokuniya bookstore at Paragon. They have a huge comics section and I believe I saw some of those the other day though can't be sure as I was not specifically looking for comics myself.

In this case คร้าบบ is indeed "krubb..." drawing out the word to make it sound playful (as the OP probably figured out), The OP's initial misunderstanding of it being "kraa bop" incurred from seeing the two บ together (bb) and thinking it was another word as opposed to just drawing out the end of the worddddddd....

There is such a thing as ครับผม (krub pom) but it's not was intended for the OP's situation.

as an extra: a playful spellings of "krub pom" might be ครับป๋ม (krub-bpom)
