I read yesterday that Thaksin had been granted Montenegrin Citizenship, if this is true, surely he can never even dream about being PM again......... he's now a Farang and I am pretty sure the constitution wouldn't allow that.

the end of the rainbow...............

Now you know the rules, they have had me at least 5 times and I am sure they will have me again.

The red shirts are in a bind. Without violence they will be ignored.
With violence they will be as discredited as they were as a result of the last Songkran events.
Eventually the bluster will run out.
Next step? Try to negotiate a 'victory' to justify a retreat.
I would agree, the government can wait then out - and where will that leave the reds.
Or they, meaning the paid lackies of Thaksin, can instigate real trouble leading to the bloodshed of innocent people conned into coming to Bangkok in the name of democracy when in actual fact they have been manipulated all for the benefit of one person - namely a convicted criminal named Thaksin and his paid hencemen.
Why is taksin being treated so differntly from every other thai polition, he is no more corrupt than the rest, his party didnt do any more vote buying than the oposition partys or any previous governments, the whole thing the thai people are worried about is that taksin and his supporters are not being dealt with the same as the yellow shirts , after all who was democratically elected in the first place, why weren't their leaders held and prosecuted when they closed the airport, the main concern is that government be fair and open across the board, not one set of rules for one side and another set for the other as seems to be applying at present.
By the way most thai's both red and yellow shirts think the present leader Abisit is okay the problem is that he wasn;t democratically elected.
I agree and I disagree........corruption is rife in Thailand but Mr Thaksin took it to a level that was unacceptable even for the corrupt elite of Bangkok...

The Government should declare that he is a Terrorist and demand that the UAE immediately arrest him and deport him back to Thailand.

Pattaya Police clear Pattaya Beach of Prostitutes
PATTAYA: -- Following orders from the new Pattaya Police Chief, Police Colonel Nantawoot, a team of Pattaya Police Officers assisted by civil volunteers, known in Thai as “O-Po-Po-Lor”, conducted a late night operation on Wednesday to clear Pattaya
Beach of Prostitutes and others suspected of loitering with intent to engage in anti-social or criminal activity.
A total of 60 people were rounded-up, including 20 transsexuals and 40 women.
All were charged with offenses relating to loitering with intent and prostitution and paid a small fine before being released back onto the Beach where they presumably continued with whatever they were doing prior to their arrest.
WOW !
Very brave reporting from Howard !

No one is supposed to drive in the right hand lane, it is for overtaking only.
Its my most regular fine !

JMO
The company he worked for is / was heavily involved in lots of major construction projects in Dubai and has probably suffered hugely as part of the crash, my gut feeling is that they have found out someone has beeen filtering money out of the company for years but he'll be a well connected local and this guy is an ideal scapegoat to hang the blame on.
-
Having seen the way way that Emirati's and their absolute travesty of a justice system works, I am willing to believe that this guy is totally innocent.
How could a Personnel Manager divert money from peoples salaries. 150 million is a huge scary figure to convince the Thai authorities that he is a major criminal, and I'll bet that the Company in question never turned over anything like that kind of money.
I sincerely hope that they allow an appeal against the extradition and carefully review the facts of this case before they side with a bunch of habitual liars and arse coverers.

Cherry Juice works wonders as does Cat's Whisker Tea.

Everybody in Thailand has "contacts".

Like every one of these huge TV discussions, i love the fact that most of the posters have less than ten posts to their names.........
I don't think half of you have a clue about anything.
Sadly it's why I don't visit so much nowadays.

Maybe the ones with the bigger panel on the top? Sorry no idea
The next house in my Village bought 3 small one a few months back, fine they came on as soon as it got dark and then got weaker and by 9pm had gone out.. So no good at all, as they leave for work in BKK @ 4:50 am and return home between 9 - 9:30 pm..... last weekend they had an electrician come and install electric one on a timer.
That was my experience also, maybe 2 hours of pretty dim (and pretty worthless) light.

Another Strange Death in Thailand.

And regardless of what the rules say they would still demand "Tea Money" before they released it to you.
What Did Thaksin Do For Thailand?

I think the best thing he did was become a Montenigran Citizen.
If he's not Thai, he can't be PM.
