I am in Baan Du near Mae Fa Luang Uni. Tons of hail yesterday. Looked like it snowed here.

Well, looks like the weather people were on the money as we got the hail they were forecasting. In fact there was so much, and the wind so strong, that I had hail piles up about 4 inches deep on the side of my house! Even now, 1.5 hours later, there are still some piles of hail remaining in the yard! Fortunately, no hail damage to the house or car!

That was beard trimmer not bread trimmer Toybits ha-ha. I finally bought one at a barber and hair saloon supply shop. It's located right across from Meng Rai Statue. If your heading west across the intersection its about 10 meters in on the left side. I ended up buying one from China but it is a very professional one and only 900Baht. Can use it with a cord or cordless it came with two batteries and assorted attachments far less than at Central. They also had European and American ones but more expensive. Quite a good shop staff very helpful.
900 baht and likely can't even cut a baguette with it!

Hi Gary,
Yes, it appears to be complete as there are no signs of construction. From what I understand, it is a school for novices but in more the Chinese style. The students wear the orange robe but shorter and with orange, fill length pants as well. Looks more like orange kungfu garb actually. Anyway, a very interesting site and worth a look-see.

Thank you both for the advice. I will try to locate both places. Being a real curry fan, I look forward to the curry and seafood!
Thanks again!

Sat outside now enjoying a cold one, air is great, just a bit hot and humid. Welcome and enjoy next week
Music to my ears (and lungs)! Many thanks!
I live in HH, have been here now 7 years. The air quality here is some of the best overall in Thailand. If you you want to check this out just go on the Thai meteorological site and you will find they give the distance that can be seen in kms, so you can compare various places.I hope you enjoy your visit. Take a trip south from HH some 10 kms to the beach at Khao Toa. The beach is called 'Pine Beach' and is some 7 kms long, well worth a day out. There is a good beachside restaurant there that is very cheap for food and beers; the whole of the area is under Army control and is kept nice and clean; they charge you some 20B to enter.
Really appreciate the info! Will definitely give Khao Toa a visit. I have visited HH before but only for a few days. Can you recommend a couple GOOD seafood restaurants that offer Thai pricing rather than the prices they charge at the night bazaar area? I really enjoyed the grilled seafood there but their prices, I suspect, were elevated for the tourist crowds. Thanks again cheshiremusicman!

I am not in HH at the moment but I am quite confident the air quality will be good, its located by the sea so I doubt it ever gets poor air quality there.
I have been to HH quite a few times and I have a Farang friend who lives there.
Its always fine as far as I can remember.

Thanks for that quick reply. I hope you're right! ! ! !

Was wondering if you local HH TV'ers could provide some information regarding the air quality in HH. I live in Chiang Rai where the air right now is very THICK, so thick you can almost cut out chunks of it ! ! ! Anyway, getting sick of breathing the junk and plan to spend next week in HH. How is your air? Is it smoky and hazy or do the sea breezes keep it clear (I sincerely hope!)?
Appreciate any helpful replies.
Thanks in advance,
Stix

Saw on TV news that there is a forecast for severe weather this weekend that could include damaging hail. Best to keep the autos under cover or risk getting them pock-marked by hailstones.

Seems there's a firmware update for you Oly boys!
Ming discusses it here: http://blog.mingthein.com/2014/04/01/new-olympus-e-m1-firmware/
