  1. Out of curiosity ?,

Would you be happy with someone walking bare foot in your home IF

They had verucas, athletes foot or other contagious fungal infections :D

    How would you know?

In our home we provide slippers for visitors.

Just wondered how many other people do?

    Regards

    Ivan

    :D

    PS

Slippers are regularly cleaned , disinfected

Yes I always remove my shoes as it is far more hygienic. I don't want my baby crawling over a floor covered in all the things that I picked up outside or during visits to the toilet. Of course,to many posters on TV that might see this as trying to be Thai but in my opinion they are just ignorant and so screw them.

    Blimey,that's a bit aggressive isn't it??

You should see the post I started to write :o

  2. Wow My Mum in Law (Now in her late eighties), has a small Tattoo on the top of her right arm.

Never realised she was a rebel. :D:D:D

Just explained to my wife and when she stops laughing will post her thoughts on her rebel Mum :o

    Regards

    :D

Yeah some 'Hi So' girls have tats (not the protective ones), but i'm sure you'll find they are very discreet tattoos, not like the big ones we were talking about, anyway, even if it was a small one, I doubt most of them would let their family see it, particulary the older generation, infact they would probobally try to hide it. These girls know that by getting tattoos they are rebelling.

Tattoos are definatley not regarded highly by mainstream Thais, they are pretty conservative, and those with tattoos are seen as rebels.

  3. Big Congratulations to you both

May your nights be full of sleep,

    Advice????

I remember well the deprivation a little one can make!! :o

But at least overall a little sacrifice for the reward.

    ENJOY FARTHERHOOD

If that's "oral sex", they're doin' it wrong. :D

It’s a Library so perhaps oral defined as quietly spoken :D

Would count as “safe sex” ? :o

  6. Have you tried telephoning the airline?

Personally, up to now, always managed to collect luggage on arrival

    Regards

    :o

Say you are flying from LA to NYC to BKK.... If your check-in luggage is for some reason delayed or sent to a different location other than NYC, and you are flying to Bangkok, does the domestic American airline deliver your luggage to Bangkok at a later time?
  7. I smoked a pipe for 30 odd years, :o

Where do you get your information from that you do not inhale?

I certainly inhaled all smoke, (cigars included).

    Regards

    :D

Giving up altogether is much, much, much cheaper, and adds lots of years to your life.

Cigar and pipe-smoke is not inhaled into the lungs but only tasted in the mouth and then exhaled. Therefore, any cancer risk is minimized. Some risk of mouth or lip cancers but not throat or lung. In addition, most cigar/pipe smokers only indulge a few times a week and this past time is not addictive as these tobaccos do not have manipulated nicotine levels nor is the nicotine absorbed by the lung tissues and into the body.

I would think just breathing the filthy air in Bangkok or Pattaya or many other places in LOS is likely more dangerous than an occasional cigar or toke on a pipe :D

  8. Have to air this, wanted to sit in the garden with some lights, a few beers. I need our usual extention lead to power the strip light. Where is it? Mighty fine question. No-where to be seen, searched all over the house to no avail.

Does anyone else have their wives hiding stuff or is it just me? :D

Ok Time of year for Panto So maybe?

  12. One Monday morning a postman is walking the neighbourhood on his usual route.

As he approaches one of the homes he notices that both cars are on the drive, his wonder is cut short by Bob the homeowner coming out with a load of empty beer cans and wine bottles.

"Wow Bob, looks like you guys had a hel_l of a party last night." the postman comments.

Bob in obvious pain replies," Actually we had it Saturday night, this is the first I have felt like moving since 4am Sunday morning." We had about fifteen couples from around the neighbourhood over for a party and it got a bit wild. hel_l, we got so drunk that around midnight we started playing WHO AM I."

The postman thinks a moment and says, " How do you play that?"

Bob continues between hung-over gasps," Well all the guys go in the bedroom and we come out one at a time with a sheet covering us and only our erm old fellahs showing through a hole in the sheet. Then the women try to guess who it is."

The postman laughs and says," dam_n, I am sorry I missed that."

  13. As has been noted, the Thai GSM system does not support general Caller ID suppression. The service is {was?} available but I've only ever come across it in use by senior military, police & politicos.

    Not nosey Just curious,

  14. Please, Go look at the war graves in Thailand before placing fingers on keyboard.

With great honour I took my Fathers place at the British Legion parade to commemorate the sacrifices made by his generation so that we now have our freedom.

Remember the people who died to give YOU the freedom to place fingers on key & write what you believe.

The red poppy is symbolic of the poppies on Flanders that appeared after.

    I WILL REMEMBER

    I WILL NOT FORGET

    enjoy your freedom,

    Regards

    :o

    they all did die needlessly.

every day is good to learn from history and not to make mistakes again - we have only one life and dying or killing workers who speak a foreign language in the interest of the ruling class and industrialists (as is the case with every single war) and not in advancing interests of your own class is a waste of our life.

the first world war (the end of which we remember today) is a classic example of a colonial and imperialist war where there was no any other reason than economical interests.

Spoken like a true first year know-it-all university student. Can't you can the sanctimonious lectures for one bloody day while we honour some dead relatives and friends? Can you piss off and get over yourself for that long?

and you are the 'i know all about better because i am a soldier', right?

all what londonthai ask was to wear some 'white poppies for peace' whats wrong with that?

if you and the others insist it's your topic and white poppies wearing londonthai have to piss off -keep in mind this is thailand related forum in the first place and with a lot of international user from various cultural background. english is just the lingua franca we use here, but it's not about commonwealth culture. differences english native speaker often tend to forget or not to cognize.

so maybe londonthais comments have no place here in this thread, but than has this thread no place in this forum.

and londonthai have a point, if you need a special single day to pay some tribute and honour the dead soldiers then you are the sanctimonious, hypocritical one.

and yes, so you need that lesson on your very special day. keep in mind every day - war is sh_t.

    peace

  15. Thank you for starting this thread....I've kept this all bottled up inside me....I have a million of these stupid Homepro staff stories. Too bad I have to work. I could go on for hours. :D

One or to complaints/problems OK :D

BUT to continually return having a million of these stupid Homepro staff stories

I am amazed at your persistence & hope for better service.

I envy you your patience :o

    Regards
