Actually it's amazing to go to Cambodia and realize the average waiter, waitress, street-kid has far better English skills than most Thai English majors in University. It's amazing how many people speak English when there is money to be madeThey also appear to be fully conscious, again, quite different from the average Thai with a menthol stick stuck up their hooter.

I have left twice my key with visible band to the scooter. Once about half an year ago in the night market. After an hour when I came back, it was still there.
Second time was last weekend at Phuket town when I went to take some photos. Same results.
As they can't be mentally aware of your bike as they are heading for it head-on going the wrong way down the road, expecting them to be mentally aware of it while it's completely stationary is expecting a bit much, really.

no mystical nonsense
So he wasn't 'assured by a certain Hindu God to go on teaching'?yes he wasHmmmm.
-
So to believe that 'He was assured by a certain Hindu God to go on teaching' doesn't require to believe that
a ) it's nonsense.
b ) there is a certain Hindu God that assured Buddha.
?

Thai Culture.

during is enlightenment under the Bodhi tree he was unsure about his ability to pass on his new found knowledge to his disciples.
He was assured by a certain Hindu God to go on teaching.
How humanity has the intelligence to understand subatomic science, to clone other beings, to walk on the moon and return to Earth, to magically and invisibly transmit 10Gb's of HD porn through the air and into my computer every night, but yet has such religious beliefs is really quite astounding, isn't it?
Not at all, its astounding that people judge something without full knowledge of the teachings.
Buddha does not tell us to follow his teachings blindly, he tells us to believe what we see, even scientist walk blindly sometimes.
to long to explain here but its not like that at all., there is no magic in Buddhism, no mystical nonsense, only people that are confused by the teaching due to poor research.
So he wasn't 'assured by a certain Hindu God to go on teaching'?

Haven't seen them again since the first day last week. Went up and down 30km of Viphawadee Rangsit on both Sat and Sunday and nothing.
Let's hope it was just a momentary rebellion and not a change in policy.

IMO the current state of Phuket represents the future for the majority of locales in Thailand.
Certainly the locales where foreigners are present (with their money.)

Try not to take the loss of face like an Asian.... Good lad.
OK then, I'll try to get back to facts, rather than wild claims that the Thai baht is some kind of internationally accepted currency.

Auto updates and YES they will soon see it is an iffy copy,
Nonsense.
-
We pay them in chicken innards and bugs.
-
You should move to Thailand then. It's much cheaper here.
Are there other countries that accept Thai baht as currency?
Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
No they don't. You can't walk into a shop in any city in those 3 countries and spend Thai baht.
Pretty much can. In fact, in most shops in any city in these three neighbours it is preferred.
Try not to take the loss of face like an Asian.... Good lad.

Kurnell, those things you listed aren't really daily expenses are they? Unless you have a mountain of iPads at home and a shoe collection to shame Imelda Marcos.
Plus where would you buy an ipad for 2,000b??
averages...
One 14,000b toy a week = 2k a day average.
What I spend on Saturdays and Sundays are typically 5 times what I spend on a Monday and Tuesday.
At the end of the month I divide my monthly expenditure by 30 or 31 to get the daily average.

When I see reports of organized crime in Thailand and who is likely behind it, I draw on the CCTV video of my friend's condo's security guards taking his 100,000 motorbike down the road one night and lifting it into a pick-up after they disconnected the cameras in the condo.

^ You can put your socks back on now.
Well done.

As no one has recommended an actual make of computer, would I be right in assuming they are all similar?
Pretty much.
I would do what I did.
Get a PC built from the optional sets a well based local computer company such as JIB has.
They often have different packages on promotion. And build them there after you choose. Unless the kid is doing high-end design and visual work your budget is more than sufficient. Even too much. Under 15k for the lot.
A copy of Win 7 is identical in every single way to the original and updates as you please.

Don't buy a copy Window 7 or 8, when I ran a copy Win XP and started to update, microsoft quikly found out that I was running a copy and started to shut my PC desktop down.
Nonsense.

I got my Tower PC with free printer, LCD monitor (18.5 inch) etc from JIB Computer for 12,000 around a year ago. Copy of Win 7 for 300b.
4GB Ram.
500GB HDD
Inter G620 2.60ghz processor.
All good.
Just took about 30 mins to get all the sh!t loaded onto it with the Win 7 copy off.
Though he'll probably appreciate camfrog, Thai music hits etc etc.
