Seems hospitals are more flexible now. Remember, a few weeks ago every announcement of vaccinations was prefaced -- in bold capital letters -- that only those seeking first doses would be accepted.  

Anyway, it seems most everyone on this thread has been successful getting full vaccination. Today marks the end of my 14-day wait for reaching full immunity with AZ. 

Coincidentally, I got an email confirmation today that my Thai record of AZ vaccination has been successfully recorded by my Canadian provincial health system. This is for the purpose of a "vaccine passport" that's now mandatory. Back to Canada, without (hopefully) facing quarantine (called self-isolation, actually), next week. It's all up to a federal airport officer.

I don't know anything about parking. I don't drive here. But a tip: Parking floors are in the middle floors between G and 9 (top floor). You're actually better to get on the lifts at ground level because they're so tiny (4-5 persons max) and only three of them, no one from a parking floor has room to get on. Seen this many times.

It's Building A. There will be several elevator stops on car park levels on the way up to floor 9, which is an actual hospital floor. It's a very weird experience.

To get to (Carpark) Building A, floor 9: Enter directly from the main street into Building B with the Starbucks in the lobby and where you first got vetted for jab 1. Look up and follow the sign to Bldg A. In short, immediately turn left in front of the Starbucks area, walk down a really nondescript hallway and turn right. I believe this is where you can see a small interior driveway between buildings. Traffic left to right. Cross here and wait in line for the really puny elevators (3 of them) in Bldg A up to floor 9. A staffer will be there to guide traffic. 

After you finally reach floor 9, bear left and into a waiting area. Ignore and keep on going to a doorway on the right. Enter another waiting area with all the action. Register here and sit. Get your pen out for another Q&A check box paper. Things moved fairly fast. 

If I'm slightly off, there's always someone to guide you there. Other than the great staff, P2 Hospital facilities are overall too compact and claustrophobic for my liking.

Shingrix is a two-shot regimen. The second shot is recommended to be administered two to six months after the first. I got my second in October, 2019 in Canada. I'm a bit shocked Thailand doesn't have this.

By the way, I had no side effects. Shingrix is a bit expensive. I think I paid CA$162/4200 baht per shot. I missed out on a later regulatory change that made it free for us older gentlemen.

I'm well aware. The government portal makes that very clear. Mine's AZ, as are the jabs for a lot of Thailand expats.

@dsj Great to hear. And I will add a westerner friend of mine in Bangkok is a busy Thailand-centric travel agent and knows this stuff inside out. So busy, in fact, I hadn't seen him in weeks until last night. Says the doc you posted is acceptable in Canada. One doesn't need this "vaccine passport."  

The two operating sites (for vaccine passports) with mandatory appointment requirements (supposedly no walk-ins) have been useless. I've checked them half a dozen times a day.

One of them, the Division of Communicable Diseases, Building 5th, 6th Floor, Department of Disease Control,  has now gone offline. It was up this morning but no open dates except the end of October. Not kidding. But now the  page reply is Cannot Connect to Server. Multiple attempts.

The second, Urban Institute for Disease Control and Prevention, tends to open a single date or two ahead but are filled up seemingly in seconds. I just missed one as I had to run to my desktop after spotting an opening on my phone.

For another tearful, click on Make an Appointment. Not a single open date at all (there was one on Oct. 8 but it's gone and it was after my flight date). Fat lot of good that's going to do people.

I think maybe the one in the airport is your best bet.

Alas, the airport service was shut June 28. [smacks head] Emailed them and got an auto reply saying this. Yeah, I know, it just gets better. 

I decided the walk-in service at Bamrasnaradura is the way to go. But have to be there for queue numbers starting at 6:30 am. That's according to helpful poster @thedemon who reported on his experience in great and glorious detail, which is what convinced me to do it. ^^^ @MJCM I've been checking that site and another regularly throughout recent days. The one you posted, has absolutely no dates until Oct. 8, which is 3 days after my flight.

Another site http://vacn.ddc.moph.go.th/index.php has had a couple of dates but then when I try to select a time, clicking it doesn't select anything -- as I found out on the next page shown that tells me I have to select a date. But I can't. This has happened every time I opened this site.

I'm looking for recommendations for a company that does official Thai to English translation. It's not legal work. 

It's for translating the Ministry of Public health vax stuff on the Mor Prom app. Yes, the certificate is in English but I'm just covering my butt should border services in Canada wants to have a look via the QR code. 

My embassy's one recommendation is not in business. Could be the same for others. The embassy said I could use any service as long as the translation is "Certify true correct translation" and have signature of the translator and company's seal.

By contrast, when I finally gave up on them and went into Bangkok for my Covid vaccinations at PhyaThai for jab one, and then to MedPark for jab two (because they were willing to allow me to have it only several weeks later instead of having to wait 12 weeks), their treatment of Farangs was amazing!  Very friendly and efficient, many of the staff spoke English better than a native speaker like me! 

