  1. Your permission to stay ends on 30th Sept.

You can get a 30 day extension from Thai Immigration for a fee of 1,900 Baht.

You will then have to exit and return before Oct. 30th to get another 60 days.

This can also be extended by 30 days at Immigration.

SO if I dont want to pay the 1900 baht for a month extension and If I leave to Cambodia and come back again on september 30th for re entry will they give me the extra 2 months for leaving and re entering the country without going to any consulate? Thanks again!

  2. i experienced sleep paralysis once in a motel and saw some stuff clinging down from the ceiling. there is some scientific explanation to it but its really really creepy. one of the few experiences that get my balls shrink to raisin size

I've seen lights turn off and on in different rooms and places I go to, while other power sources are still on so ITS NOT a power shortage. I have the volume on my tv go up and down automatically and NO I'm not sitting on the remote. I feel the presence of energy in certain places that send chills down my cerebrum but nothing silly like you see on Thai TV. Ghosts actually do exist as does atomic energy........

  3. You have to be stamped out of Thailand and enter another country which may require a visa for that country before returning to Thailand. It is the same for any visa that has more than one entry allowed or simply crossing the border and returning for a visa exempt entry.

The 90 day validity (not 3 months) is just the policy of all nearby Embassies and consulates. It appears to be done as a deterrent for people that stay long term in Thailand on tourist visas.

Getting a proper visa every six months is a lot better than making border runs every 2 weeks.

So I am confused, sorry but thanks for the help. I paid 2000 baht for a double re entry visa in Laos and they put 2 dates on my passport. On the actual thai tourist visa it says must enter thailand before october 30th but the other stamp says its good until september 30th this year? SO when do I actually need to get out????? thanks

  4. @omnilangar: "The problem is that THAI people are unaware of the power of UNIONS. It is a known fact in Thailand that activists taking on the power structure in Thailand are disappeared/killed. Just how long do you think union representatives would retain their "freedom of speech"

My friends have dissapeared for being animal rights activists. Heroes have short lives in Thailand.

Now to the point I made about people quitting on a regular basis, IT HAPPENS EVERYDAY and these are not the company reps standing around selling appliances in Lotus, these are the hard working clerks and shelf stockers who ARE employed by Lotus.......

Nobody here cares about workers rights? CEO's of 7-11 and Tesco make a 3 million baht per HOUR!

  5. So you were a guest in the US, (possibly became a citizen or was born as one by an immigrant, and that is a point in itself), took benefit from all the things you were entitled to; free schooling, govt. assistance, tax returns etc.

Now it seems you are using the best thing America taught you; that is is not only ok but right and just to express your opinion freely; you are using that right to advocate limiting the free speech of others because you don't like or agree with what they are saying.

When you grew up in the US, how many times did your family complain about things, or criticize a politician etc.?

You can't have it both ways; I think one of the things people complain about is the double standard attitude you get here, of which you seem to be promoting.

Don't forget the negative comments about asian mens ding dongs. I see rude racist comments on this forum and hear racist comments towards asians in every Western country I've been too......

  6. Pay workers more, then pay more for goods and services. Thai stores, especially the big ones tend to have lots and lots of workers, but I don't know if they actually work. Walk through Big C and dozens of "workers" in the appliance department. Maybe they are just on commission? And of course you know if a foreign restaurant owner how many Thais you are supposed to hire. No easy solutions

Most of your replies to my topic post are the gaseous crap that form ignorant assumptions. Mostly all of you see many people standing around in the appliance or beauty department at Tesco, Big C, etc, NOT working non stop BECAUSE they dont WORK for Tesco, they are hired from various namebrands of products and actually make about 30 percent more than the shelf stocker working from 5 am until 1 pm FOR TESCO. Getting paid OT for working over 40 hours a week is non existant. Having your shift change from 8 am-6 pm one day and the next from 4 am to 1 pm is more mandatory than a Telemarketers bowel movement at MCI.

My girlfriend told me everyday 2 new people are hired and only 1 of them has the stamina and energy to work this hard for such little cash. These wealthy western corporations HAVE the profit and money to give these people higher salaries unlinke their thai counterparts of competition. The problem is that THAI people are unaware of the power of UNIONS. Me working for 2 hundred baht an hour at a government school for a lousy 4 month contract is all the work I could find at this time. The germans, french and spanish natives had the 1 year contract at the 35k a month city government school. Don't pity me, pity those who work twice as hard for an entire day as I do in 1 hour. What even more pitiful are the wages of 7-11 and Tesco Sweatshop workers in nearby countries producing products so you can save a few baht while they monopolize the world paying these slaves less than 2 thousand baht a month.

  7. I don't understand why can't these workers unionize and go on strike demanding higher salaries. My girlfirend got a new job at Tesco outside of Sisaket and she is expected to work non stop lifting objects all day and organizing the store for only 30 baht per hour! I thought my income of 200 baht per hour teaching English was bad! I really feel pity for these hard working Thais who are paid next to nothing to work like machines at multibillionaire corporations! I suggest all of you to make a complaint the next time you visit a Tesco Lotus or 7-11 or please write a letter online to fight for change. These workers deserve much better treatment! Please help if you can!
