  1. Hi all..

I came over to Thailand because I love this place. I did some work for TV (ThaiPBS) and shot some corperate work in Bangkok.

My passion is filmmaking. I did that quite a lot when I was back in The Netherlands. My friends from school all loved film aswell (I studied film)

so we always found ways to gather people for a shortfilm.

Now living in Thailand I miss making films.. Do you guys have any idea if there are any kind of acting schools? Or places where actors gather around? They don't have to be actors really, just willing to play in a film. My idea is to get on going with shooting short films about typical Thai topics, struggles in life, interesting cultural aspects etc. I think Thailand has a very wonderfull film industry...

Don't get me wrong, I am not talking about the 18+ kind of things...

Not sure if I am able to find it here, but at least I can try :-)

  2. Hi all, I went to the construction site to check the current status and talked to some workers there.

I made a video about it for a Dutch website but added subtitles in it.

Wondering what you all think.. Will they make it looking at the current status? The lady called me today stating that it will be ready by the end of March.

(If the subtitles are not working, click the annotation button)

    Friso.

  3. OT: side note

Did anyone else happen to see the lines there yesterday?

    12/12/12

Seemed like mostly kids but it went all the way back past the karaoke place.

I asked a girl what the fuss was about thinking a new movie came.

But she said the theater was selling tickets yesterday for 12 baht smile.png

    12/12/12

They sold them at 12/12/12 at 12:12 PM for what I can remember.

  4. It's kind of seeing a Blu-Ray movie for the first time.. It's odd. Normally due to 24frps you get that feeling of 'film' wich is gone with 48. But the sense of realism and the actual possibilty to really see everything in clear and smooth motion is something you hate or love. We are not used to it...

  5. That's how I feel Friso, that's why I'd like to see it at the new 48fps.

I also don't like 3D much at all but as it has been shot with a 3D camera, it should be good. But those glasses are too small! The glasses frames fill the peripheral vision. They need to be the big oversized ones like the imax glasses.

True that. Glasses are still somewhat pain in the ass, but this movie is going to let you forget you even wearing those glasses. Can't wait to see it.

  6. Not sure if they support... Playing 3D and the 48 frps is a different thing... Being able to show 3D films is not yet being able to show the new framerate.

Be sure this movie is going to be unbelievable in the new format. 3D sucks when it's added digitally to up in the box-office. Peter Jackson shot this entire film with a 3D camerarig who is specially build for this and the other Hobbit films. Cinema history is written.

  7. Well it's not pushing my luck in anyway. I will be going to the King's birthday celebrations (in BKK) where people are urged (still this day) to wear yellow. Of course I don't want to stand out wearing any other colour. But will be wearing my pink shirt at first ;-)

  8. The bright yellow ones aren't that popular anymore in the North for obvious reasons, but you can readily find pink and white ones with the royal logo on them. A place where I have seen them are the Royal Project stores.

I understand. Thanks anyway! Maybe just find one in BKK on wednesday.

  9. Anybody has some locations of stores who sell the Thai King yellow shirts and polo's?

    Or markets perhaps.

I left mine back home but would like to have one. Not sure where to start looking.

  10. The office has beautifull purple fences. Can't miss that. On the other side of the road is the airport runway so just look if you see any planes skimming your head your there. Super easy to find. Enter the pink building, go to the left, up the stairs and talk to the nice lady there. Should be there before 8 AM to participate in that days course. Means: training and test.

  11. Proost!

Well yes I agree with above. Don't be foolish to send passports, cash and other documents around. Last time I applied for my Non-img B I didn't have time to pick it up myself. I decided to let them send it to me wich proved to be mayor pain in the ass. You don't know where your passport is, they also don't know. Just let them call you, take the car or do it by train. Grab a couple of friends and have a fun day in Amsterdam (that's what I did last time)

Good times getting a visa :-)

  12. Yeah. Make sure you go to Amsterdam since they say the regulations are a bit easier there.

I applied in Amsterdam for both Tourist and Buisiness and never had any problems. If they don't pick up the

phone just keep holding the line, it's actually really ringing in the consulate wich is making the people there crazy after a period of time.

They tend to not pick up if you call them and hang up after thinking nobody will answer.

A year ago i got the double-entry tourist visa. Can't remember if they offered a triple as well.

  13. Hi all!

Somebody in the Chiang Mai area that has good skills in InDesign and is willing to give a brief introduction course of this software?

Of course I can offer a financial compensation for this.

    Thanks in advance.
