The grip and road feel difference when I changed to the Michellins is staggering that I wished I changed them earlier.

Would you happen to remember what type/model of Michelin was that?

As for air pressure loss on tubeless tires, it's usually the valves that are leaking. Make it a habit to change to new valves everytime you change into new tires, theyre cheap and available everywhere.

You mean the valve inside the threaded tube, or the whole valve assy attached to rim?

The first original front dunlop tire lasted more than 50000 KM, just drove in Bangkok an average 30km per day.

That sounds like a lot. My experience with clicks is that tires last about 20k, give or take a bit. But those are local brands.

Are you sure you have tubeless? I didn't think that the Click was sold with them until the 150cc hit the market.

My 2017 click for sure is tubeless (know from puncture fix). I guess 125i clicks with Alu wheels are tubeless, laced with inner tube I assume

  5. I need to replace tires for my Click soon.

Was wondering whether there is much of a difference for ride quality and safety between the local tires (Deestone, Vee etc) vs premium brands like Michelin or Pirelli?

Looking in lazada prices of Michelins seem to be 2-3 times local brands price. Only have experience of the factory installed ones, thus asking comments from people with experience of branded tires in scooters. Just normal city/suburban use, rarely if ever over 70 km/h.

This is not a foreigner versus Thai issue

It merely applies to company owned properties

And even if you get the water company to put it in your name (which I doubt), you are still going to pay the commercial rate

Take the property out of the company name and then you will be able to put it into your name and pay the residential rate and not the commercial rate

... Well why I somehow have a feeling that this is one (small fortunately) of the many small taxes set for rich foreigners, this one by PWA... Residence is a residence, no matter how the ownership is set. Only foreigners have to own residences in a company...

    Anyway TIT.

If you are talking about the Pattaya Water office located in Naklua, no way to change from company name to private name, Thai or or foreigner makes no difference

My first experience with Thai obstinacy was when I went to change over from "construction" temporary water to permanent, with a meter (construction water is not metered) The lady not only would not put the water in a private name but also insisted that the company paperwork must be updated before the account would be opened and they would graciously charge me the commercial rate

Sorry,  but they feel that if you have a house in a company name then you are commercial and are going to pay the commercial rate, which of course is much higher.

Only way around it is to cut off the water, buy yourself a tank and then have water delivered for private use

Okay, kind of expected it is like that, with farang treatment...

  8. I have a house in company that I bought some time ago already. Water supply contract was in the company name when bought, the commercial contract about 350 baht /mo incl 15cbm of water.

I always thought it would not be possible not have the normal residential water supply contract if farang, and house in company name. However someone claimed yesterday it would be possible even if house in company name, to at least have water in thai name to such house.

Anybody have knowledge of how this is factually? Would there be a way to change the water to normal residential contract without the 350 baht fixed fee, either farang or thai? Water usage less than 10cbm/mo so would cut fee quite a bit if possible.

  9. There is a sheet metal shop doing all kind of sheet metal works incl gutters on Sukhumvit, driving south from Pattaya Tai right after Soi 81, you could go ask there.

Used them to make some sheet profiles to cover leaking roof joint, however installed myself so don't really know how good installation work they do and how much cost. But felt like reasonable fellows and the sheets I needed were not expensive, made for me on the spot.

However, 2 days ago our village posted signs that for the rest of the month (at least) there would be water cut-offs on odd numbered days. The signs say from 05-18:00 however it seems to be more of a 24 hour thing.

Yesterday no water in the morning and none in the late evening.
This morning, normal (low pressure) water in the morning. My tank (and garbage pail used for water) are full again so no worries for a few days or so all going well.

The official info from pwa seems just a lip service... Here in Pratamnak should have water every 2nd day however sometimes few days without and until today had for 2 or 3 days in a row... So as usual, they can not plan even for water allocation. Or at least not execute the plan.

  11. Couple of months ago I recall reading some local goverment people telling no need to worry about water supply as it would be delivered thru some pipelines from some other areas which presumably had water resources.

Anybody know about this? Was for real or just some political <deleted>?

If tourism would be normal, situation would probably be quite bad actually if no supply from outside as consumption would be quite some more.

If most of the tourists have gone home, who are all these people going to immigration every day. Surely it’s not like this normally so why is it so busy now?

I guess many people from all over the northern hemisphere added who come to spend winter here. Having the situation, maybe they thibonbetter of queue once a month than travel in full plane to a country where contagion situation might not be any better.

Does not make it any less disgraceful for Thai government though.

Do you meant he mains water supply? I guess Mabrachan Lake is empty, it was mud last time I was down that way.

Or do you meant the bottled water suppliers who deliver to condos? I expect they have been affected by the coronovirus, just buy water from 7-11 or those filter machines in the street.

Or do you mean the water bowsers? They're delivering to my condo since the public supply has been limited.

I meant mains. As bandersnatch posted it appears to be because of water supply situation now, first due to some pipe broken in top of pratamnak soi 6.

  14. Not long ago goverment was reassuring water supply not a problem assuming normal tourist numbers... Now I have no water for 4 days... Wonder how the situation would have been if all the tourists would have stayed as intended.

Also wonder what the outlook for coming days weeks and months for water?

  15. can also recommend PK air, been using them for years for all my aircon cleanings and installs

    cleaning 400 baht.

if need some more work is reasonably priced

  16. My brother most probably will get diagnosis of prostate cancer ( high PSA, lump in prostate based on manual examination), and for all practical purposes he will not end up being treated in his current country of residence, practical options being treated being our home country, or Thailand.

He has insurance that should cover the treatment in full.

For practicalities would be more convenient in Pattaya as could stay with me and I could provide the support during the treatment, and distance to hospital small,

Question is about capabilities in Pattaya hospitals in this area - anybody have experiences either own or of friends who would have had prostate cancer treatments in Pattaya (BPH as primary candidate I guess); are their capabilities OK, or better look for either Bangkok or home country, even if the 'home support' would be more challenging in those?

In general, what are the top hospitals in Thailand in this area, I would expect some in Bangkok?

  17. Try Pattaya2u in Tukcom, in computer floor. Had my mac touchpad replaced there ( i guess they got original parts from somewhere, not sure). Anyway good reliable place to at least go ask.

They also have  a shop in alley behind tukcom
