If you know what you're doing, and have the time and tools then a CB400 could be a good option if you want that style.
Most people have neither, so they are not a good option if you don't have the tools, time, and want of spending as much time working on it/waiting for parts as you do riding it. That is for the average one that someone who doesn't know anything about bikes would buy. Knowing what you should be getting will help you buy one in better condition.
The CBR250 sits lovely at 100kph 2 up. Just before the powerband and gently hums along.

One of the staff in Sumet made a CBR250 streetfighter using the side farings off the CRF250, and not sure about the forks. It's a bit rough round the edges with it's orange and unpainted gleam, but a good wash and paint job and I think it would look fantastic.
-
but if you don't like it then you probably won't have to wait long for Honda to come up with a 'lite' version.
Hopefully that will be true.
A street-fightered version of the CBR250R would be fantastic.

The thing I like about the REAL Helmets, besides the American DOT and European ECE Certification is that you can easily order new inner-lining for around 350b I think. I find that with open face helmets the lining and padding needs to be replaced at least once a year to keep a snug fit.
-
Very nice.
A decent streetfightered 250 for city use.
Wonder how much, 140k would be good.

Real Helmets:
The Full-Face 'Stealth' looks good. We both have the Ozzy open face for around the city and are very happy with them. For out of town though a full face is needed, especially on a 500.
The poster above 'Sumet Cycle' is the forum sponsor and I believe a Real Helmet dealer as well as having other brands.

Going in for the service tomorrow have around 200km to cover one way:) Made a whole list of things about 8 for them to take a look at and also going to do a Dyno test. Hope it wont rain as it was pissing down all day yesterday and half a day today. Anyone knows a good shop in Chiang Mai to pick up a helmet? Not too expensive please. Went to CR saddlebags they had a flip up LS2 FF370, but not the color or size i need for 3900.
Somebody mentioned a bar for bikers in Chiang mai before, where about is that place?
P.S I heard drivers in Chiang Rai are the worst in the country, experienced that myself, some twonk on pickup was on the phone tried to change the lane and pushed me all the way to the side of the road. I scrapped left bottom side of the bike on the sidewalk almost fell down, and that moron drove off onto the bridge as fast as he could.
Surprisingly I couldn't find a single scratch on a bike which is amazing as the sound was horrific.
Sumet do a large range of helmets (I believe), and would probably ship domestically.
We bought two REAL helmets (that's the name of the brand, the only Thai helmet manufacturer to be given DOT and ECE certification I believe), anyway, we're very happy with them.

One of the guys at BigWing told me that they where only waiting for the international QC, no problem with the Thai QC.
You don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Be careful with the older bikes sold here.
Many if not most are not as they should be.
Many have been played with by people who had no idea what they were doing, and had no idea about maintenance.
100k doesn't leave a lot of options.
If you could stretch it a bit more than a used Ninja 650 which you may find for around 160k if you're lucky would be your best bet.

They hadn't paid for the monthly Police license?
Might be double next month. Plus the renumeration for the officer's time of taking the tables away.

I have seen these deserted villages, comprising foreign houses. Example: Ban Chan 20km west of Yasothon. More than 40 villas purchased by foreigners for their Thai ladies. Falangs gone, Thai men sitting in front of these villas happily drinking beer all day.
Class!
For some reason watching silly Westerners be outsmarted by a couple of uneducated peasants with fresh dirt under their fingernails always makes me smile.
-
In the village I live in there are quite a few houses built from farang money, but not close to half, and I and a German man are the only ones that live here full time. There seems to be a huge building boom going on in my area, but vfor the life of me I don't know where the money is coming from.
Think of the letter 'P'.

“Age is not a factor here,” said Mr. Davis. “In America if I marry a girl who is 24 years younger than me, all you’re going to get is eyes and bad talk, bad gossip. Here it’s not an issue.”
Here it just happens behind you back, Mr. Davis.
Mr. Davis obviously doesn't speak Thai.

Hilarious!
Thanks.

a moment of desperation caused by hunger and bills passed due date you say cbrer?
Perhaps a gentle reminder to the policy maker that they may not have the complete power they think they have, so play fair with the majority's income activities?

Someone got a good deal.
The cheaper these get over the coming years the more Thais will be getting involved in the big bike market.
170k for a Kawa 650 with only 12k km on it is good news.

Actually it's amazing to go to Cambodia and realize the average waiter, waitress, street-kid has far better English skills than most Thai English majors in University. It's amazing how many people speak English when there is money to be madeThey also appear to be fully conscious, again, quite different from the average Thai with a menthol stick stuck up their hooter.

I have left twice my key with visible band to the scooter. Once about half an year ago in the night market. After an hour when I came back, it was still there.
Second time was last weekend at Phuket town when I went to take some photos. Same results.
As they can't be mentally aware of your bike as they are heading for it head-on going the wrong way down the road, expecting them to be mentally aware of it while it's completely stationary is expecting a bit much, really.

no mystical nonsense
So he wasn't 'assured by a certain Hindu God to go on teaching'?yes he wasHmmmm.
-
So to believe that 'He was assured by a certain Hindu God to go on teaching' doesn't require to believe that
a ) it's nonsense.
b ) there is a certain Hindu God that assured Buddha.
?

Thai Culture.

during is enlightenment under the Bodhi tree he was unsure about his ability to pass on his new found knowledge to his disciples.
He was assured by a certain Hindu God to go on teaching.
How humanity has the intelligence to understand subatomic science, to clone other beings, to walk on the moon and return to Earth, to magically and invisibly transmit 10Gb's of HD porn through the air and into my computer every night, but yet has such religious beliefs is really quite astounding, isn't it?
Not at all, its astounding that people judge something without full knowledge of the teachings.
Buddha does not tell us to follow his teachings blindly, he tells us to believe what we see, even scientist walk blindly sometimes.
to long to explain here but its not like that at all., there is no magic in Buddhism, no mystical nonsense, only people that are confused by the teaching due to poor research.
So he wasn't 'assured by a certain Hindu God to go on teaching'?

Haven't seen them again since the first day last week. Went up and down 30km of Viphawadee Rangsit on both Sat and Sunday and nothing.
Let's hope it was just a momentary rebellion and not a change in policy.
