I don't think it really matters that the hospital name is not in English because down at the bottom under remarks it says the QR code verifies the vaccination through the MOPH, and that's far more "official" than having the name of the hospital appear...but yeah, some ham-headed Canadian Imm officer could decide to give you a hard time, so if they can have the hospital name also appear in English, that might be a wise thing to do...or if they put an official stamp on it, which they actually did for my first jab as shown below, then you are golden ????
That's perfect! But I didn't get anything as official as that from Phyathai for my first shot. Just the appointment paper. So I really have to be on the ball tomorrow and make sure they give me a similar certificate with stamp (very important) and signature. I believe that would do the trick 100%. Thanks.
PS: Ah, I just noticed you have both shots on your certificate with the stamp and sig. That'll work just fine. Perfect, in fact.

If you look at my certificate that I posed above it is in both Thai and English. I would assume Phyathai would provide same. Just be sure they give it to you with an official stamp and a QR code. Really, I think the QR code is all you really need since Canada Imm will probably just scan that.
The cost of a quarantine stay is ridiculously high. Even in Thailand the cost of a mandatory ASQ is around 30-40000 THB for me to re-enter even as a fully vaccinated person ????
Yeah, I was wondering that too. But I did notice on your certificate that everything's in English except the hospital name. Maybe when I get there tomorrow, I can ask them to write the hospital name in English. Don't know why they write it in Thai and everything else in English. TiT.

wife rang them today, i have the same dates as you, a friend is 2 days later on the 15th, wife wanted to know if we could go on the same day, save a trip from ban chang, was told ok, just turn up with passport and appointment slip, but lady on phone said today was last day at phyathai 2 for 2nd shots and would now be done at SCB bank HQ Bangkok, anyone else heard, no mention of date change
I got an email a week ago announcing Phyathai was expediting its second shot program. The last Phyathai day is tomorrow, Sept. 14. The email then said that for those who are still owed a second shot, they will be done elsewhere. So I guess SCB Bank is the place.
My email was a heads-up, I guess, because of earlier emails where I asked to get an earlier shot. At first they weren't keen, but now the hospital is keen to get us off their backs. I was offered a choice of dates up to the 14th at Phyathai. That made me very happy. So mine's tomorrow, 8 weeks after the first AZ vaccination. That gives me time to build up immunity and book a flight and accommodation in October.

Better yet, just save it to your smart phone. ????
Yup, I got that too. I got the first shot on the Mor Prom app and will get the second shot recorded at Phyathai 2 Hospital when I will be fully vaccinated on Tuesday, the 14th. However, then I will have to get this translated into English to meet the requirements of Canada to prove my full vaccination so I can skip the 14-day self-isolation. I simply do not want to do 14 days in an expensive room. Period.

Yes, the second hospital gave me a certificate that listed both vaccinations. However, it did not have a stamp on it like my certificate had from my first jab. I've asked a few knowledgeable people if that matters, and the consensus is that it does not since the QR code is all that matters. Still though, I think I might ask the hospital to send me one with a stamp on it.
Guard that with your life. LOL. I will put mine in a heavy plastic sleeve. Thanks for this.

As I noted in the FB link page, Vietnamese and Japanese weather services have downgraded Conson to a depression, which will hit land and then turn into a normal low pressure area.

Hey, this film looks really good. Some really impressive interior and exterior scenes. Feels like a real Cambodian work of art. Will watch for this.

Agree on the possible Euro genes. There's something behind the eyes, too, which I attribute to a conscious brain. If you ever watch the TV ads on the BTS, the actors have completely empty eyes. Nothing there in the body language either, just like wooden frames with clothes on.
Once passed by a promotion stage at Siam Square years ago. Two guys were wearing motorcycle-y leathers. They looked completely lost in those foreign clothes. They didn't know how to look or stand. They didn't get it.
Regarding the Lalisa video. They blew the budget all right, with more than a dozen costume changes, multiple locations and a lot of background actors. As for the "music," well, to each his/her own.
But you can't argue with success.

