Even before covid19 Pattaya was dying. I doubt if even 50% of the bars will be able to reopen.

Certainly absolutely no booze available in Pattaya city not even in Mom and Pop stores . A couple of bars selling drinks under cover in my condo block have been fined 100,000 baht. The only easing I have seen is that BigC has now opened up it's kitchenware and mobile phone areas. Clothing and bedding are roped off.

The nearer it is to 10pm provided you are travelling home the nearer the fine is to 20,000 baht. I have heard of a number of people being fined 40,000 in court.

Send the temperature testers to a non active post for failure to find anyone with a high temperature!

They, the BIB, could have issued a warning, taking the poor old lady to court for being a good Samaritan is out of order.

If there is a lockdown why are there any road deaths?

Stupid just like the ban on sales between 2pm and 5pm. I was in a restaurant just before lockdown they told me i had to stop drinking at 2pm halfway through eating my lunch!

Big joke tourists coming back to Pattaya? I doubt whether the Chinese will be coming back quickly and they don't help the local community anyway. I expect about 60% of the bars, which were struggling to start with, won't reopen.

I first booked a flight from Utapao to Saigon with Vietjet they stopped flying that route and I had to wait 6 weeks for a refund. Then, again to avoid songkran, I booked a flight to Manilla on 15th April for 10 days back in February. That flight also got cancelled as Thailand began to stop all incoming flights. PAL airlines will take 3 months to refund me. But at least I will get a refund on a non refundable ticket and have avoided the worst excesses of Songkran.

A local Italian restaurant put all its tables lengthwise and only 2 chairs per table. All tables were separated by 1.5 metres so social distancing was ok. Then some stupid officials stopped wine drinking etc at 2pm. Who eats Italian food without drinking wine!

In the picture it seems non of the people are wearing masks and certainly no social distancing going on. Plenty of fines to share around for the finest!

Does that suggest that Pattaya has a huge covid19 problem?

I was living in a 3 bed house with a pool and garden in 2/3rds rai. However it came with a wife eternally wanting money and her father living in the house in later years. The stress of living in the house was great and so was the cost of looking after the pool, electricity et al.
We are now happily divorced and she takes care of herself and our daughter. I live in a 25sq.mtr. condo with a balcony for 6,500 a month including electric and water. I miss the garden but even under the lockdowns prefer my condo.

Obviously naked as they have watched to many Benny Hill shows. I don't think that they were going to disobey social distancing rules by actually having Ugandan Relationships!

Wonderful on the day before the suspension of the need to report every 90 days and the automatic renewal of Visas for people whose Visas have run out because they can't leave the country, yet alone Pattaya!

I haven't seen any masks for sale in Pattaya for the last 6 weeks so how can i buy one!

There are no masks available in Pattaya for Thais or farangs. The Thais wearing masks are using old masks. I have asked some Thais in Pattaya and they are having to pay 50 baht a mask if they find a vendor.

My concern is “are masks available to the public”? How do you expect people to wear them if they can’t find them in their local convenience stores?

I have no idea why the poster who you asked for help is being so churlish and unhelpful- a decidedly unchristian attitude, however I don't think he is even correct. This is from CAAT's website today (note the date):
In effect nobody can come to Thailand as a tourist at the moment so the covid19 insurance is a non starter.

Pointless discussion in Pattaya as no masks available anywhere!

Amazing Thailand only counts people who have been tested and there are not enough kits to test enough people. The real number of infected people is actually unknown. The lock downs were delayed so tourism was not effected. The ridiculous rules of self quarantine for 14 days for tourist arrivals and the $100,000 insurance will definitely kill off European arrivals as well as the Chinese.

This new regulation will ensure that arrivals will be less than 10,000,000 a year. $100,000 insurance is a ridiculous sum. As I am above 70 I can only get a maximum of $50,000 cover. Some of the other requirements can't be fulfilled as most countries health systems are overloaded looking after real problems.

Curfew breakers: 16,000 stopped since restrictions began

And if 16,000 were caught how many brown envelopes were handed over so that the shortfall of brown envelopes from the bar owners could be restored?
