  1. 17,000 Toyota cars in Thailand to be recalled

BANGKOK: -- Toyota Motor Corp will recall 17,000 cars in Thailand as part of the plan to recall 1.4 million cars globally, it was reported Tuesday.

Reuters reported from Tokyo that Toyota announced it would make the biggest ever recall of its cars, including the Corolla and 15 other models due to trouble with their headlight switching systems.

According to the report, the recall, filed with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, was the biggest for a Japanese auto maker and beat Toyota's previous record recall of 797,707 vehicles in 1999.

Toyota said the vehicles to be recalled were manufactured between May 2000 and August 2002.

Toyota said it would recall about 1.27 million vehicles in Japan in addition to another roughly 140,000 vehicles exported overseas, including about 70,000 cars in Australia, 19,000 cars in Singapore and 17,000 cars in Thailand.

  3. Hi everyone! Im hoping somebody can give me some infromation on teaching over here? I have a degree in Environmental Science and have completed my PGCE and a years teaching in an inner city school in England. I would be quite happy to have a go at any subject but I hear that there is always work for english teachers. The info I would really be interested in would be regarding visa/work permit requirements, housing and demand.

I am currently in Bangkok on a years holiday and would be glad to visit a school or hear from anyone that has some information that may help me.

    Cheers!

    Tony.

I also got a good deal for my one way ticket to Thailand with Thai Air on 3rd december 05 £350 through www.airline-network.co.uk

So I think I have done alright to get myself a filght for that. :D

  5. Hi

I got 2 Tattoos done in Khao San Road, to be fair I only did after a friend who had his done there a few months before recomended. As long as you see they practice good health and safety then it will be fine.

Maybe you could go in a check a few out, they always have good books with loads of ideas in them whilst your browsing designs you could check out the cleanlyness of the place.

I have spent a lot of time in Chiang Mai and I'm moving back to live with my girlfriend 3rd December I know there was one in the night bazzar near Pizza Hut but to be honest never looked much as I wasn't after anymore. I shall be looking to get one when I return and would be interested in where you got yours :o

Well not much help there but I got 2 in Thailnd 2 years ago and I'm still here and no itches lol. You'll be fine :D

  6. You can of course enter for 60 days, get a 30day extension at any immigration office, do a border run and repeat the process.

By the way don't expect to get a cheap tickets on Thai back to London in Thailand.

They ain't cheap. There are bargain fares provided you change planes on route.

Yeah, but all depends on who you know :o

  7. Hi

I have been 4 times and each time I take less and less EVERYTHINGS out there!

Bring your phone along and buy a sim in bangkok 500BHT

They sell sanitry towles in all 7 elevens, although I'm not a girl had to make many a trip for my girlfirend.

Clothes take your some of your own and buy the rest there, the sizes vary but who can argue when your paying a dollar or so for a T - Shirt :D

OH if your gonna take anything take IMODIUM cos you'll need it for the first month or so :o

Where bouts are you going? Theres a Tescos in Samui Bangkok and Chiang Mai has 2, I'm sure theres loads more outh there but I haven't been to them.

Your going on a tourist visa right? If so get the 60 day one in your country and get pay for a few more entries! then each time you go to the border you will get stamped 60 days in! You can only do it for a max of 4 times, then you will have to go every 30 days.

I remember I took roll matt, mozzi net, sleeping bag and never used them once its all there for you!

Send me a message if you want to know anything else.

    Take care Ash :D

  8. Dear agsnowdon.

There is no such thing as a 90 day tourist visa.

No airport will request a disclaimer in any circumstance. They are not liable.

Anyway, as you have a one way ticket how on earth do Thai Airlines know you have a visa to cover the entire length of your stay?

If you hold a valid Thai visa you do not require a return ticket.

HOWEVER in certain circumstances airlines and railways are responsible for repatriation of passengers denied entry (includes Thailand) and can be fined (don't know if includes Thailand). So if you hold a one way or return ticket and look iffy an airline may well be suspicous. Possession of a return ticket does not of itself guarantee entry.

Thosands, if not tens of thousands,.of intercontinental journey air passengers travel every day with one way tickets. So sit back, relax and enjoy the flight.

    I

Ok I'll sit back and relax. The 90 day tourist visa I am reffering to is...

Tourist Visa £ 25 per entry (Up to 4 entries/ 60 days per entry/ single entry has 3 months validity/more than one entry has 6 months validity.

    Source Thai Visa App Form

So you can enter on 60 days then go to the border and stamp for a further 30 days or 60 days depending on hw many amounts of £25 you pay.

I have have heard it called a 90 day tourist visa many a time, anyhow :D

Thanks for your up lifting comment tho, I shall now endevour to sit back and relax till the 3rd December where I shall be doing 12 hours of sitting back!

    :o
