Each Immigration Office seems to have slightly different rules! At Jomptien if you have a Retirement Visa and a re-entry Visa and return to Thailand to live at the same house or condo you don't have to fill in a new TM30. When entering the country you are in effect reporting your address to Immigration and starting your 90 day TM7.

I've watched a divorce and it seems that both your and your wife's marriage certificates are required your passport, her ID and the housebook. I did not see any other documents. If you registered the marriage at the Embassy then you will need a certified translation of the Tambon divorce papers to unregister the marriage in due course in the UK.

Thai Police could help North Korea set up road traffic control systems for an undoubted increase in traffic should North and South Korea be reunited.

It varies from Amphur to Amphur (and probably by the size of the brown envelope but be wary of a change in local government officials). In Pong for more than 4 houses it is 8 metres and for less than 3 houses 6 metres. It's not clear what width is required for 4 houses! However the height of houses also comes into play. There is a formula that comes into play which requires houses of 4 or more stories to be on wider roads or to be set back from the road.

A 2 story house is about 25% more per square metre to build as foundations and pillars need to be much bigger and thicker respectively.
-
Price depends on how far apart the posts holding up the house are. If 4 metres apart the cost of building is much cheaper than if 5 metres apart. The roof forms a large part of the cost. If you use the longer asbestos type roofing it's far cheaper than small tiles. The weight of the roof is much less and the slope can be as little as 25%. A tiled roof needs a greater slope to prevent an ingress of water driven by winds. Thus the whole structure of the pillars needs to be larger and more expensive.

She can own it in her own right at 20 the age of majority in Thailand. I have had conflicting views if a UK born father can be the Trustee

A great example of a selfless guy doing good for his fellow citizens. A tremendous sacrifice of his health and wellbeing to help others. Congratulations Khun Toon!

Yet more pocket money for the New Year. I wonder who will actually get the pocket money. Another useless regulation like the crash helmet's one. Never mind the Police may get richer!
-
How surprising! When I go to Jomtien beach the illegal vendors prowl the beach and disappear like rabbits when they spot the police. Foreign tourists get sunburnt so why on earth not remove all the umbrellas. I agree with the no cigarettes idea just like the no helmet law. Why 100k for cigarettes and 400 baht for crash helmets?

If you meet the financial requirements for a Settlement visa, why is it virtually impossible to get one? What rights do "illegal immigrants" have?
Sent from my SM-G930F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
I meet the financial requirements have you seen the non refundable cost of even applying!

Obviously a large brown envelope helped!

Wasnt Al Capone jailed by the authorities for corruption offences ?
Maybe brown envelopes didn't work there!

In 14 years England has changed for the worst. Now it's so Politically Correct that I would get arrested for harmless banter. It's too cold and expensive to live in and virtually impossible to get a Visa for my wife of 13 years to even visit yet alone settle in. Best to be an illegal immigrant they get much more rights than me. I even would have to be in England for 6 months before I could get NHI treatment Even though I pay more than £2,000 a year in tax.

I'm sure it would make great TV news to see people peeing in bottles! The real story is that the bar was open without a licence. Was it closed down? For 30,60,90 days or permanently? I don't see that in the article.

Will be interesting to watch Trump's response almost certainly a special counsel appointment to investigate the Clintons.

It's never a good idea to go on a Friday or a Monday because Immigration has about 30% more people to process on those days. As Immigration will close for the King's funeral even though it will be open on the 27the I imagine the queues will be horrendous.

My local restaurant in Naklua has had official notice from the Banglamung Police not to serve alcohol from 25-27. On 13 they even went into restaurants smelling "coffee" to see if it contained alcohol. One resturant was closed for 30 days for doing so!

I dunno about being treated more fairly, but I noticed Thai drivers slow down more when I cross the street. Maybe because I'm a tall guy although my ex told me it's probably more headache for them if they hit a foreigner.
I doubt that I just put my wife on the phone and she scares the shit out of them!

Not always. I got sideswiped by a drunken Thai girl on a m/c whilst driving mine. Some Thais happened to see it. They came to look after me and not her she said she was drunk. A policeman came took one look at my m/c and said not you. She had fled the scene. I went to the local hospital. I was taken care of by some paramedics by the roadside taken by ambulance to the public hospital Xrayed, saw a doctor and got my out patient medicine. Total time at hospital 45 minutes. A week later went to Poli e Station and Police asked the girl what you pay to farang! She only earned 9,000 a month so I asked for 5,000 and my bike repaired. Little did I know I would be in bed for 5 weeks. I got a serious groin injury. But you can't get blood out of a stone.

About time to. Nearly every day I see new cables being installed on overloaded poles but have never seen cables removed. It seems only thieves successfully do that!

Glad he is being charged with attempted murderer. The cam evidence is plain to see. The Thai has apologized for being stupid but understandably angry. In this case my sympathies lie with the Thai man. The Brit deserves all that is thrown at him.

Both should be arrested. The Australian for using his car to deliberately run over the Thai and the Thai for assault. No wonder the Policeman didn't immediately arrest the Thai. He needed backup to arrest both of them.

Sad that monks taking an oath of poverty taking alms from the poor have become so materialistic. They are supposed to leave worldly goods behind them when they join the monestry and not become filthyly rich!

WOW in the UK any killing of a policeman goes to the top of the list of priorities in chasing down the killer. In virtually every country of the world including England his offence is Extraditable. Maybe brown wallets are involved.