Different strokes for different folks, I was born and raised in small city in US where clubs were open till 2 AM and could find someplace to eat 24 hrs a day. I am not a country boy so no way would live in Issan in Nakhon Nowhere. I have a condo in Bangkok beside my wifes childhood home where her dad still lives and has 20 apartments to rent. My 3 bedroom home is in Banglamung just out side downtown Pattaya. When we tire of BKK crowds /smog we head down to Pattaya to enjoy our greenery and can enjoy the beaches, Terminal 21 and other malls. When friends visit I show them around and can take them to visit clubs and nite life as well as Suakawadee and massage places. I like to be able to go /do almost anything 24 hrs a day if I want not be stuck out in the jungle. Still have the quiet peaceful area at home.
Re photos: That's a beautiful spot, man. Nice balance, city and country.

In another year or two, EmSphere will open at soi 22 Suk. Then GIANT Bangkok Mall out on Bang Na Trad road is due to be born. Isn't Sukhumvit traffic flow going to be great! Good luck trying to get on the BTS in rush hour, too, or walking across Suk at intersections. It was bad enough already, pre-pandemic. Or maybe this will all make the Chinese feel right at home.

Yes I can confirm I am at Phyathai 2 Hospital. I will post a full report of the process & crucially what documentation I get at the end of it. Incidentally I had no notice until the Friday evening SMS & hadn't picked up anywhere that there had been a policy change for AZ from 12 to 10 weeks for the 2nd jab.
Thanks. When was the date of your first jab? My first shot was July 21 (2nd Oct. 13, 12 weeks later) but it looks like your first was in June maybe? Just trying to get a reading on when my 2nd one might come along. If it's a 10-week gap now, that would put me back into end of September. Which would be a great relief!
-
I probed Phyathai 2 Hospital as to whether I could have my 2nd jab moved up. Got a reply the same day (Aug. 28) saying they were reluctant to do so unless I had documents to prove necessity such as flight tickets or convention invitation.
Then I replied Sept. 2 with a simpler question. How will the hospital communicate with me should they change the jab date. Answer was via SMS or by phone.
In both cases, a lady with the Phyathai 2 International Correspondence Centre was very prompt and professional. This is their email: [email protected].

Which hospital please?
Yes, that is definitely of interest to many people here.
This is a really important question for me, too, for travel reasons. I looked back at Harry2's posts and he got his jab at Phyathai 2 Hospital. OK, @Harry2, please let us know your dates, Thanks very much.
-
^^^ Exactly correct, @Jingthing. Expat forums on VN are filled with desperate people looking for a way out as they're being thrown out. Even holders of Business visas and work permits. I'm guessing VN hasn't sold even a single 90-day Tourist visa since early 2020. The regs were amended in July 2020 to require mandatory 30-day reports and passport stamps. Then, out you go after 90 days.
Only watched 5 minutes of the video. Narrator sounds like he's stuck in race mode.
Anyway, there's a picture from Cambodia near the beginning. Wrong! Temp ranges. Wrong! Etc. A true piece of buffalo excrement.
PS I just came back after looking down the story index. Or should I say sorry index. I'll just leave it at that.

It is expected to become fully operational in 2020.
Cambodians are still waiting. The story is a straight press release, written a few years ago, I guess. So much for "fast-tracking."

Yes, I got my second AZ shot yesterday. I got my first jab on June 7. and had an appointment for the second one for September 27. I was contacted about three weeks ago, advising me that my appointment for the second AZ shot had been changed to August 30. There was no fuss and I was in and out in 35 minutes. The whole place was very well run.
Which hospital, please?
Hoping it was Phyathai 2. I emailed them to move up my 2nd shot due to international travel plans but they were not too enthused unless I had some documents such as flight ticket and/or overseas conference.

