I saw recently an interview with Elon Musk about AI and his words were very disappointing about the future of mankind.
AI, Robots and implants would degenerate human beings to "Programmed beings" with no onw identity in the near future.
Very bad future for our children. They are already half way there with social media

Artificial intelligence, created by people with Low intelligence for use by those with Zero intelligence. We haven't yet fully understood how the human brain functions but we are expected to trust something created by the human brain. What could possibly go wrong?!

There is no difference. Somehow religious brainwashing and indoctrination of children is still considered acceptable despite there being no more evidence of an all powerful sky wizard than there is of a fat guy in a red suit delivering presents to all the well behaved children on the planet by magical flying reindeer. If this school is 'illegal' as it spreads misinformation, then so should every single faith school.
What?! No Santa Claus! Now you're just being silly!

Quite scary, but hard to spot the difference between this and religious schools.

And, you began living in Hong Kong what year?
You see, I am just reporting what I saw when I lived in Hong Kong.
I saw many police officers.
But, I did not see guns.
I am just reporting what I personally saw.
Where did you see the guns, 45 years ago, when you were in Hong Kong, at that time?????
No guns.
No guns.
So, when I was in Hong Kong, years ago, the first and most remarkable thing that I noticed was the fact that the police walked around the city of HK and Kowloon without guns carried on their belts.
Quite odd, I thought, at the time....
In the first picture they are parading for inspection, guns do not HAVE to be worn.
In the second picture you cannot tell if they are wearing guns from that angle. Prior to the mid to late 80's guns were worn on the left in a cross draw holster.
In the third picture you have Chief Inspector Rod Mason as a Chief Inspector and company 2 i/c in a PTU Company. The multi coloured lanyard is a Commissioner's Commendation for some brave work cracking a drug smuggling syndicate as an undercover officer. The caption is wrong as he joined the HK Police around 1983. He has sadly passed away recently; so please be careful with what you say about him.
Prior to WWII the HK Police were armed.
Post WWII the HK Police carried -
Webley (first issued in 1930's)
Colt Police Positive
S&W Model 10
S&W Heavy Barrel Model 10
Uniformed officers on patrol have been armed in HK longer than you have been alive.

Close to it, yes....
Close is not over! The HK Police has been an armed police force pretty much since inception.

I recall a day in HK when police did not carry guns.
Sometime since that day, HK police began carrying handguns which they wear on their belts in holsters.
You must be over a 100 years old then! What day was this?

That's as maybe but in the time between his claim for asylum and processing he should have been kept in a secure detention centre - preferably a former military base along with all similar illigal entrants and deported with the minimum of investigation as to his reason for requesting asylum after wandering around Europe as it is alleged
It's not as if Britain has no experience of dealing with illegal immigrants and economic migrants. Hong Kong under British rule kept them in secure detention centres before processing and repatriation. For Chinese illegal immigrants from the Mainland it was the next day. For the Vietnamese the HK Govt footed the bill until their refugee status was decided; whereupon they were either shipped back to Vietnam or allowed to settle in HK or another foreign country. I'm not sure if the UNHCR ever settled the bill.

Sorry John Wayne, but you didn't save us after all.
Did the almost 12 billion usd (180 billion in today's money) from USA not help a little? Or could that be compared to current financial aid given to Ukraine after being invaded by an aggressor?

To the best of my understanding a foreign woman married to a Thai man has significantly less hoops to jump through when applying for extension of stay based on marriage than does a foreign man married to a Thai woman? Does this now mean that I should marry my brother in law instead?

they are just angry their territory is being taken over.
funny that eh ? when *other* kinds of protests happen in bkk they manage to amass thousands of officers to quell the uprising.
