It's no longer just only King Power it's now "Booze Company Power" but they put a fortune of their own money into helping out the Government with the covid19 pandemic.

According to the Bangkok Post it's to prevent social gatherings. There have been many reports of people, mainly Thai having noisy drinks parties and neighbours reporting the parties. The police not only found no social distancing at these parties but drugs too. TIT.

Of course they will come flooding back because most have had no jobs for months. One boat accident in Phuket and the Chinese tourists dropped dramatically. What will happen after a pandemic?

1 and a third bottles of Sangsom. I was lucky and bought 2 bottles he day before the ban. I like the Sangsom with my coffee.

When my eldest daughter was 6 she loved all the flashy lights in walking street but was surprised that so many girls wore bathing costumes when they didn't seem to be swimming! Walking Street attracts people even if they don't want to enter the agogos.

Obviously the Official Office of Drink Haters has control over the Government. Expensive Restaurants don't really make much money on food and if they can't sell wine and pre dinner and post dinner drinks they can't afford to open particularly if they have to reduce the number of customers. A few stupid people having drink parties and not social distancing have contributed to this ban.

Will the 2 till 5 pm ban apply on those 2 days? The shops will be crowded and probably run out of booze on the first day anyway.

My daughter who lives in London normally comes to Thailand every year but is having a terrible year in the UK this year. She will skip her trip this year. She doesn't trust that Thailand will be ready to accept guests by Christmas apart from having to regain lost business.

The infection rate of 9 people a day is hardly a pandemic. There is no reason to have this state of emergency apart from people who come into Thailand
Social distancing seems enough to keep covid19 at bay. The Government is simply scared to make the decision to lift the lockdown.

If Thailand stops Songkran every year more deaths will be prevented than from the overreach of the lockdown.

I thought that the Government had placed a controlled price of 5 baht a mask!

Let the poor people starve as they stay out of work and the politicians are frightened to make decisions. The tourism industry especially in places like Pattaya are doomed. The poor workers in the bars can't even go home. I doubt if even 50% of those bars will ever reopen.

There is far less traffic on the road to overtake dangerously that probably is a huge factor in the decline in deaths on the road!

Welcome back Boris hopefully the pound will have a small bounce upwards too.

Why go to a decent restaurant and not be able to order wine? A UK passport is the property of the UK Government so whilst immigration officers can put stickers in them I don't think State Governors can.

Certainly no illegal sports such as bridge because that would be impossible to play with the required social distancing. Please allow alcohol sales again.

And if 16,000 were caught how many brown envelopes were handed over so that the shortfall of brown envelopes from the bar owners could be restored?

Even before covid19 Pattaya was dying. I doubt if even 50% of the bars will be able to reopen.

Certainly absolutely no booze available in Pattaya city not even in Mom and Pop stores . A couple of bars selling drinks under cover in my condo block have been fined 100,000 baht. The only easing I have seen is that BigC has now opened up it's kitchenware and mobile phone areas. Clothing and bedding are roped off.

The nearer it is to 10pm provided you are travelling home the nearer the fine is to 20,000 baht. I have heard of a number of people being fined 40,000 in court.

Send the temperature testers to a non active post for failure to find anyone with a high temperature!

in COVID-19 Coronavirus

The police are stopping cars in Banglamung to check if everyone in the car is wearing a mask if not they are handling out tickets. Also you cannot enter any Mall without wearing a mask in Pattaya. That is a requirement under the new regulations issued from 1st May for visits to any shop, barber or mall etc.
