  1. so I live out in the sticks.

Can I buy one of these

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UNLOCKED-Mobile-Broadband-USB-Modem-Huawei-E173-Dongle-/320681279040?pt=UK_Computing_Networking_SM&hash=item4aaa17fe40

And in addition one of these

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Antenna-3G-Broadband-Huawei-O2-USB-Modems-CRC9-/150586101424?pt=UK_Computing_LaptopAccess_RL&hash=item230fa18eb0

And then buy a CAT sim card, and Hey Presto ?

I should point out that my friend recently brought his laptop to our house and connected via a cat dongle.

  2. I have a small dilema,

My passport is about full, I have used my tourist visa, and currently have entry until 31/05/2011.

I fly back to the UK on this date for two weeks so no problems there.

I was thinking that if I apply to hong kong for a new british passport now, my current entry stamp would be in my old passport.

Would this cause a problem at swampy upon exit from Thailand ?

  3. At the moment there is a bad case of Newcastle disease, which is causing a lot of problems in our area in Phetchabun,

Fortunately for us it hasn't affected us yet, hopefully we will be ok as the chickens are due to be processed in a weeks time.

A few farms near us are losing thousands of chickens a day due to this disease.

  4. Hi Morpheus,

Just interested in your above post,

I thought that a German national could not hold dual nationality?

    Back to the OP,

I had to sign a form at the ministry of foreign affairs here in Thailand last week in order for my British/Thai son to aquire his Thai passport.

Perhaps the Thai Embassy in London could post you the forms to sign ?

  5. In the past I have used salt to move them on.

The termites do not like salty soil.

As already said they used to live under the concrete base of our house in some parts, after applying salt to the area and then watering so that the salt dissolves and finds its way into the termites nest, they move on.

  6. Ok The rules relating to a UK passport photograph are very rigid,

Has anyone successfully used a program to make their own photo, and if so was it accepted by the passport agency?

I have seen epassport.com, but the sizes aren't quite right, any ideas ?

Or alternatively is there a photo shop near the British embassy as I need to apply for a passport for my one year old son.

    Thanks

  7. You are aware of one year extension of stay options (which require 400k in bank or 40k income

    Aware of that thanks,

But I do not have the 400k in Thailand, and The 40k income we make that here from the farm, although it's in my wifes name and so is the income.

Take full marriage paperwork (certificate/wife ID card/home register copy) in case they do not want to issue a tourist visa. There should not be any problem getting a single entry non immigrant O visa.

Do I need to show income for this type of visa ?

    Thanks

  8. So I have been in Thailand almost 20 months, I came on a NON 0 used it to the capacity, and got a 2 month extensnsion that runs out in early Feb 2011.

Prior to this I have had 3 non,0 visa's, from Hull.

I have 4 pages left in my Passport, and plenty of visa full page stickers for Laos.

Married and have a child here.

We will be going back to England, during English summertime later this year to apply for another non 0

In the meantime I want to apply for a double entry tourist visa in Vientianne, looking at a few latest threads here, it seems that they might not issue me with a visa because I have been here too long ?

Also as a very important side note, Is there any secure car parking, or recommended car parking Thai side?, I don't want my truck stolen .

    Thanks

  9. I remember reading on here about the corruption needing to stop, loads of posters wanting to do something, well some of us need to cut the talking and start fighting back and stopping these thieves.

I don't see the corruption that the OP complains about?

    I do see

    Speeding and a 400bt fine

Pay it and move on YOU are the one thats in the wrong ..

  11. Came back yesterday and got the extension,

Copies of passport, photo page, non o visa, last entry stamp, and the arrival card.

Also produced khor rhor 2 and 3, Thai birth certificate of my son, My tabien Bahn , wifes Tabien Bahn, wifes Id card.

Really straightforward, was in an out within the Hour.

I paid the officer 1900 baht by way of two 1000 baht notes, got a receipt, but no change was forthcoming, so I left it at that.
