  1. Yes, I confirmed this with a native speaker. This is the right spelling for 'slash'

    ทับ - thap

The 'thap' romanization is a little odd as that is how my first spelling would be pronounced whereas the sound is actually 'top' (high). But then, different systems use different romanizations.

Oh yes this is quite difficult of course.. But as you write 'top' i assume you use an 'o' sound wich I think should be an 'a' sound. But yes, one should use the thai spelling to be sure about how to correctly pronounce.

  2. IDC is not hell. That's the point.

It's also not considered as a relaxing experience is it?
    Did I say it was?

Did I say that you said it was? No? Did I say that some people might try and think a little longer then before they come out and act like big guys.. Yes, I did. First of all maybe your perception of hell isn't the same as mine, but I wouldn't want to be in IDC nor some Thai jail. But since it's a cup of tea for some people in this thread maybe they could cope easily wich such an situation.

  3. I guess you are looking for this word?: ทับ (TAP)

Don't think that is it. Found another word though after looking at yours - ตับ dtàp which means row or line.

I think that ตับ is most commonly used as the 'liver'

When I speak about an adress wich has a slash in it, I also always use 'thap' ทับ as so do many Thais.

  4. Hi all,

Just wondering if there are any gamehalls around town where they have XBOX or PS3 hooked up to the internet to play some live games with people from all around the world? Or maybe gamehalls with PC's that run some latests games like Fifa and such.

Just wondering.. And also: Does anybody of you own a console at home? And is connected to eather PSN or Xbox Live? I feel it's quite hard to find an un-modded console since they all like to run the copied games. Wich of course is nice but results in a ban on both networks.

    Thanks!

  5. Don't monks get free transportation in Thailand? Not airplanes but I think everything else like busses and Songthaw's right?

It seems there is a real range of monks. Very smiley ones with great energy to really colossal douche bags.

I guess its good to make the effort at least to refine oneself. Just think if they didn't study?

Not always the case, some Monks do have to pay.

  6. Hi all,

Not sure is this is the proper board. Please move if not.

I have two one-way plane tickets from Udon Thani to Chiang Mai on Tuesday 19 march. 13:00 departure / 14:20 arrival (with Nok Air)

Since my plans have changed (Actually the wife changed the plans lol) These seats are free.
Maybe some of you find it interesting to have these tickets? NOK has an option to change the names of the passengers.

I'm thinking of 900 baht per ticket.

Please drop me a line if you are interested!

  7. It looks like it will open quite soon. After i shot this video they started to work on all the individual shops wich takes a good month to finish.. Plans are to open the venue even if not all shops are occupied.. But as there is no real pressure since big parties like Rimping, H&M and Chichang already signed the deal they know things will be oke anyway.

  8. Hi all,

It's been a while but here is an video update about the status of Promenada at 14th of January 2013. This was just before they started to work on the interiour. End of Q1 is coming up now.. You think they will make it?

  9. I know someone who's selling these machines next to all his scooters etc.. It's in Chiang Mai and really just like the average motorbike shop.. Guess he's not selling the Segway's because they did not move an inch since i first saw them there.. Can't remember the price, but maybe it's worth visiting the shop.. Being a local dealer it aint so dodgy..