 

And most important of all, they were good listeners!  If you had a question they were willing to carefully and patiently listen to you and then respond appropriately and in an incredibly helpful way. 

 

I mean, I was truly impressed at BOTH hospitals.  Definitely first-class all the way!  It may be a bit of a pain having to drive into Bangkok from Pattaya, but well worth it IMO!

Agree 100%. Questions were never a problem, they were only too happy to answer. Considering how hard these people were working every day, it was most impressive.

1. I messaged Bangkok Airport this morning about a vaccine passport for travel but an auto reply in Thai only said the service has been closed since June 28. Isn't that great. 

2. The booking system at the Travel Clinic at Urban Institute for Disease Prevention and Control seems to have open dates this coming week but I can't seem to select a time. Used two different browsers. I messaged their FB page and got a long English reply that this week's bookings are full and to keep checking. These two other agencies were recommended:

3. I called the Thai Travel Clinic, Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute, but the girl answering was not terribly clear. Told me to go tomorrow morning at 7 am, but it doesn't open till 8:30. Other days didn't seem to be available. Garbled message.

What a mess! 

Will keep trying Monday. Two weeks to liftoff and little progress.

I think I got lucky on the date change because of my emailed request to move up my date.  So, through sheer happenstance, they replied with the news of the date changes for everyone. But they have sent mixed messages on when the hospital will stop conducting second jabs. I'd advise everybody to confirm their dates and venues by phone or email. 

By the way, I did not get a date notification via Mor Prom, my record being set up by Phyathai. Of course, it's been very frustrating using another phone with Google Translate to read my Mor Prom info on my primary phone. 

Overall, though, I certainly agree Phyathai 2 Hospital is very professional and very contactable.

They already changed the date to bring it forward 16 days without asking me, you'd have thought they'd let me know if I was supposed to go elsewhere.

Right. Better give them a call then, since you have a long trip. Did you get a phone number on the email?

@Guderian Do you have any travel plans, domestically or internationally?

As I was informed by Phyathai Tuesday, 14th, the Thailand Certificate of COVID19 Vaccination (image example in WaveHunter's post near the top of this page) will be needed for boarding domestic flights. Another certificate, for which you will need the aforementioned one as proof of vaccination (with QR code), will be available to buy at the airport for international flights. Who knows, you might even need it for the vax passport to get into eateries, malls, etc.

So keep all this in mind. I'm saying this because it would be best to complete your vaccinations at Phyathai and instantly get your certificate proof at the end of your 30-minute clearance. It's processed and handed to you as you leave. Up to you.

I got my second AZ shot yesterday at Phyathai 2 Hospital. This is 8 weeks after my first one, moved up from 12 weeks by the hospital. In and out in about an hour. Quite a busy place. Thais outnumbered foreigners at least a 50 to 1. Some younger Thais there. 

Staff were, as the first time, very helpful and patient. And hard working.

Too bad the hospital has under-sized corridors, rooms and elevators. This all caused some patient traffic jams and delays, especially at the tiny elevators. This was in Building A, floor 9.

They also handed me a smallish certificate of vaccination (about 6 in x 8 in) ALL in English and Thai  with a fresh signature and MoPH stamp. Except the name of the hospital is only in Thai. Anyway, it still looks like I will have to get the whole thing translated by an embassy approved service.

My Mor Prom app record was updated automatically. Another translation job, I guess. 

Yeah, what's a few wounds and attempted murder charges between friends?

That's perfect! But I didn't get anything as official as that from Phyathai for my first shot. Just the appointment paper. So I really have to be on the ball tomorrow and make sure they give me a similar certificate with stamp (very important) and signature. I believe that would do the trick 100%. Thanks. 

PS: Ah, I just noticed you have both shots on your certificate with the stamp and sig. That'll work just fine. Perfect, in fact.

The cost of a quarantine stay is ridiculously high.  Even in Thailand the cost of a mandatory ASQ is around 30-40000 THB for me to re-enter even as a fully vaccinated person ????

 

Yeah, I was wondering that too. But I did notice on your certificate that everything's in English except the hospital name. Maybe when I get there tomorrow, I can ask them to write the hospital name in English. Don't know why they write it in Thai and everything else in English. TiT.

I got an email a week ago announcing Phyathai was expediting its second shot program. The last Phyathai day is tomorrow, Sept. 14. The email then said that for those who are still owed a second shot, they will be done elsewhere. So I guess SCB Bank is the place. 

My email was a heads-up, I guess, because of earlier emails where I asked to get an earlier shot.  At first they weren't keen, but now the hospital is keen to get us off their backs. I was offered a choice of dates up to the 14th at Phyathai. That made me very happy. So mine's tomorrow, 8 weeks after the first AZ vaccination. That gives me time to build up immunity and book a flight and accommodation in October.
