I'm getting an above average 70% approx: signal late afternoons and poor low signal mornings. If it was corrosion I would guess that the signal what be poor throughout the day and night so I'm guessing alignment of the dish, if no one else is having similar problems. It has been like this on mostly clear days so not caused by bad weather. I might have to bite the bullet and get a specialist to come out and check the dish position and see if something obvious is wrong with the equipment set up. Thank you for your comments.

yes, sorry i did post on another forum but had no answer so thought best to try here also.
i will check my signal to see if the quality is ok as you mentioned for both times of day. the dish has been positioned without any problems for 10 years but last couple of years there have been strong winds if that has moved it slightly. when the signal is bad the picture is breaking up and pixelating. but afternoons and evenings ok.
thanks for the help.

my wife's uk that signal has been breaking up each morning and clears through the afternoon. has anyone else had trouble with the satellite reception. has it changed settings or is this possibly my receiver/equipment on the blink. thanks for the help.

Can anyone tell me the current prices per metre for guttering including downpipe in and around Ubon area fitted & installed. We have used guys around the village a few times in the past but it was so long ago that prices will have no doubt gone up now that so much building is going on around the city. Cheers.

Here's some new information on The Grand Condo by Big C. It won't be done until April 2014 and 71 of the 201 condos have already been reserved in the first week. They have 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom designs. Some of the bigger ones are on corners and cost more of course. There's a phone number for a guy named Chang 081-878-1180 in one of the pictures if you want to talk to someone in English. While it's a nice location, the models feel incredibly small. If you're thinking of purchasing and have time, I'd wait. There are several more condos on the way.

Can you be more specific about where in Kham Yai the new hospital and police station will be built? They are building a private hospital next to us in Kham yai and opposite there is going to be a new police station. Lost going on around us at the moment. New housing development across the chayangkul rd 70+ rai I hear to be started by Mrs Sunee if it goes ahead. I guess it will as all the businesses around there have been kicked out before land is cleared.
Just at the rear of the Tata showroom. 70-100m off the main rd. Entering the village the hospital will be on the left and police station just before it on the right where there is currently forest land. They are taking trees down now for the police station and soil is going in for the hospital on a 6 rai plot just sold be our neighbour.

Dear All
We are just about to get quotes for metal roofing panels to put on our small factory building and wanted to ask what the current prices are per m2 or linear metre for these type of sheeting. What coverage to expect, sizes, thickness, laminated non-laminated and extra rivet/fixing costs on top. The area is 320m2 with a 1.5 - 2.3 m curved overhang around the edges. Frame work will be up soon but any input on what i can expect in terms of panel prices would great. Thanks.

Has anyone managed to find a Thai accountancy firm locally in Ubon yet? May need one soon, if anyone can make any recommendations it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, businesses renting in that area have had to move all of a sudden and the tractors have come in clearing trees soon after. All happening very quick. This is potentially as large if not larger than Sunee hotel and central plaza in terms of overall development size so will be interesting to see what they plan to do. Housing seems a little mundane for Mrs Sunee and friends but lets see. One thing is for sure they don't hang around so you can expect to see something there within a year or so.
For anyone wanting to look on google earth here is the area we are talking about:
Lat: 15°18'4.88"N
Lon: 104°50'19.70"E

There are rumours in our village that the site which had been previously forest land is now been cleared next to chayangkul rd for soil by "Mrs Sunee" the lady and her partners behind the Sunee Grand Hotel. We have heard it may possibly be a housing project but as the site they are clearing is around 70 rai it sound a little large for housing alone. Anyone else heard anything through the grapevine?

kham Yai has an ice factory. drive in with a pick-up or truck and they will load any quantity for you into cool boxes.

Some 10 years ago I would have been guilty of feeling that rural Isaan was full of poorer Thais but the coin has flipped and the west is getting poorer and the east richer. Any SE/Asian countries on the door step of China will enoy an increase in trade relations and farmers enjoy an increase in food prices. The UK has just had its worst yield for farm crops for many years and prices are on the rise as a result. If food continues to be in short supply around the world affected by weather, increasing population, change in diets and ever increasing use of land for biofuels then farming may not be such a bad past time in future for the next generation of our kids IF they get to enjoy higher prices for their crops in time. The world's in a strange way but my take is that the poor farmers will not be so poor for very much longer. Others argue different and i might be wrong but i used to think about saving to put my kids through uni but think differently now as many with degrees are struggling to find a job even at mcdonalds in the west. So what was the point of all that eductaion if no jobs exists at the end and the economies are on a decline for some time. Its the west in need of help right now!

Does anyone know of a good painter in Ubon. We need our house freshening up inside and out, window frames painting and first prices in look high so I'd like to get another quote if possible. Some years back we had a wonderful guy paint for us and his prices were very reasonable but he's since moved out the area so I'm struggling to find anyone on a search. Many thanks.....
