  1. Think that's a no go... Maybe the best thing to do is just to take the test as many times in one language as possible. Just keep on telling them you don't understand. The variation of questions is not too much so I guess that after 4 tests, there is no way you can fail again since you can see what you did wrong on the other 4, and even better: what you needed to answer to get it right. After doing a couple of tests you will know pretty much all the right answers because they simply gave them to you.

Think that will work, but correct me if i am wrong.

  2. Hi all,

Having my HTC Desire for more then 2 years now, it's slowly giving up on me. Reboots all the time, battery life is about half a day (yeah)

the list goes on and on... Not bad for an HTC to run 2 years tough.

I found some interesting information about the I-mobile serie. The Q1 etc. These phones look really interesting to me.

Cheap prices, brand names that I'm not familliar with are always giving me some nerves. It's cheap, but for what I read it is supossed to be really good. Is that really true?

Could IQ owners give me some first hand user-info?

For example: Is the Q1 in same range as an Samsung Galaxy S2? What about the screen? Is the phone fast? Is it reliable? Good service? etc.

Excited to hear all your stories. I'm really considering buying one of these.

Also, the Q1 has the TV reciever in it. I'm keen to know if it's possible to use it abroad... Any idea? (Europe)

    Thanks.

  3. You are welcome and have a nice New Year as well.

Where Thais go is on the same side of the road as the Immigration Office but a little before and with a convenient large parking area off the main road. There are signs, in Thai at least.

Thanks! Think we will find it :-)

  4. For my understanding.. Is it possible to hop over the border to get a new stamp on this Sunday (30)? Or are they closed at that moment? Thanks for your info, but it's not clear to me what's happening there. Also, is it easy for a Thai citizen to hop over and get back? Or does he/she needs any kind of papers other than passport/ID card?

    Thanks!

As I stated above the border will be open much later than usual on the 30th (until midnight) 31st (until 2am). Thais need to visit the Amphoe (not located at the border but back in town), with their ID card, and obtain a pass for 30 baht I believe, which allows them to cross over for the day.

Thanks a lot! Means no problems to get it.. Will try to locate the Amphoe office back in town. If can't find it we will just skip walking around the market. Thanks again and have a nice new year.

  6. Hi all..

I came over to Thailand because I love this place. I did some work for TV (ThaiPBS) and shot some corperate work in Bangkok.

My passion is filmmaking. I did that quite a lot when I was back in The Netherlands. My friends from school all loved film aswell (I studied film)

so we always found ways to gather people for a shortfilm.

Now living in Thailand I miss making films.. Do you guys have any idea if there are any kind of acting schools? Or places where actors gather around? They don't have to be actors really, just willing to play in a film. My idea is to get on going with shooting short films about typical Thai topics, struggles in life, interesting cultural aspects etc. I think Thailand has a very wonderfull film industry...

Don't get me wrong, I am not talking about the 18+ kind of things...

Not sure if I am able to find it here, but at least I can try :-)

  7. Hi all, I went to the construction site to check the current status and talked to some workers there.

I made a video about it for a Dutch website but added subtitles in it.

Wondering what you all think.. Will they make it looking at the current status? The lady called me today stating that it will be ready by the end of March.

(If the subtitles are not working, click the annotation button)

    Friso.

  8. OT: side note

Did anyone else happen to see the lines there yesterday?

    12/12/12

Seemed like mostly kids but it went all the way back past the karaoke place.

I asked a girl what the fuss was about thinking a new movie came.

But she said the theater was selling tickets yesterday for 12 baht smile.png

    12/12/12

They sold them at 12/12/12 at 12:12 PM for what I can remember.

  9. It's kind of seeing a Blu-Ray movie for the first time.. It's odd. Normally due to 24frps you get that feeling of 'film' wich is gone with 48. But the sense of realism and the actual possibilty to really see everything in clear and smooth motion is something you hate or love. We are not used to it...

  10. That's how I feel Friso, that's why I'd like to see it at the new 48fps.

I also don't like 3D much at all but as it has been shot with a 3D camera, it should be good. But those glasses are too small! The glasses frames fill the peripheral vision. They need to be the big oversized ones like the imax glasses.

True that. Glasses are still somewhat pain in the ass, but this movie is going to let you forget you even wearing those glasses. Can't wait to see it.

  11. Not sure if they support... Playing 3D and the 48 frps is a different thing... Being able to show 3D films is not yet being able to show the new framerate.

Be sure this movie is going to be unbelievable in the new format. 3D sucks when it's added digitally to up in the box-office. Peter Jackson shot this entire film with a 3D camerarig who is specially build for this and the other Hobbit films. Cinema history is written.

  12. Well it's not pushing my luck in anyway. I will be going to the King's birthday celebrations (in BKK) where people are urged (still this day) to wear yellow. Of course I don't want to stand out wearing any other colour. But will be wearing my pink shirt at first ;-)

  13. The bright yellow ones aren't that popular anymore in the North for obvious reasons, but you can readily find pink and white ones with the royal logo on them. A place where I have seen them are the Royal Project stores.

I understand. Thanks anyway! Maybe just find one in BKK on wednesday.

  14. Anybody has some locations of stores who sell the Thai King yellow shirts and polo's?

    Or markets perhaps.

I left mine back home but would like to have one. Not sure where to start looking.
