The general unavailability of intellectual stimulation.
There's also the extreme version of Face, and it's attendant racism.
Agree with this. If I moved back to the USA I'd come back to Thai Visa and post every day just to show people how intellectually stimulated I was since leaving Thailand.
Absolutely. There are a number of TV members who do not (or no longer) live in Thailand but they post every day. I don't know if they think they are intellectually stimulating but some of them are usually very critical and negative. They never give praise or encouragement.

Good, keep up the pressure against illegal drugs.
I wonder what sort of punishment is metered out to these pushers?
-
".... are to face charges of illegal pollution"
Is there such a thing as 'legal' pollution?
-
Maybe not the biggest haul, but it all helps to maintain the fight against illegal drugs.
-
I love this bit "...who had sustained facial injuries during his detention by members of the public..." So innocently worded. .

Well done, keep up the pressure against illegal drugs (and weapons).

No matter how good the intentions of some people, rather just donate money to the tried and tested charity organisations like The Thai Red Cross Society

Makes me laugh, what a strange story to start the working week off with.
"...the chief monk of Bang Khan district, said he wanted to get to the bottom of the (phallus) dispute...."

Hopefully the EU will cripple them, it the only way they will learn, even Prayut is just all mouth & the big corruption still goes on with no intention to be stopped.
the only way Thai's learn is through loss of money so bring it on EU and teach these idiots something.
Do you live in Thailand, or are you saying this because any potential bans will not effect you?
Maybe he cares about people who are slaves. Maybe he cares about human trafficking.
Do you?
Yes.............. I never indicated otherwise.
I was merely interested to know if BuckBee is a resident, or living outside of Thailand, so as to give relevant cognizance to his expressed hopes.

Perhaps he cares about cheap seafood, regardless if it required the toil of thousands of tortured slaves.
'He' doesn't care about cheap seafood, 'he' prefers to eat meat. 'He' cares about Thailand and its people.
The long existing problems which have been ignored for so long, re; fishing / slavery are both currently being addressed albeit it is going to be a very difficult task, but what the hell - let Thailand be crippled so that "these idiots" can be taught a lesson....

Odd that such small calibre bullets could cause death. Must have hit vital organs.
I don't think that it can be generally considered a small caliber bullet. The .38 Special was the standard service cartridge of most police departments in the United States from the 1920s to the early 1990s.

Typical of the Junta logic. Why Junta wants to solve the fishing industry problem is NOT compassion with the slaves or stop the Thai boats owners. This is :
1- because European nations rumble.
2 - Junta has headache.
Typical of most governments, in general ?
Fishing problem is to be resolved for the ultimate benefit of the country.

Adam Sandler plumbing the depths again. He hasn't made a good movie since Happy Gilmore in 1996.
I'd be happy to say - "He hasn't made a good movie"

TBH I would rather see this cleansing operation to continue as long as possible, more and more of these corrupt officials are being exposed and presented to the courts, we all know that as soon as there is an elected government in place the process will stop or at least there will be an attempt to polarize it to one side or the other- unless of course the new political structure, reforms and charter have the desired effect.
Lets not forget there are many people previously in positions of power and influence who have creamed off the Thai people through their illegal activities sitting waiting for a knock at the door or who have already exited Thailand to evade exposure - the courts and possible asset seizures, they have a vested interest in getting to elections as soon as possible.
Yes, if this 'cleansing operation' was being applied evenly & fairly instead of using it as an excuse for exterminating your political rivals.
If you had a plague of rats in your house................................
Problem is, they are in every house & by exterminating them in only some the problem remains.
Generally they are more plentiful in certain houses because they were previously allowed to help themselves to plenty of cheese, with no restrictions.

Well done the PM for taking action, albeit it will not satisfy the anti brigade.

For this article after careful thought as a staff writer,I will show a photo of westerner in his car!
Quality journalism......................or maybe their arent any photos of Thais breath testing because clearly they dont drink and drive!
This writer continually uses irrelevant photos with his stories.

Would his superior officers have done the same thing if there was no video of the event? I sincerely WONDER. I don't think he would.
I doubt action would have been taken, if this had remained unknown, and not followed up.
Fortunately there was a video which resulted in online condemnation, which was brought to the attention of the PM who correctly took immediate action.
-
Yet another major crisis that this government has inherited and has to resolve. What an unenviable task.
-
One cannot deny that there is a genuine problem with "illegal and unregulated fishing" which also overlaps with the 'slave trade / human trafficking'.
-
Good luck Mr. PM. Yet another long standing problem has landed in your lap.

France made a bold decision and made it law, with the following provisions-
" In 2010, the French Parliament voted to ban the wearing of clothing that conceals the face in public places, becoming the first European country to restrict a custom that some Muslims consider a religious obligation. The so-called burqa bill — which also bans the wearing of masks, balaclavas and niqabs, which cover the face — went into effect in 2011 and does not forbid the wearing of the hijab, or head scarf... (specifically)."

How much you want to wager that Thais dont know how to spell Fracking less know what it is?
That's what first got my attention. I thought they had spelt it incorrectly.

Wow. I would hate to see your unhelpful advice...
