  1. Not to be particular...but anyone got a map of the area ?

We do not live in Bangkok and while the area is somewhat familiar, not 100% sure.

But just finding the Holiday Inn should be fine I guess and then go wandering about the area. Will have kids with me, so trying to cut down the amount of searching to a minimum and keep the walking for the exact area....can you get bts to the area or can walk from the bts station at silom?

  2. Particularly in Thailand since there are no laws are on the books for men who like to get off and make babies are hunted down and forced to pay financal support..coffee1.gif

There are international laws re child support.

As for a hooker hunting the father down, how will she know who he is amongst her many customers? Does she have all their names and contact details, etc?

Even if she could narrow it to a few clients, how is she going to prove to a guy it's his baby? A DNA test would prove it, but this must be done after the child is born.

Until shen she has no grounds to get any financial support from him, as he has no proof the child is his.

During the early months of pregnancy, at least, she has the option to abort. If not in Thailand, elsewhere where it is legal.

Even after a DNA test proving a guy is the father, from what i've read he is by law only looking at child support payments of about 6000 baht ($200 US) a month.

However many Thai prostitutes make very good money by Thai standards, in some cases more than their farang "johns". So i wonder if even international law would require they make any payments in such cases.

They make more than most english teachers.

  3. I was told the Aussies were waiting all set up in the bars long before the Yanks got to Pattaya.

    Nobody cuts our grass.

I had some mates organise a prostitute for me on my bucks night a few years back. I just couldn't bring myself to touch it, that thought of what she did was a huge turn off for me. It didn't go to waste tho, 1/2 dozen very drunk mates lined to have thier way with it. I must say I to think of them as dirty.

They are human beings as well you know in case you have not noticed.

Bank robbery should be legal, Banks screw more people than the worldwide population of hooekrs anyway.

True but not the sort you would have any relationship with.

Whats wrong with a sexual relationship ?

The oldest profession cannot be wrong.

  4. CKR is my acronym for Charoen Krung Road (Develop City Road)

Start at the T- junction of Silom with CKR (near State Tower).

If you walk back along Silom road directly past the Holiday Inn you can enter the Galleria of the Jewellerey Trade Centre. Lots of shops with rough gems and other mineral specimens.

If you turn right at the T junction and go a along CKR towards Chinatown you will find the Dino-poop shop on the left, but also there is another interesting shop on the right (on a corner).

If you explore around the area you may find other interesting shops.

If you want a personal guide, pm me, as I am in the area every few days doing a bit of personal business.

Thanks for the info, shall take the kids for looksie...i bet dino doo will be high on their list of must gets for bragging rights at school.

  5. Last month I translated in court for a rape case, the offender had just been released for the rape of a Thai woman, 2 days after his release he goes on and raped a foreign tourist and was once again released on bail. I posted on this forum and quite a few were giving me a hard time because I didn't agree with the perpetrator being released on bail.

I have translated in quite a few cases and 99% of the time the accused was released on bail, even once in a robbery/kidnapping where the court of first hearing handed down a 15 years and 9 months sentence, they released them on bail till the appeal court will make a decision.

It comes down to the simple fact that if you can pay the set bail amount, out you go unless of course you are a foreigner !

We can have long discussion about the right/pro/cons of bail but out here they seem to take it all very lightly. Concerning long sentences also that is a hoax, a Thai suspect I know of got 10 years for attempted murder and actually spend 3 years and 6 months inside, then released !

Do you do this court translation on request from a client, or are you appointed by the courts and then cannot choose which cases etc ?

Wondering how much this might cost...PM if shy.

It's the court/police that calls me, I'll do it if and when I'm available but lately pick up the phone less because I just don't agree with the "justice" I see.

    Cheers.

Wish I had a decent translator when I needed one several years ago...I would have won.

Would be interesting, but perhaps depressing getting involved in all the nitty gritty stuff of what goes on here.

  6. Thanks, heard about that shop.

Which is CKR road, is it the intersection where Thai Airways is on one corner and the same road where the bts does a lefty ?

If that is the road, you say on the left so is it between silom and suriwong I think is the other parallel road ?

  8. We need to keep all our women safe at all times - rape is a dastardly crime.

I too hope this clip goes viral

With burning the bra and all and equal rights, should they not be first and foremost be taking care of themselves ?
