I have often wondered about the caffiene levels in the coke here... i was drinking a lot of jack and coke when i got here and could not sleep... now i drink breezers and i sleep fine (i also am garanteed not to get flat ^**#ing coke)

Also i have wondered about the caffeine levels in Ovaltine and Green Tea... anyone know if these two have caffiene?

I'd be careful with the figures quoted for the Green Tea as I believe this only refers to "home brewed" from a tea bag. Not the pre mixed stuff in the bottles and can's. My wife informs me that a few months ago the Thai language press had a big splurge about the hugely excessive amounts of Caffeine in these products and that they were trying to get some brands taken off the shelves.

By getting rid of do you mean "chase away" or "exterminate".

I have found Boric Acid Powder as an effective killer, whereas Garlic certainly keeps them away from areas.

Lets not get too excited about this. The maximum mortgage is 70% and the minimum amount they will lend is $100,000. And the maximum period is only 10 years.

So unless you are looking at property over 6 million Baht it is of no use to you.

TERMS FOR FINANCING OF RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY IN THAILAND

Purpose

To finance the purchase of freehold condominium property in Thailand.

Loan Quantum- Up to 70% of the purchase price

Maximum loan amount - S$1,000,000 or equivalent amount

Minimum loan amount - S$100,000 or equivalent amount

Note : Drawdown quantum shall be the lowest of

a) amount as per approved limit

b. Up to 70% of purchase price of property, when converted at our exchange rate prevailing upon drawdown

c) 90 % of the appraised value upon completion by our appointed valuer

Security : Legal mortgage of property to be financed

Loan Tenure : Max 10 years

I am out of country at the moment so cannot give you the details but we have a Thai/English, English/Thai dictionary in Thailand which is about 7" high and 2 1/2" thick with a Purple cover. I got it from my old secretary as it had been recommended to her by her university lecturer as the best. I have seen it in many bookshops in Pattaya so it is probably available in all the large cities.

If it's in Pattaya there are quite a few as well. And there used to be the pub darts league. I know that the Smugglers Rest on Naklua Road was one of the teams but cannot remember the rest of them.

Clear out the lager louts, clean up the streets, re-liberalise the licensing laws and hours of operation, improve the infrastructure, get rid of the peadophiles, allow go-go's / clubs to operate within a common decency standard (no live f#cking, razor blades, etc.), get rid of corruption in the police force (haha), put the skytrain all the way to Walking Street Pattaya (you'll thank me DaveT), get rid of the beggers and hawkers selling cr@p, protect foreigners rights in local or legal disputes, allow foreign ownership of property, license ALL providers to the tourist industry operating in Thailand, clamp down on the crazy and sometimes non-existant driving standards, arrest the criminals / Drug sellers, reduce the Chinese package tours and most importantly only ever serve me a beer that is Ice Cold...no excuses ! !
