  1. Very valid points, but the snapcaps would be easily identified as being such. I have used and taught with dummy rounds that, apart from weight and absence of a primer, do resemble a normal round to a greater extent than snapcaps. However, both snapcaps and dummy rounds are only used when teaching practical courses to advanced students to simulate a stoppage and the student needs to react and clear quickly and efficiently. The original story says it was a beginner area/course and there would be no justification in using them even if the range had them. She sounds a bit more advanced than a beginner as she obviously knows how to load a magazine, fit it in the weapon and then cock it to facilitate firing. Her story sounds a little dodgy to me. Perhaps a check on how well she knew the instructor would be informative. Instructors and students do get in close proximity when teaching, and afterwards on occasions. Either the range ignored or did not enforce all reasonable safety precautions (this is Thailand) and left live rounds lying on the ground, or the woman found what she thought was a foolproof way to commit murder.
  2. Tigers do not live in herds, or whatever collective noun you wish to apply. Tigers choose to live in solitude and isolation and are very territorial; they only fight and kill others to protect their territory. The captive conditions they are forced to live in are totally contrary to their natural way of life and will cause stress, anxiety and behavioural problems.
  3. Seems a little strange that you seek information and assistance from a public forum but wish to specify who can respond; perhaps you should try Google? Judging from the responses so far a significant number of the members here do not fall within your category of acceptable opinions and have produced sound logical reasons why the activity you seek should be avoided. I'm surprised the moderators have not removed your question as it obviously insults several of the members of this forum.
  4. Taking the Philippines as an example, figures suggest that approximately 70% of the adult population are unbanked and rely entirely on a cash or barter process. The digital processing of funds will make these people a priority and there are already developments in the field of virtual banking looking to include this large population group. Inclusion is always good but there should be serious concerns in respect of the financial knowledge and computer skills needed by this large segment of people to protect themselves against the various digital frauds, scams and tricks happening every day. Currently, financially experienced and computer literate people in western countries are regularly falling prey to the scammers and losing significant amounts of money as evidenced by published statistics. When considering this unbanked population of people in the Philippines they are far more likely to fall victim to online scams and any amount they lose is significant and quite possibly devastating as they do not have the reserves to deal with even a small loss when they currently live a day-to-day cash existence. Digital payment is pushed by the financial sector due to the potential savings in staff and real estate, they have yet to show themselves as effective in the protection of customers using digital payments. With cash you can only lose what is in your wallet, not everything you have.
  5. Is this the Vertical take off and landing aircraft? Thai pilots are already halfway qualified as they have mastered vertical landings in all the other aircraft!
  6. If you sit on the fence you get splinters in your ...........
  7. If the usual methods of bank statement and utility bill are difficult try using the 90 day report? I seem to remember that you get confirmation of report that may give enough details on name, PP number and address. Alternatively I think the Immigration gives a letter on proof of address when renewing driving license.
  8. Countries are not immoral, corrupt or guilty; neither are their entire populations. Immorality, corruption and guilt start at the top when Governments abuse the people's love of their country for their own particular agenda. Often stoked by lies and propaganda to trick their own people. Countries do not start wars or invade other countries people do. As for letting God sort it out it seems strange that this all powerful and omniscient being always seems powerless and ignorant of all the immorality, corruption and guilt in the world. To the best of my knowledge the people of both countries worship at the same church!
  9. True, but this could also be a preparatory stage of a fraud or attempt at money laundering. Scammers who put money into your bank account - 9Finance (nine.com.au)
  10. In the past I have read your erudite and well thought out posts and generally agreed with them. In this instance I think you are totally wrong to suggest people should attack Russians wherever they are. Even if they support the invasion it is still unsure if that support is based on full understanding of the facts of what is happening or simply due to the propaganda that has been their only information source. You are trying to incite hatred towards a group of people who may only be guilty by association or where they were born. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth only results in everybody becoming blind and starving. I do agree that Putin may resort to a nuclear strike when cornered but it would seem highly illogical to attack the US in the knowledge that they have almost parity in number of nukes but probably greater effectiveness in terms of accuracy and delivery. Poland is possible but his rhetoric so far has been to blame the British Foreign Secretary and PM for their actions in support of Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions; which he has already claimed is a declaration of war.
  11. Remarkable irony for Russia to quote International Humanitarian Law when it is engaged in an unprovoked invasion of a sovereign democratic nation and randomly targeting civilians. Hello pot, kettle calling!
  12. They probably did use the same propeller. Although sensible rules regarding chain of evidence usually mean that any exhibits are not released until after a Coroner's investigation, and Criminal investigation if justified from that. In answer to your question about the propeller being found quickly it is not surprising as they are quite heavy and would sink quickly to the bottom. Strong currents may cause some movement and are usually more effective against rounded objects. The propeller, if affected by the current, may turn over and dig in further. Considering how soon they went to look for it I am not surprised it was located quickly; after all they had probably cleaned and polished it so it was quite shiny ????
  13. Looks like I wont be called as an expert witness for them either?
  14. That is a good thing as the one on the boat at the time of accident should have been secured as vital evidence as it is alleged to have caused injury to the victim. There is absolutely no need at all for the same propeller to be used for any reenactment.
  15. The use of the pig's leg is of no evidential value as it is of a totally different weight, density and buoyancy in relation to a living human body. To throw it in while tied to a rope does not in any way mimic the action of a person falling overboard and the elasticity, although limited, of the rope will cause the pig's leg to recoil forward under heavy acceleration by the speed boat. The speedboat, to the best of my knowledge, was a single outboard engine where the propeller is outside the silhouette of the boat. It is potentially lethal but only if turning and a person is close to it. If a person fell from the boat while it is moving then in most cases they would fall clear of the propeller as the person and the propeller are moving in opposite directions at the time of the fall. It is hard, but not impossible here, to believe the boat was moving while she was allegedly relieving herself off the back of the boat. Considering the reports of her being fully clothed when found it is also hard to believe that she was doing so. The reason for relieving herself off the back of the boat was claimed as being the onboard toilet was broken however these are simple mechanisms and should not have caused any problems in being used and then manually flushed. It is highly likely the on board toilet was a flush and forget and not linked to any onboard sewage container. The best avenue of investigation would be to secure all mobile phone records to ascertain who and when the others called after the incident. The phones also have an automatic locator and it is possible to make a reasonably accurate assessment of location and speed from that.
  16. The telephone book when held against the chest of a suspect and then hit with a hammer allows the force to be felt over a larger area whilst avoiding the contact bruising caused by blunt force trauma.
