Ah the new APPS system! It requires you to swipe your ATM card. It will check your bank account then run a quick credit check to see if you are accepted or an "undesirable" (anyone without a load of cash). Need to keep priorities in order.

I'm sure it was brake failure again. We should know as soon as they find the driver.

Went to get a residency certificate today at Chaeng Watthana Immigration. After being sent to the wrong queue and waiting there for a while I finally got to the correct queue and waited some more only to be be told by a <deleted> with an immigration uniform, that he could review my papers but that it would take about 3 weeks before my certificate was mailed to me!!! W#T#F! So now it's off to make an appointment at the US Embassy where its much easier but oh, so much more expensive.
Has anyone else had the joy of trying to get a residency cert in BKK?? Does it really take 3 weeks or was the monkey on duty just being typically lazy?

I personally don't use protection. Seriously, I prefer to render the clearest, sharpest image I can and rely on my lens hood to protect my lenses whenever the lens cap is not on the lens. I also will use filters such as polarising and/or ND filters and with the UV added to the mix it is just too much glass (taking it off and storing it away temporarily is a pain also), adding layers and distance sitting in front of a lens I paid a tidy some for because of it's quality. Also, when you spend that much for a quality lens, you tend to treat it carefully.

OK, this is how I do it using Flickr, my MBP and Safari:
- Go to your image in Flickr (make sure you are at the screen where you assign groups, keywords etc.)
- Select the download icon below and to the right of your image
- Choose the size you want (I recommend 'Large'
- Right click on the selected size and choose 'Copy Link'
- Now go to TV forum
- Select the 'image' icon on the top of the image reply area (if not visible, choose 'More Reply Options' next to the 'Post' button. This should make the 'image' icon visible (looks like a little monitor).
- When you select the 'image' icon, you will get a pop-up box where you 'Paste' your copied link. This should load the photo into the reply box (give it a moment, especially if it is a big file).
- Press post and you're done!!!!!
Hope that helps

Words from Stix, he always starts with: DAL, are you crazy......:
"DAL, are you crazy?! You're shooting the whole sunset in black and white?!?"
---Ah well... There she goes!
I don't ask anymore. I think everyone knows by now!

Sticks, very nice photo! Looks like you and DAL visited the same place some misty morning ago.
I know you're heading back to the States. Just wanted to same thanks for all the good advice and help with cleaning up my images. . . a work in progress I might add.
happy trails!
Yes, DAL was kind enough to show me around his neck of the woods for a few days so we share some of the same location shots from Petchabun.
Thanks for your kind words.

And DAL and I had the chance to learn some good stuff from you!

HFD is not that daunting if you commonly shoot your street shots at a common f-stop like f8. Then you just set need to learn the HFD for that f-stop. Granted it will vary some by focal length but you can fudge it a bit.

Hi Y'all,
Didn't forget about you, just been preoccupied. Took my camera out for the first time since returning to the US. Got here too late for the good light but took a shot anyway. I'm happy to say, no more sweating!!! Yeah!