Today I joined the ranks of fully-vaccinated expats in Thailand...Yay! Even though it's still dangerous out there for fully vaccinated people, it's still a liberating feeling to know I don't have to feel like a scared hermit anymore ????
For what it's worth, I got Pfizer as my second jab after a first jab of AZ last month. I really did not want to wait until the middle of October for the 2nd AZ jab because I have international travel plans later in September.
Med Park Hospital was willing to accommodate me,,,and NO, I did not lie about having gotten the previous jab. I was very frank about my concerns for waiting so long for full vaccination since I have to travel internationally by the end of September, and they were agreeable to giving me Pfizer as a 2nd jab, even though only one month has gone by since my first jab.
So...the reason I'm sharing this is because 1) Medical professionals apparently do not feel that strongly that 12 weeks must go by for a second jab, and 2) If you have a compelling reason to be fully vaccinated in less than 12 weeks, they seem willing to work with you. If you are in a similar situation, and can;t get Pfizer locally in Chon Buri, the trips up to Bangkok to Med Park is not a big issue.
Just don't do it on the day of a monsoon! The drive up was horrendous today...nothing like driving to drive along a motorway under 3 feet of water! ????
I and others would like to know whether you have an official record, paper and/or electronic, of being fully vaccinated: AZ and Pfizer. Many thanks.
I also must travel in October and need to show up in the home country with a record of vaccination to avoid a 14-day quarantine. Not to mention the health benefits.

I have just successfully registered on the Mor Phrom app using my details from the Phayathai 2 AZ jab. It showed a very detailed summary of my AZ jab details. It seems that this app may become Thailand vaccine e-passport.
I did the same yesterday. Yeah, everything was there. This probably means I'll have to wait till October for shot no. 2. I really wanted to have both shots to return home sooner, exempt from the 14 day quarantine.
Tip: If you're searching for the Mor Prom app on Apple App Store, drop the "h" from Phrom in the search function. Also, a Twitter user (Mattthewriter) takes you through the Thai language app login stuff. Linked on Richard Barrow's Twitter feed yesterday and also here on ASEAN Now.

Do not think so, it’s still within expiry date and we having similar side effects . If it was off, we would not get any side effects at all. ????
The US, in granting the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine full regulatory approval yesterday, it also extended the shelf life from 6 to 9 months.

All Retox bars are no more. Retox Soi Honey was one of the most popular bars in Pattaya pre pandemic. Fits all your criteria but now gone. There are others.
Oddly enough, I thought of Retox Game On yesterday for the same reason. The Retox name has been wiped off the map, except for Game On which is listed on Google maps as "permanently closed." That was a very sad day. For a quality pub to call it quits says something negative about the future of Pattaya and the status of Thailand as a westerners' tourist zone. I'll just leave it at that.

Ask Argentina how it's going with Sputnik V since they started using it heavily well over half a year ago. It desperately wants to finish full vaccination but cannot as it has been waiting for 7 months for Sputnik V second dose to show up, which is a different type from the first dose. The Russian manufacturer is having trouble with quality output.
Argentina has been forced to switch vaccines -- Moderna and AstraZeneca -- for second doses.
From BBC in late July:
QuoteIn Argentina, an email from one of President Alberto Fernandez's advisers to Russia's RDIF said that as of 7 July, Argentina was still waiting for 5.5 million first doses and 13.1 million second doses of Sputnik V. "At this point the entire contract is at risk of being cancelled," the email obtained by Argentine media said.

Expats getting a Covid-19 vaccine in Pattaya for dummies with emphasis on expats outside the Thai system

I got my second AZ shot yesterday at Phyathai 2 Hospital. This is 8 weeks after my first one, moved up from 12 weeks by the hospital. In and out in about an hour. Quite a busy place. Thais outnumbered foreigners at least a 50 to 1. Some younger Thais there.
Staff were, as the first time, very helpful and patient. And hard working.
Too bad the hospital has under-sized corridors, rooms and elevators. This all caused some patient traffic jams and delays, especially at the tiny elevators. This was in Building A, floor 9.
They also handed me a smallish certificate of vaccination (about 6 in x 8 in) ALL in English and Thai with a fresh signature and MoPH stamp. Except the name of the hospital is only in Thai. Anyway, it still looks like I will have to get the whole thing translated by an embassy approved service.
My Mor Prom app record was updated automatically. Another translation job, I guess.
