Ok here goes. The short story: I met a bargirl last year she wants to give up the life and so she is moving back to the sticks and I will be moving over within the next 6 months.
Neither of us are spring chickens.
Heading over next week for a month and will rent out a house. Considering I have searched on the net and seen how lowly paid some people are and how cheaper it is out in the sticks and I will cover the rent and all utility bills. How much should I give her on a monthly basis?
Guys/gals - I would appreciate your suggestions as I have not got a clue what to give her and I do not want to insult her also I do not want to be too generous. If you know what I mean.
Oh and I expect the usual moralists posts. Your gonna lose it all, it is only the money she is after, blah blah blah.....

I guess I was just irritated that they slammed the entire Sukhumvit district just because of a few "entertainment" areas. I'd hardly call all of Sukhumvit a "sea of human decadence".
But, then again, maybe I'm clueless....

Well Soi 2 is where the Atlanta is, walk through Rahja's Hotel carpark and you are in Soi 4, sic Nana Plaza and noted outside street brothel
The writer was partly correct, but obviously a little disorientated, but aren't all first-time visitors to Bangkok!
Must admit though, from Sukhumvit Soi 1/2 upto Soi 24/33, is indeed full with p4p hang-outs for farangs, well that's the heart of Sukhumvit!

Seems to me as most 'Money managers' actually perform less well than the simple stock indeces they are not really the genius's they are lauded to be and my experience is they make a living by nickel and diming on commision, poor purchase and sale prices, etc..
It's a well known fact that in the past 50 years the 23% of the so-called Wall street experts have beaten the markets, simly said, they were wrong 3 out of 4 times! So you'd better of to do the opposite of what they're saying!
There are of course a few simple but effective tools that have stood the test of time, sorry Harmonica, - Fibonacci numbers, Japanese candlesticks and tealeaves are definitly not included on that list!

I often wonder where i can find good Thai business partners.
For example there must be some Thais out there with loads of experience say in a CAFE operation but not much capital who are looking at starting a business.
Where can i find someone like this? Who has the motivation,experience but not the capital?

You got finance skills, well use them, invest! Keep in mind that over the last 50 years only 18% of the socalled experts got it right, but then top investors got it 35% right and that was more than ample to cut the losses
With a teachers salary of bt25-30k, you will never make it, have you ever met rich ones?
So just go out and do it, its a global deal, make money offshore in hard currency and live in Thailand like a king.

Not saying it has to be debated ad infinitum, just that the structure of the board means that it slips into anonymity unless kept artificially live.
If the other topic - from the 'Thai Ministry of Propaganda' - about nasty farangs can be kept afloat, then why can't this bob alongside? It gives the former some context.
