Sounds like a perfect set-up to lay siege to the temple, nothing in, nothing out, power, water, phones cut, I'm sure the prison dept will lend a mobile phone jammer to help the cause. Lets see how long before they change their tune.
Remember David Koresh, who led the Branch Davidians in a deadly 51-day stand-off against federal agents at the sect's Waco compound

sleazy idiot wanting to impress his girl by taking it too close to some island, then not coordinating the rescue effort. 6 months in jail for each death, sounds like a sentence from a court in thailand.
At least the periods are not concurrent. 16 years is still a long time, deservedly so.

Pleasant article, great photo showing what appears to be expected gentle Buddhist behaviour.
(btw - Not to take away from the article, but it should read 'Holy bull'. The calf is male)

This is boring. Another u-turn from Trump. No Muslim ban (it was just a suggestion) and now he gets neutralized by having to to suck up to the donors. No point in being a maverick if you are going to fold everytime you are challenged. Come on Donald, time to give the supporters something to cheer about. Biting the heads off of kittens usually get the mob chanting your name!
All the 'ewe turning' will confuse the rams.

Can anyone tell me the collective noun for paedophiles?
" muslics " ?

Mansour will be happy with this. According to their beliefs, he'll be rewarded with 75 virgins and eternal praise and rewards from the Prophet for being responsible for killing probably hundreds of men, women and children. ... I hope he enjoys the eternal darkness.
Who is to say that these virgins are pretty?
If they are virgins they may well be ugly, fat old frumps.

Such an iteresting photo. The various facial expressions, plus the many different hand gestures.

I had to smile when amongst all the commotion, a lady came out of a shop and promptly carried her bicycle safely inside.

Dictatorial. The photo says it best.

"... varying turnout estimates : 90,000 in Marseille according to the organisers, 3,500 said the police."
A touch of bias .... ?

Well done to the Solar Monk, who does not seem to be adverse to mix with the people in a room which is awash with Christian posters and pictures. I wish all beliefs could mix peaceably together.

It should be an easy matter to identify the temple's compound if the birds were indeed released in the compound as asserted by the PR officer. Seems to be an easily identifiable background.
"(photo taken)...in the temple’s compound and not at a follower’s home..."

Is there any reason why one of the accused is being manually assisted as to where he is pointing? Had he perhaps been pointing in the wrong direction?

Sad tale but at least he went out in a 'blaze of glory' as it were......
'a blur of glory'

" Nearly 300 people have been arrested and charged for taking part in the demonstrations.... 51 were convicted of breaking a 2013 law that effectively bans protests.
.....18 of the 51 were sentenced in absentia. Thirteen minors were referred to juvenile court over the protests....As military chief, el-Sissi led the overthrow of President Mohammed Morsi a year earlier amid massive demonstrations.
.... prominent activist Sanaa Abdel-Fattah gave herself up to police to start a six-month sentence passed against her last week for insulting the judiciary.
She refused to answer the prosecutors' questions on the grounds that the judiciary was controlled by the executive branch of government ,,,,she did not want to be part of what she described as a charade.
The widely publicized comments led to her being charged with insulting the judiciary......
Her surrender and subsequent transfer to prison Saturday was reported by her family and friends in social media posts and (then) confirmed by the officials.
..... activists.....also report widespread abuses by the police, including the torture of suspects.
el-Sissi has said human rights in Egypt must not be judged by Western standards....." Same, Same but different ? Some similarities but not so extreme.

I don't know if I am reading this incorrectly. 5 days or 21 days?
"likely to be indicted .... in mid-May, according to Pol Col Aekkaraj Ooncharoen"
"The public prosecutors will take about 2-3 weeks to study the file before they will be able to formally indict the suspect in the court."

No mention of a possible death sentence for the Thai 'gang members' ?
-
And to think... in another recent thread here, some forum members referred to people who helped the police as "snitches"... This witness is far braver than any of the cowards who committed this vile act...
"In fact, Ananchai said, hes the only witness to come forward,"
It would be great if those that can, would use the services of this brave person for any legal matters in future.

What is the difference between a catfish and a lawyer ? One is a bottom feeding scum sucker and the other is a fish ! Apologies to any decent lawyers out there, I know there are some
Attacking the people who are trying to hold to account yet another multinational conglomerate accused of putting profit above its customers seems a touch misdirected.
"...the people who are trying to hold to account yet another multinational conglomerate accused of putting profit above its customers ..."
are not doing this for ultruistic reasons. They receive considerable compensation for their successful efforts.
Ultruistic - showing a disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others; unselfish:"it was an entirely altruistic act" ·
"I question how altruistic his motives were"

What % of the Thai population are lactose intolerant.

Zuma has no morale compass and is an embarrassment to the country. He has set up his minions in government positions who will try and rally around him, and protect him.
It will be difficult to remove him. The ANC will also try and protect him to save 'face' - Thais are not the only ones who suffer from losing 'face'.
He is the epitome of bad governance, and is the culmination of many people's worst fears.

Well done Myanmar.
“The Parliament will enact laws that have advantages for the public, will revoke those that oppress its own citizens and will amend those that have flaws,”
Thailand take note.
