You have to replace both forks, not covered by warranty
Is he replacing both forks due to them being bent/damaged. If its just fork seals that are required , just go to a bike repair shop. He can even get the fork legs straightened at some shops. Even this wont cost 3K. The complete fork doesnt need replacing if its only a seal leaking. Many / most Honda CRF,s have problems with leaking fork seals , due to a bad design , but the only times the complete forks were changed , was when the owner gave up with the standard design and upgraded them to an adjustable fork like the set-up on the Kawasaki KLX.

I think they are just called engines ?. A loose description , maybe. The final output power shaft on all engines rotates . It is then used to power / drive what you want , how you want it. Including on an "Axial" engine. Strange design.
-
Fork seal = 500 Baht. If he has bent the fork leg with a crash or pothole , then yes , it will leak and be 3K , no warranty. Aerox range from about 60 to 68K , with ABS. Honda dealers are asking 98,000 for the PCX. N-Max is 82K , so a lot cheaper.

You have been very patient ubonjoe. I have to give you that.
I know that "rotary" is a name for the Wankel engine, and I used it wrong in my post. But I just couldn't come up with a general qualifier for a motor, IC, EC, Electric and Turbine, that provides its output via a rotating shaft.
Still can't, anybody care to enlighten me?
The rotating shaft component is a gearbox , propshaft or drive shaft. Engine wise its a rotary / wankel , or a reciprocating engine ( pistons generally moving 90 degrees to the crank ) , in one of many 4 or 2 stroke guises.

Aerox is more like a PCX, bigger bike and 20k more expensive.
Aerox is 60+ K and you can have ABS. Same size as a 62K Click. Are you thinking of the Yamaha N-Max. That is a similar size to a PCX , but it also has full ABS.That costs about 80K. The PCX is offered at 98K.!! Without the N-Max ABS.

Thanks my friend made a slight mistake with directions, I found the place it’s on Mahidol EAST side of the river a little and on south side set back slightly.
Just from him checking it out I can see why my friend recommended....very on the ball and speaks fair English
Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa ConnectIf you are happy with the repair , could you show where this place is on a map , or GPS .Thanks.

If you want a quicker Click , just buy a Yamaha Aerox. Bigger 155cc engine and better brakes and suspension.

Where did you get the last bit of information from? What about the legal motorcycles that have 2 front wheels, do riders of those have to get them registered as tuk-tuks and get a tuk-tuk driving licence (if there is such a thing)?
The Yamaha Tri-city has the two front wheels spaced close together , and , as such is classed as a motorcycle. The Tiger motorbike / sidecar "outfits" were legal using a bike licence as they were factory built to a pre-determined legal spec. Farangs can take a Tuc Tuc driving test. Not really a fan of trikes , but love the engineering work that goes into building them. Now , if only we could get quad bikes legal.

But Yamaha have , at least , started off at the correct price , and not "front loaded" it an extra 25% , as Honda do.
-
Can afford it , yes. But refuse to buy it , knowing they are being ripped off by Honda again - maybe. Lets hope Yamaha and Kawasaki bring out some better models soon. WR 450 or KLX 450 , anyone ?

Loan sharks (private to private) start at 3% per month with some security/personal creditworthiness.
5% per month is still not considered extreme.
There are "pay day" loan companies in England - supported by the goverment - that charge over 1250 %. That is not a typing mistake. One thousand two hundred and fifty percent. Keep the working class poor , and they will be subservant.

10,000 down payment and 36x3844 = a whopping 148,384 baht for a 150 cc scooter !
I worries me why people dont work out the final total figure .148,000 for a PCX is just insane. Just buy the far better 80K Yamaha N-Max. Even on finance , if you start at the recommended price , it works out much cheaper , for a better bike !. Honda dealers price gouge , yet many still fall for it.

I thought it was priced 10% more than USA before , due to the import taxes. Does it not drop to zero for the 2019 cars and bikes - i may be wrong. Too much above 340/350K will reduce its market. Does look good though.
-
It costs 340K in America , once import charges etc are paid. As there are now no more import taxes from Japan to Thailand , as far as i know , i would expect / hope the price will be similar. Unless Honda tries it on.

They may be including registration - an extra cost . Show them the brochure and see what they say. May be a case of supply and demand. Can you negotiate a deal with any add-ons you require.

Scooters are disposable imo.....
Modern warranty is 36,000-50,000km or 3-5 yrs
After that long you will probably want to buy something new anyway
I dont know if many are doing 12,000 per year on scooters , but yes , as you say , they dont require much skill to maintain. Many will never get their valves checked , or if they are , will they be done correctly. This 450 must be done right , every 3K. By some one who knows what they are doing. Who are you going to trust to do that if its so difficult to get an official Honda dealer to even check a scooter. Now , who wants to guess the Thai price. 350,000 ?.

I fondly remember the XL range. Was the SL more towards trails.

Jolly good.
Edit i meant 150 baht.........
Hell fire mate , 1250 Baht. 555. Thought you had miss typed. Front brake pads for my bike , from Honda , range from 75 to 100 Baht. The Bendix ones are best - 85 Baht. Origional Honda fitments are poor.

Any Oil Pressure problems reported on owners forums. How about a good engine flush - or two - then use a good oil. Maybe a 10/40 Shell or Petronas or Castrol.

Checking...…………..
Measuring? With a micrometer?
Using a calculator, pencil & paper and noting specs?
Changing shims?
Never going to happen. PCX is screw adjustment. And "not east to find a shop that will do it". Removing camshafts and micing up / swapping around shims then calculating what shim brings the clearance back into spec isnt going to happen at Honda shops that cant even set tire pressures correctly. These bikes need to be maintained right. That means doing it yourself or finding a very capable independent mechanic. Warranty will be void.

As many here have found out the hard way , Big Wing can hardly service the CRF 250 valves , so doing so on this bike is going to be interesting. The service intervals just dont make sense. If it was making a motocross level of 65-70 BHP then OK , but 40 !. With a 370cc KTM single cylinder road bike making more power , why can the KTM go so long between oil changes and valve checks but this Honda cant. You go over , and no warranty.

Build quality of Yamahas has been higher than Honda for years , but many Thais and falangs are slow to change. The braking systems on Yamahas is ahead of Honda. The N-Max has disc brakes front and rear , with true ABS braking , unlike Hondas cheap cbs drum rear brakes. Fuel consumption of a 300cc Yamaha and a 270cc Honda will be similar. Go for the better brakes and suspension of the Yam.

I like the Kawasaki Stockman , like a modern XR 250. I prefer injection above carbs , but both have their benefits. If you get the 150 or the 250 , you will be happy with both , although when you start riding the harder trails , you may feel more in control on the smaller bike. If you do buy a used 250 , you can lower the suspension front and rear. I can put you in touch with a good mechanic in Hang Dong called NUNG if required.

Ha Ha . Confused . Welcome to Thailand. As i said , the 125 model is sold in Europe due to licence limits. No such restrictions in Thailand. I guess many just bought the 150 with slightly more power/torque , still air cooled and cheaper. Try phoning Kawasaki Thailand and asking what models are available.

There was a plastic square water shield that went between the distributor and the grill. The rubber gaiters were an aftermarket part. Very useful on off road vehicles. The Chinese never made any ignition systems for the mini minors. If they did , they might have worked better. Lucas made the ignitions.
